attackgat: World renowned British author, Frederick Forsyth, was cremated and buried today in England, with Biafrans in attedance to support his family and friends. Frederick Forsyth wrote several classic novels such such as The Day of the Jackal, The Odessa File, The Fourth Protocol, The Dogs of War, The Devil's Alternative that have all been made into movies. He has sold over 70 million books worldwide.
Forsyth started as a journalist for the BBC and was sent to cover the tumultuous events that happened in Nigeria in the mid 60's. He was in the Eastern Region when Ojukwu declared Biafra and stayed on to cover the war. He became close to Ojukwu and did his best to report to the outside world the horrors he witnessed inside Biafra, calling on the international community to help Biafrans with food and medical aid. He would later write the book "The Biafran Story" where he recounted his experience in Biafra. He remained a life long friend of Biafran's
In 2020, during reflection of 50 years since the war ended, Forsyth wrote this in the popular Guardian Newspaper of London:
Buried for 50 years: Britain’s shameful role in the Biafran war. A million children starved to death. I’m haunted by the images I saw there – and by the complicity of the Wilson government
This referred to the civil war in Nigeria that ended 50 years ago this month. It stemmed from the decision of the people of the eastern region of that already riot-racked country to strike for independence as the Republic of Biafra. As I learned when I got there as a BBC correspondent, the Biafrans, mostly of the Igbo people, had their reasons.
The federal government in Lagos was a brutal military dictatorship that came to power in 1966 in a bloodbath. During and following that coup, the northern and western regions were swept by a pogrom in which thousands of resident Igbo were slaughtered. The federal government lifted not a finger to help. It was led by an affable British-educated colonel, Yakubu Gowon. But he was a puppet. The true rulers were a group of northern Nigerian colonels. The crisis deepened, and in early 1967 eastern Nigeria, harbouring about 1.8 million refugees, sought restitution. A British-organised conference was held in Ghana and a concordat agreed. But Gowon, returning home, was flatly contradicted by the colonels, who tore up his terms and reneged on the lot. In April the Eastern Region formally seceded and on 7 July, the federal government declared war.
Biafra was led by the Eastern Region’s Oxford-educated former military governor, “Emeka” Ojukwu. London, ignoring all evidence that it was Lagos that reneged on the deal, denounced the secession, made no attempt to mediate and declared total support for Nigeria.
Frederick Forsyth had never been to Africa until he was sent by the BBC to report on the Nigerian Civil War between Biafra and Nigeria. He spent the first half of 1967 covering the conflict. At the time, most observers believed the war would be brief, given Biafra’s limited weapons and poor preparation, especially in contrast to the Nigerian military, which was backed with British arms.
When his initial assignment came to an end, Forsyth asked the BBC for more time to continue reporting. The request was denied, with the BBC stating simply, “It is not our policy to cover this war.” Forsyth was taken aback—especially since the Vietnam War was receiving daily global attention and criticism, while this British-linked conflict was being quietly overlooked. He suspected the BBC’s refusal was part of deliberate editorial suppression—what he called “news management”—something he firmly opposed.
Determined to speak the truth, Forsyth took matters into his own hands. He resigned from the BBC, returned to Nigeria independently, and spent most of the next two years on the ground, reporting the war on his own terms and bearing witness to its devastating realities.
Slytiger: The IMF has approved the disbursement of $32.8 million to Burkina Faso to support agricultural production. This brings the total amount provided by the IMF since the coup to $131.3 million.
Napoleon Complex. The Napoleon Complex is a popular psychological term used to describe a perceived condition in which shorter individuals—especially men—are overly aggressive or domineering in order to compensate for their lack of height.
ruffhandu: Nigerian married women have gone Haywire: This One Is Unheard Of
Caveat: You don't need to watch the video, I'll summarize and give you even more context.
This is the first time I will hear a Nigerian woman desisting from giving birth to a child in Nigeria because she wants to maintain her shape. In Nigeria of all places where childless women are called barren just after one year of marriage, where they face immense pressure from their family, the man's family, and the society at large. A society where they are shamed and looked upon as having lived filthy lives and, in most cases, nobody ever looks the husband's way, the woman is always the first to be blamed.
Now here, a cult disguised as a club where only married women are members. They are coached on how to prevent themselves from getting pregnant so they continue to look elegant and beautiful. Some, like the lady in this video, did not only rely on pregnancy-preventing pills, she did other forms of family planning just to be double sure she doesn't get pregnant.
The reason why I tag the club a coven is that these women are so wicked that they not only pretend to their husbands to be innocent , they most times initiate the moves to go with him in search of solution. The sucker in this act is that it elicits more trust from the husbands and and blinds them from even reasoning clearly. Imagine one of the women prays 3 hours every night for the fruit of the womb, the man was hooked.
One of the men, on one of their numerous visits to the hospital, was called aside by the doctor who had conducted deep tests on the wife and reliably informed the man that the woman had been consuming something that had been preventing her from taking in. Instead of the man to conduct an independent investigation to ascertain the veracity of the claim, he "subtly" confronted the wife, which of course she denied.
The tragedies is this dilemma is that most of the men are taken to white garment churches amongst other places they were taken to (hospital, churches, native doctors, herbalists, etc), where they are flogged. At least in one case, the couple were flogged mercilessly. This has not mentioned the amount of money the man is made to shell out in the search. Some have flown these women abroad in search of solution.
One wise woman, once her dear husband suggested taking a second wife who will bear them children, she covertly got pregnant immediately and tricked her club members. Disappeared for a while, and after delivery, hired a nanny to take care of the child. Five years later, she took in again, hoping to pull off the same stunt. Mind you, the first child was born 10 long years after their marriage.
Advice to men: If medicine has proven that both of you are ok and fit to have a child, and you are still childless, do the following: 1. Be observant to see that your wife does not take anything immediately after sex. 2, If there be any medication both of you should be taking for fertility, make sure she takes her own (they are able to deceive the man that they have taken it. If it is tablet, they hide it in their mouth and shift to dispose of it in the toilet. Another said she consumes another substance that looks similar to the concoction they are given. Like when they are given animal urine, she arranges lucozade or wine, or some soda to drink in his presence.) 3. If you are rich. Arrange for abroad treatment. Find a way to make her accidentally lose her luggage (including her handbag), then while abroad guard her like a toddler to ensure she doesn't visit a pharmacy, then make sure you knack her everyday. 4. If you can, also arrange with a good doctor to ascertain that she is not undergoing any form of family planning (especially the one they implant). 5. If you notice your wife belongs to any association, pry in as know exactly what is going on there. 6. Discuss having a second wife. Many of them rely on the fact that the man may get tired and seek to adopt a child, which they will gladly accept. Honestly, the foolishness of these women beat me. 7. Some of the women said they gave in to the invitation because their husband had emphasised on their shape while they were dating and they feared he may leave them if they lose the shape. To this, I advise men to be subtle about this and help their wife stay fit, WOMEN ARE NOT SUPPOSED TO LOOK EXACTLY THE WAY THEY DID AFTER CHILDBIRTH AND BREASTFEEDING, IF YOU GET IT EXACTLY THE SAME BEFORE AND AFTER, NA LUCK.
Advice to Women. 1. If you need to maintain your shape, you know what to do. 2. If you must form a club of married women to war against losing shape, it should be teaching them how to maintain shape after childbirth, don't be foolish and evil. to even think that this club goes about recruiting newly married women is not only self-destructive, it is a crime against the institution called marriage.
Although many things could lead to childlessness, including witches and wizards, village people, God's timing, medical conditions, etc. But this self-inflicted childlessness from women is one thing I do not understand and may never understand. If this is happening in western countries, I won't bat an eyelid. But in Nigeria? Something is definitely wrong. E be many things for these days. These women are worse than the devil. Imagine your wife causing her childlessness, causing you shame, making you spend money unnecessarily, causing you bodily harm, wasting your time, and causing you financial strain. I simply spit.
fergie001: If there is one thing I was sure President Tinubu will get right is to have a competent team. His cabinet is a joke, the largest in Nigeria's history. Maybe there are only 5 Ministers that can be called Ministers in my time, 20 years prior. Who is the Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala in this cabinet. Who is the Oby Ezekwesili?
Asked if his anger was his been dropped as a Monster
El-Rufai: Anytime I wake up and see President Tinubu and his team inflicting pains on Nigerians and bungle the simplest things in Governance, things I knew even as DG of BPE,, these guys can't just get it right, I thank God, I am a lucky person. I thank God for saving me from the embarrassment of explaining to be part of this disaster.
Kudos to the true Omoluabis who see and say the truth, and do not support evil. Tinubu is a disaster that every Nigerian has witnessed.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu made a personal revelation on Monday during the official launch of tractors and agricultural equipment under the Renewed Hope Agricultural Mechanization Programme, held in collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security, News360 Nigeria reports.
While addressing guests, the President introduced a long-time acquaintance, Alex, to the audience, saying, “To all of you, Alex was my very good neighbor and went to the same school with me in Chicago. Alex is a successful businessman from Belarus.”
The lighthearted moment drew applause from attendees as President Tinubu emphasized the importance of international business relationships and personal ties in national development.
News360 Nigeria reports that during the build-up to the 2023 presidential elections, questions surrounding Tinubu’s academic history at Chicago State University became a heated topic in Nigeria, with critics and opposition figures frequently demanding proof of his academic records or colleagues.
This appearance by Alex marks the first public instance of a schoolmate from Chicago being introduced by the President, a moment that will likely stir reactions among Nigerians who followed the controversy closely.
