This happens everywhere in the north where there is a border town,I have travelled from Kebbi to Kwara via public transport and I have seen it happen several times.

So if I understand you well, the lack of dietary iodine means 'lack of the adequate intake of good refined salt'.... Are we on same page if I say so?

Apart from refined salt,iodine could be gotten from periwinkles too.
