PoliticsRe: Nigerians Kick As APC Disowns Buhari’s Campaign Promises - PUNCH by iyrojc(m): 6:03am On Sep 01, 2015
PassingShot:
Wrong for APC to deny the 100 day in office promise.

However, Nigeria is already witnessing unprecedented change in some key areas that matter:
1. Electricity has improved despite that the Otuoke man promised us to expect better supply by March 2016.

2. Blocking of wastages and loopholes have resulted in increase in our foreign reserves despite that GEJ/PDP practically emptied same. They met it at $47.7bn, sold crude at average of $100 per barrel and still found a way to reduce the reserve to just $29bn. Incredulous!

3. Better accountability with income has resulted in increase in allocation to the three tiers of govts despite reduced income from crude sale.

4. The fight has been taken to the Boko terrorists unlike the other way round in the past.

5. Our image has experienced a positive outlook and no Ghana Prof or Kenyans can dare insult our dear country.

6, Stealing is NOW corruption and everybody seems to be keying in.

7. Some refineries have started working since July as against the 2016 promised by PDP

8. NNPC is being restructured so that it returns to profitability very soon.

No regrets supporting PMB/VPYO. Let wailers wail for it's their destiny to do so.
It is obvious that you hate Jonathan but my brother, NNPC and electricity was Jonathan's work. Stop attributing another Man's effort and Work to another person who has never for once Sat on His presidential seat but has been touring round the world. Even if Jonathan's regime was corrupt, that doesn't mean you should forget His works in a hurry. Afterall, is there any president as corrupt as OBJ but yet president Ya'radua inspite of that did tremendous work. It's only a bad workman that quarrels with His tools. The system was messed up and they knew it and made all those promises. They should fulfill it.

PoliticsRe: "Alleged Boko Haram Member Disguised As Woman Was A Nigerian Soldier" - SR by iyrojc(m): 5:43pm On Aug 26, 2015
ibrodex:
Several months ago, as associates of former President Goodluck Jonathan pushed the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to postpone the 2015 general elections, a video was released of an alleged Islamist terrorist caught in a woman’s dress. However, a video obtained by our correspondent revealed that the man presented to the Nigerian public as a Boko Haram insurgent is an enlisted Nigerian soldier serving at the time as a member of a multinational military task force operating in Nigeria’s northeast.

In making a case for postponing the presidential election that had been scheduled for February 14, 2015, Mr. Jonathan’s National Security Adviser, Colonel Sambo Dasuki (rtd), had claimed that Nigeria needed to launch an offensive to dislodge Boko Haram from the northeast and end insurgency.

Shortly before and after the elections were postponed, Nigerian troops ramped up the fight against Boko Haram, liberating areas hitherto captured by the insurgents.

The troops released photos of weapons it claimed to have seized from the insurgents. However, some of the photos bore timestamps indicating the shots were taken as far back as 2011.

In an intriguing twist just uncovered by our correspondent, the remarkable photo and account of a man disguised as a woman has been exposed as a ruse as well. The military had claimed that the man was an insurgent captured after a fierce operation led by the Nigerian Air Force.

But a 10-minute video clip of the man’s interrogation showed the man clearly revealing that he was a soldier. During what appeared to be a debriefing session with an officer who was taking notes, the man explained that he had been in hiding after Boko Haram fighters overran his military post. He had been in hiding until Nigerian soldiers and Air Force liberated his hideout.

Although the unnamed soldier wore women clothes, he also had his army uniform on his lap during the interrogation. Throughout the interrogation, the man spoke in pidgin English. He told his interrogators about the might of Boko Haram fighters and described how members of the sect moved their families from the scene of a recent bombing. At a point he expressed surprise that, despite the movement of Boko Haram fighters in long convoys, the insurgents were never subjected to aerial bombardment by Air Force jets.

The soldier appeared to plead with the senior officer debriefing him at the end of the video, which had apparently been edited for clarity and brevity.

SaharaReporters was unable to reach any senior military officer to explain why the soldier was presented to the public as a Boko Haram member.

You did the right thing. Your belief is more precious than anything you can think of. I once got a job in a school, but what disqualified me was that the principal and some of the school head told me they assist students in their SSCE so as to promote the school. I told them it was against my faith as such i won't do it. They tried convincing me but to no avail. That was how i left them. Today i am in a school far better than them. My brother, It was a tough decision but i had to take it because it was about my faith which i value more than anything. Just remember what God did for Joseph, Daniel, Shedrack etc. He will do it for you. Just smile. No shaking

Aside the bad roads in Abia, Okezie has a lot of challenges, ranging from high school fees in the high institutions in Abia, unpaid salaries of Abia workers. Abia state allocation has been seized by a Bank that funded some state projects, increased rate of thuggery. Illegal groups that claim to be government Agencies etc..... . Let's see how OVI will address this.

PoliticsRe: Buhari Never Promised APC To Make Naira Equal To Dollar – APC by iyrojc(m): 6:45am On Apr 17, 2015
wisdomguy4u:
The All Progressives Congress (APC) has denied
that its presidential candidate, Muhammadu
Buhari, promised to bring the naira at par with the
dollar if voted into power come March, 28, 2015.
APC also promised to implement the
recommendations of the Presidential Committee
on the Restructuring and Rationalisation of Federal
Government Parastatals, Commissions and
Agencies to merge or scrap some agencies and
parastatals.

Speaking on Tuesday, Director, Policies and
Strategy of the APC campaign group, Bolaji
Abdullahi, made the clarification on Tuesday at the
Nigeria Political Parties Discussion Series (NPPDS)
organised by the Centre for Democracy and
Development (CDD) in Abuja, with the theme;
‘Manifesto Hour: Political Parties and the Citizenry’.

According to him, what Buhari said was that the
current exchange rate of the naira to the dollar was
unacceptable.
“Buhari never said, ‘I will bring naira at par with the
dollars’, he said the current exchange rate was
unacceptable.
“We are going to restructure the way we educate
our youths. We cannot continue to educate our
youths in the way of the 1960s,” he stated.
He also faulted the current educational system,
which gives preference to university education,
saying his party would restructure the system such
that every youth would be employable after
graduation.

While promising to also give the issues of people
living with disabilities adequate focus, he disclosed
that a social security programme has been planned
in which the most vulnerable in the society would
be given N5, 000 per month

Earlier, APC Publicity Secretary, Lai Mohammed,
said his party’s manifesto centres on job creation,
corruption and security.

PoliticsRe: Final Result For Abia State Governorship Election. INEC DECLARE PDP WINNER by iyrojc(m): 6:13am On Apr 15, 2015
Remarkable:
Tis been a while that I'd been trying to say the same thing to the poster you replied, as well as a particular poster that goes by Asha80, as well as others too... that all the negative news about Abia does not represent, even slightly, what is going on in the state. That Aba was not milked as a cash cow does not mean the governor did nothing either during his 2 terms in office. They usually go from saying he did absolutely "nothing" to criticizing the works that I manage to find online for them, saying its low standard blah blah blah. A state that had no government house is right, the capital, Umuahia, being more of an administrative town than a commercial location, will lack efficiency and effectiveness without the infrastructure and utilities for performing their functions.

Would a sellfish governor build a government house that he will vacate after his tenure is finished? or the state broadcasting station, BCA that now has a befitting complex, etc etc.... are all acts of altruism that Orji Uzor Kalu did. No one can point today something Orji Uzor did that still stands today he isn't in office.

Yet it was The Sun that championed all the false and negative news about Abia being the worst state etc....

What T. A accomplished in helath is worth mentioning, and the rewards he received attest to that.... I could go on and on... butin any case, i'll drop it here. I believe Okezie is a well qualified man and never doubted him from when I heard him speak of his plan for Aba, Oti also convinced me.

However, it was out of fairness that I decided to root and hope Okezie wins. The Ngwa/Ukwa-ngwa has never produced the governor since the creation of abia state. however, if his case was like that of Buhari, where on the grounds of fairness to the north to have back their Yar'adua truncated tenure, they present someone that should be retired or is not not well "qualified" (in my own view) for the job of governor... I wouldn't have supported him.

I believe Okezie has what it takes.

I believe can change Abia state... beginning from the historic town of Aba.

Oti can wait. 8 years will go quickly, 4, if Okezie fails in his mandate... when it comes back to Abia north senatorial distric, the Aros or other "villages" can come out with Oti or whomever.

If things change and they decide its Oti that won? I won't feel bad because I believe he is also capable. The way I see it?

It is a win-win for Abians. Thos ewhom has bought orji Uzor Kalu's antagonistic reports agaist T.A. Orji will definitely not think so.. but who cares? Okezie, I am sure, will deliver. wil be shocked if he doesn't... but my prayers are for him to go far and beyond our expectations.... while OUK can go and ... (do the needful. lol.

N.B. Dissociating himself from O.U. Kalu is the best thing T.A. did. Transfering money meant for teachers' salaries etc being hijacked and paid to OU Kalu as repayment for campaigning expenses while T.A. Orji was incarcerated is/was the most ridiculous and outrageous thing to befall Abia state - God's own state, God's own people.
God have mercy on you. I don't think you are Ok.

When people want to run you down, they turn to character assassination.

Okezie is from the same village with Sen Abaribe, Achor Nwakama and many others i cant remember their names, these are top politicians, this village is made up of politicians. Top ones too, and they are well educated are mostly successful.
Okezie has a house, not an edifice, but the respect of a man is to have his own house and home. Okezie has a nice house in his village, I can tell because I am from a neighboring community, and my mom is from the same community with him, Ahiaba ancient kingdom in Obingwa L.G.A.
and one thing about the whole thing is, Okezie is Aba man, in and out, he knows the pains Aba people are feeling. His hometown is only a matter of 5km from main city of Aba.

He is highly educated and a lecturer, he is a very good man, very very good man, everyone testifies to that.
The whole L.G.A came out for him. and Obingwa has the highest population in the Abia state.
My Brother, that Okezie Ikpeazu's "C.V" and "MANIFESTO" you just read is a nice one, Okezie is good, no doubt, i have no problem with him. But he is being sponsored by a Thief and His son. 8yrs is not days. The major problem of Abia is not bad road in Aba. What of civil servants that have not been paid. Do you know that Abia state allocation has been seized by a bank Thief. A Orji is owing. Bros, Okezie is going there as T. A's pawn. Look at the people surrounding Okezie; Ikuku(T.A's son), his running mate, udo oko(T.A's boy). Bros wake up.
