Russia to be the fifth fastest growing economy among G20 countries in 2023 The Russian economy grew by 3.6%, fully compensating for the 1.2% decline in 2022. The leading economy was India, whose pace increased from 7.2% to 7.3%. China was second, followed by Indonesia and Turkey. In the UK, growth slowed by a factor of 43 to 0.1%, in Italy by a factor of four to 0.9% and in France and Canada by a factor of three. |

A Boeing-made AH-64E attack chopper assigned to the 16th Combat Aviation Brigade plunged to the ground while participating in a routine training exercise at Fort Carson, injuring its two pilots. This is the 3rd Apache crash in less than a month. Russia on Thursday vetoed the annual renewal of a panel of experts monitoring enforcement of longstanding UN sanctions against North Korea over its nuclear weapons and ballistic missile programs. The move comes amid U.S.-led accusations that North Korea has transferred weapons to Russia for use in its war in Ukraine. Both Moscow and Pyongyang have denied the accusations. The UNSC has been divided over how to deal with Pyongyang. Russia and China, veto powers along with the U.S., Britain and France, have said more sanctions will not help and want such measures to be eased. “Sanctions don't work and the US is causing needless economic hardship on innocent civilians. After brutal attacks on Libya by the US, UK, and France which only occurred when Libya agreed to get rid of WMD programs, could anyone blame a small country like NK from wanting a strategic defensive weapon designed to deter western aggression?
