Client: “The banner looks terrible its all fuzzy and you cant read it.”
Me: “That’s odd because I’m looking at your etsy shop now and it looks great.”
Client: ”No not that one, I also had it printed into a 1.5 meter long banner to hang over my stall at the market. Looks horrible!”

CLIENT: Why are you calling me?
ME: You haven’t paid and this is the third invoice I’ve sent.
CLIENT: It’s even more than the last one!
ME: Yes. The contract you signed stated that I would add a late fee for payment.
CLIENT: You mean I have to actually pay you? I thought you were joking!
ME: What on earth made you think that?
CLIENT: You’re a freelancer!

Hey guys, I just went through some old articles in a blog run by my friend Iggy Ko. He had an article titled 20 Hilarious ‘Clients from Hell’ Quotes from Designers. He outsourced it from a website- clientsfromhell.net. You should really check out that site once in a while, it'll do much good to your health smiley. However, I will share with you some of the quotes. They were really funny to me and I hope you find it hillarious.

When an image is included as the background, the image fills its container by repeating itself left to right, up to down. This is the default setting. However, we can overcome this by using this syntax:
body
{
background-image:https://www.nairaland.com/stock/image.jpg;;
background-repeat:no-repeat;
}
This will make the image appear once.

Secondly, we treat how to include a background image.
body {background-image:https://www.nairaland.com/stock/image.jpg;}
NOTE: Of course as you may imagine,https://www.nairaland.com/stock/image.jpg, is just an example. You can specify the url of the image anyhow, as long as it is the correct address.

PART 6: Styling Backgrounds with CSS
We shall now learn how to style backgrounds. This is the first time we will be treating this, both in our HTML and CSS courses, so let me give you a gist about it. When used in CSS, background applies to the background of an element. Simple. Now, with CSS we can change the color of a background and even include an image as background. It is noted that the background attribute can be used with most HTML elements like p and h tags.
Syntax:
First, we treat how to change the background color.
body {background-color:aqua;}
NOTE: This syntax means that the body of the page in this case, would be aqua. We can also,definitely,replace the selector-body with any other valid selector

It's just like any other account creation. Complete the registration form found on the page. This form should appear when you click the sign up button. You then log into your email account and verify the registration. Once you've done that, return to the Elance site and complete your profile. This includes uploading a profile picture, adding your qualifications and/or your portfolio. Elance recommends that you complete your profile in order to increase the chances of getting a job. Other steps/options/payment matters are included on the site.

Editing Text Alignment: If you use Microsoft Word, you should be familiar with text-align. With a value of center, yor text will be centralized, while justify will make all the lines of text have equal width. There are two other values- left and right. If you use one these, the text either aligns to the left or right of its container.
Syntax:
p{text-align:center;}
p.one{text-align:justify;}
p.two{text-align:left;}
p.three{text-align:right;}

NOTE: The p, p.one, p.two and p.three are examples only.

PART 5: Styling Text with CSS
The first HTML element that we will style are texts. We shall start from text because, it is logically the most basic and important element on a page.
We shall treat first treat how to change the color of text.
Editing Text Color:
To change the color of text, a method we can use is to modify the paragraph tag. Before we proceed,it should be noted that the convention of writing colors in CSS is the same as that in HTML i.e HEX values, color names,e.t.c
Syntax
p {
color:yellow;
}

NOTE: This syntax is used for internal and external sheets. Throughout these CSS tutorials we will be using CSS syntax as if we were writing the CSS rules in an external sheet. We shall not use inline styles as this will defy the real purpose of CSS.
However, if you want to style a paragraph directly in an HTML document-inline style- we will just include the style attribute in the opening <p> tag.
<p style="color:green;"> This text will be written in green.</p>
So, any text written between the opening and closing <p> tags in the HTML document would now be green in color.

From your above statement, are trying to say that we can use any of ЂΞ html elements when working with css eg:br,a,head,hr,b etc. Thanks once again.
Just certain HTML elements. Using a HTML element like br would not be syntactically correct, as the tag itself does not modify any content. Better still let me upload an example of CSS rules.

Text Formatting Tags:
There will come a time when you'll need to format some of your text for emphasis, highlighting, e.t.c. You might have come across most of them when using MS Word and even here on Nairaland. The predominant text formatting tags.
The Bold <b> tag: This tag makes the selected text bold.
<b>Text</b>
The Italics <i> tag
: This tag makes the selected text italicized
<i>Text</i>
The Subscript tag: This tag makes shrinks the selected text in relation to other text around it.
Text
The Superscript tag: This tag raises the selected text in relation to other text. This is similar to the way we write indices in Maths.
Text
The Computer Code <code> tag: This tag presents the selected text as if it were written by a typewriter. This tag is useful if you want to illustrate a code, when teaching online.
<code>Text</code>

There are two tags that work in hand with the <h> and <p> tags. These are:
1-The Horizontal Rule <hr>: The <hr> tag crates a horizontal rule in the document. The horizontal rule is created on a new line. It can be used to show the end of a particular section in an article.
2-The Break <br> tag: It sends contents to the next line. It can be used as an alternative to the <p> tag for this function only.
NOTE: The <hr> and <br> tags don't require a closing tag.

The Paragraph <p> tag-
The <p> tag is used to create a new paragraph in an HTML page. The <p> tag is somewhat compulsory as all items (text, images, e.t.c) lay within it. The code for inserting a paragraph is:
<p>content</p>
When a new <p> element is inserted after a previous <p> tag, a line of white space is left and its contents start on the line after.

The <body> element nests other tags that control the way webpage contents appear to the visitor/viewer. The elements within the <body> and </body> ARE VISIBLE to the viewer unlike those found in the <head> section. The basic elements in the <body> section are:
The Headings- <h1> to <h6> tags:
These tags are used to signify headings of a document. Headings in a Web page are used in the same way you'll use an heading when writing a physical article (in paper and pen).
To create a heading:
Input in your text editor:
<h1>Your Text</h1>
And "Your Text" will be highlited as your heading.
The <h1> tag is the largest of the <h1> to <h6> tags, with <h2> being smaller than <h1>, <h3> is smaller than <h2> and so on. The <h6> tag is the smallest among his "brothers."
Thus, you may use <h1> as the main heading of a page, <h2> as a subheading and so on.
To appreciate the difference between this tags, consider this image. The first line of text was written as an <h1>, the second <h2>, the third <h3> and so on.
NOTE: Writing the <h2> to <h6> tags is the same process of the <h1> tag, except that 1 in <h1> is replaced with 2, 3, 4, 5 or 6.
The headings should be used as headings and as headings alone. DO NOT use headings to make text bigger (that's the work of another tag) as search engines use headings to determine the structure of your page and it will help in SEO.

I assume by now you should have known these:
1) A CSS rule can be defined in an inline style i.e embedded within the HTML element it modifies.
2) A CSS rule can be defined in an internal sheet placed in the head section of an HTML document with the <style> and </style> tags.
3) A CSS rule can be defined in an external sheet which contains CSS rules that are used to modify an HTML document.
4) The CSS external sheet is saved with a .css extension and is linked to an HTML document in the head section with the <link> tag.
5)How to write CSS rules with the 3 types of selectors.

We shall now delve into styling, focusing on how we can manipulate the declarations in a CSS rule.

2- Class Selectors: In contrast to id selectors, class selectors are used to style elements that appear many times in an HTML document.
THe major differences between id selectors and class selectors syntax is-
a)Instead of a # sign, class selector names are preceded with a dot .
b)In the HTML document, they are included by using an attribute class and the value will be the na,e of the class. In other words, class="nameofclass"
c)A CSS rule defined with a class selector can appear many times in an HTML document.
A CSS rule defined in a sheet as:
.fontstyle
{color: green;
font-size:16px;
}

Would appear in an HTML document as:
class="fontstyle"

PART 4: CSS Selectors
Apart from HTML elements, we can use other items as selectors. These other items are id and class selectors.
1- Id Selectors: ID selectors are used to style just one element in an HTML document. A # sign precedes the name of the id. E.g #nameofid. The name of the id can be anything (but should not start with a number),that adequately describes the element being modified. We should remember that in this case, the selector is not an HTML element (p, h2,e.t.c), so we need to specify a name for it in the HTML document. This is done by typing an attribute id and making its value the name of the id. In other words, type- id="nameofid"
Example:
A CSS style would be written like this in a CSS sheet:
#box
{color:green;}

In the .html file, it would be:
id="box"

TIP: Due to the reason that id's can be used only once in a page, use them in specific areas of a page like headers, footers e.t.c
NOTE: When it is said that an id can be used only once in a page, it means an id="box1" can be included only once in the HTML document. It does not mean that another id like id="box2" can't be included. Different ids' can be used as long as they don't have the same name.
