FashionRe: I Lightened My Skin And I Now Have Multiple Stretch Marks by Izadibabe: 1:15pm On Oct 28, 2019
Vieamie:
Well, Alot Of People Have Used It And It Worked For Them.
It might work but will damage the fragile skin. Op already used chemicals that "worked" and made her skin lighter but the side effect of that is what we are now contending with on this thread. That it works does not mean there won't be consequences. Everyone needs to be educated about what goes onto and into our body. We have only one.
FashionRe: I Lightened My Skin And I Now Have Multiple Stretch Marks by Izadibabe: 1:00pm On Oct 28, 2019
Vieamie:
Lemon Juice Mix With Baking Soda( Not Baking Powder O!). Scrub Your Face With It.
Lemon juice and baking soda are very harsh chemicals that should not be applied on the skin - our skin is delicate so please do not use on it.
FashionRe: I Lightened My Skin And I Now Have Multiple Stretch Marks by Izadibabe:
Op, please pay no mind to the people condemning you.

Everyone makes mistakes but the important thing is realisation and ownership.

The stretch marks are bad but thank God it's not skin cancer, so it can be fixed.

Now that you have opened up about the issue, the best Advise I have is similar to one from a previous poster but with more details on steps to take as follows:

1. Stop using the lightening cream immediately no matter the reaction.

2. Use 1/4 portion Palmer's Cocoa butter cream, mixed thoroughly with 1/4 portion Organic Shea butter, 1/4 portion organic coconut oil or Rapeseed Oil, 1/8 natural honey and apply daily morning and evening all over your body to hydrate, moisturize and repair the skin.

3. Drink 8 to 10 cups of water throughout the day to keep your skin hydrated and reduce the stretch marks.

4. Please start taking these specific fruit / veg to improve the skin elasticity - mix 1/2 avocado, 100g spinach or ugwu leaf, 100g Cucumber, 1 apple, 1 garlic clove, thumb size ginger.

You can eat them chopped up as salad or make smoothie with it using 1 cup of water. Consume once a day.

5. If you are overweight try to cut down on carb intake. Eat low carb meals and lots of vegetables daily.

If you need more info on healthy meals then hit me up on Instagram on my page @shapefixers

Most of all good luck and keep safe.
CelebritiesRe: Anita Solomon, The Other Woman Toke Makinwa Talked About In Her Book by Izadibabe: 11:46pm On Nov 28, 2016
MrMandilas:
Really? Maybe Anita was there before her. Maybe she was the one forcing herself into his heart...Just maybe!
I agree totally.

Toke met the Anita girl with the Maje of a guy but still fixed herself in the middle trying to displace her with ogboju.

Even when the Maje married her, his heart was never for Toke and that's why he kept running back to Anita.

Toke is not even ashamed to state publicly that her husband was having withdrawal sex with her but not with the so called side chick! Na wa oh!!!

He infected her with STD and denied her but showed ongoing concern for the so called "side chick" to make sure the STD was treated properly in Anita's case, chasing her for updates from the doctor.

This means that Maje married Toke for fame and money but kept his man juice strictly for the only honey pot he felt deserved the honour of being called the mother of his future children - the Anita lady.

So marriage or no marriage, Toke was his paper wife while Anita was the real deal for the guy, the wife of his loins and his heart.

I pray Toke can get some wisdom, sit down with herself for a sincere heart to heart talk and shut down this her sob story for good. She tried to snatch somebody else's man and instead got played for the dumb bimbo that she is. She should let it go already and get over it.

CrimeRe: Sugabelly Alleged Rape: A Pure Case Of Blackmail, Intimidation And Lies by Izadibabe: 1:15am On Nov 28, 2015
I don't care what you say...I believe Sugabelly and this is what I said on her blog to encourage her below because I know all those sadistic men that rape women violently will always support their kindred.

"You are such a brave person to speak up!
You have taken the first step towards your recovery and healing.
Please don’t pay any attention to the ignorant fools that are pretending they don’t know what many sick boys and men do to vulnerable young women in many big towns all over Nigeria.
In Port Harcourt where I grew up gang-raping girls was very rampant and was called ‘Alato’.
Luckily my sisters and I had an overly protective and psycho brother that watched over us like a hawk and we never fell victims to this madness.
God will ensure those animals that molested you die wretchedly and visit the same vile sodomization on their mothers, sisters, daughters and even their grandmothers if those ones are still alive. May they themselves be raped through the anus with a rusty jagged metal pole.
It is well with you for you are a survivor and never a victim. I STAND with #Sugabelly. You are much loved and truly blessed, don’t ever forget that!"
RomanceRe: Things An "Average-Looking" Girl Can Do That Will Increase Her "Market Value" by Izadibabe: 9:58pm On Oct 06, 2015
ronald4lif:
What a thread. Men be appropriating themselves false sense of importance and think they are the best thing to happen to women after roasted corn. Such mentality is why we think we're doing women a favour by marrying them. How a man would assume a woman has to adapt to his ways before she can be seen as a 'market valuable' or whatever that means is mind boggling.

I almost threw up when I read someone cite an example as when footballers are being sold to another club to give credence to a narrow minded sexism post that is designed to further subjugate women. Never read something as folderol as that comparison commercialising women.

A woman doesn't have to live their lives to suit men and be seen as a 'market value' to any one. Marriage is not the goal of every woman to have to live to please a man or make him propose. What this thread is suggesting is that women should stop being their natural self and jettison habits men find to be offensive and abhorrent. We don't have the right to dictate and set principles on how anyone should their lives.
Abeg you are too much...very matured observation on a very useless and disrespectful thread!

It is this rubbish mindset that gets Nigerian men in trouble when they take this barbarian mentality to civilised countries. Nigerian women have really suffered, I swear!!!

Hi Op,

This is a hammer headed Bat that is native to Africa and feeds on the blood of livestock so the fish pond will be a great place for them to get fresh blood from the fishes. It's also the Bat that is responsible for spreading Ebola Virus so try not to touch them if you come across another one.

PoliticsOpinion Polls Predicted Outcome Of Nigerian Elections by Izadibabe(op): 11:29am On Apr 13, 2015
Nigerians have come to the end of the 2015 election season and can now breath a sigh of relief that it was a largely peaceful and orderly process,

The results have revealed a seismic shift in the balance of power following the resounding success of the opposition APC party, whose presidential flag bearer General Muhammadu Buhari won the election on his fourth attempt vying for the office of the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

The big losers have been the ruling PDP party but for most Nigerians this was not a surprising outcome.

For months and weeks leading up to the elections, various polls and online assessments from the Nigerian Media, Civil Society and people on the streets showed a significant shift towards and preference for the APC's Presidential Candidate.

Even an online poll run on twitter by the President's Aide returned the same results predicting that President Goodluck Jonathan would lose the elections to General Muhammadu Buhari.

However the PDP party and it's Ruling Government officials failed to take any notice of these polls which reflected the pulse and will of the Nigerian people.

Polls and Assessment data are taken very seriously in more developed countries as they provide valuable insights into emerging trends and outcomes.

Perhaps if the government had taken note of such sentiments and tried a different electioneering strategy the results may have been entirely different.

The PDP Party instead spent more time and resource trying to malign the character of the President-Elect which made Nigerians even more determined to vote out the PDP for their perceived arrogance and unruliness.

The outcome of the Governship elections have also followed a similar voting pattern to the Presidential elections with even more inroads being made by the APC to traditional PDP strongholds like Niger, Plateau and Benue. Again these outcomes were largely predicted by citizens being polled on traditional media, twitter and so on.

The result is that the PDP has now been relegated from a National Party to a Regional one with staunch support being provided from only the South South and South Eastern zones of the country.

The incoming government should take heed of public sentiment by using polled data to assess their standing in terms of performance as well as gaining valuable insight into the minds of the people. Polling data provide an effective means of self policing that can help the APC Government avoid the fatal mistakes made by PDP their predecessors, who failed to take any notice of the clear message being passed across by the Nigerian voting public.

EducationRe: My Room Mates Brother Sleeps In A Weird Way! Should I Be Worried? (pictures) by Izadibabe: 10:30am On Mar 19, 2015
This message is for the OP...please note that there is nothing spiritual about this guy's sleeping position, it is called sleeping in the foetal position. Please google it and stop being alarmed, it is nothing spiritual and actually quite common in children who eventually grow out of it but seems this guy didn't.

This is the 21st century and information is now freely available on the internet. We Africans need to do away with all these superstitious beliefs and attaching spiritual connotations to every single thing, it is the major reason we are still lagging behind everyone else in the world.

Irrational beliefs lead to poor reasoning and lack of innovation...Google is now your friend.
ComputersUK Bank Launches Fingerprint Log In Technology For Mobile Banking App by Izadibabe(op): 11:23am On Feb 18, 2015
Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) have launched a new service in the UK for its RBS and NatWest customers enabling them to log on to the bank's mobile application using their fingerprints, becoming the first British bank to do so.
RBS said its new 'Touch ID' would be available for nearly one million Apple iPhone users with RBS or NatWest mobile banking apps. The technology recognizes customers' fingerprints so they don't need to remember a password to log in.
Other UK banks are also investing heavily in digital technology to enable easier customer log in and enhanced fraud prevention. Last year, Barclays Bank launched the finger scanner feature for corporate customers and has plans to roll out a voice recognition service to millions of retail customers.

PoliticsFive Ways Young Nigerians Can Make Money During The Election Season by Izadibabe(op): 4:57pm On Feb 12, 2015
The election season is upon us in Nigeria and there is a lot of politicking going on at the moment.

With all the hype around it, there is a lot of anticipation in the air about what the likely outcome would be and who will end up as our president in Aso Rock.

A keen observation that I have made throughout this period is that once again the political stage has been monopolised by the same band of Grandees that have been in power one way or the other throughout the history of our country.

To me the electioneering has been pretty pedestrian and there is still no concrete evidence of how they are likely to resolve the various problems besieging the country.

In all this, the young people of Nigeria are most notably absent from the list of incoming politicians, the heavy campaigning and the electoral spending spree that is going on right now.

Except for the political thugs, assassins and e-warriors, young Nigerians do not seem to be full participants in the election process and yet we make up the majority of people that are likely to be most affected by the fallout of the policies, actions or inactions of the 2015 poll winner.

So as a concerned citizen who has an opportunistic view of the world, I want to point out a number of ways that the young ones can participate , make money and benefit from the countless opportunities that abound during this election season instead of working as hired thugs or thankless e-warriors.

You can charge whatever fees are most appropriate based on an hourly rate that is fair to all parties and then bill accordingly for hours worked.

There are a long list of likely customers across all political parties such as Local councillors, House of Representatives and Senatorial candidates at state and federal levels, Governorship aspirants even up to the Presidential candidates if you can find a way to market to them.

Twitter, Facebook and google will serve as useful marketing tools for making contact with them.

· Become a Speechwriter:

Help all these political Grandees to communicate more effectively by writing professional speeches for them.

You can also help with coaching them on effective communications, body language, pitch and tone as well as non-verbal cues in addition to helping them create winning and persuasive speeches and arguments.

Lets face it, they need our help to articulate winning ideas for national development and we need their money. So if you have the talent and the access to these people then please do the needful and you could even nab yourself a permanent job after the elections are over.

· Become a Manifesto Consultant:

This is particularly suitable for all the political commentators that abound on various internet platforms like Nairaland and Premium Times. A lot of these young people are offering free and often unsolicited advise on how best they think the incumbent as well as the opposition government can tackle the numerous problems of corruption, boko haram, the economy, health care, infrastructure and power development.

If you have concrete and sound ideas why not think of monetising them by creating a well articulated manifesto that is based on existing and available data with a clear road map of how and when such plans can be implemented using realistic projected framework, budget and resource estimates as well as the operational break down for transitioning the idea successfully to real life.

Trust me you can hammer well and even get a retainer-ship contract from one of these parties because we are still being sold on ideas that are basically elementary level promissory notes as manifesto by all the political parties; most of which have not been substantiated and backed up by rigorous , robust facts and figures.

· Become a Pollster:

we know there have been series of polls being touted here and there with different statistics about the elections and the likely winner.

Why not take the data generated from such polls and create the next level of intelligence, insight and superior argument based on the feelers from the man on the ground?.

Can you interview a focus group of Nigerians and make deductions from the interview on voting patterns by neighbourhoods / wards, local governments, states or geo-political areas?

Can you rate and predict the likely voting outcomes by gender, age groups, professional grouping, low, middle or upper income earners, public and private / business sector groups etc.?

Can you use all information collated to generate heat maps and create even more buzz around the electioneering process? You could sell this packaged information to media outlets for more income.

· Become an image maker:

Let’s face it some of our government officials and politicians need our help with how they portray themselves through various media platforms and in person. Some of them (I won’t mention names) are so garrulous they end up quarrelling with members of the public on twitter and Facebook for the whole world to ridicule us. All these people are so-called elders seeking to lead us and yet they can not conduct themselves in a civilized manner that befits their age and status.

They are helping to aggravate the already checkered and negative impression the world has of Nigerians and Nigeria being run by incompetent and immature people.

Please any young person that has the talent in this area will be doing a patriotic duty by helping such people to project the right image at all times in their communication style, language used and physical presentation (e.g. no shouting at your constituents) especially when in the public domain where it is often difficult to undo the damage of unguarded utterances.

· Become a Political analyst and Policy advisor:

There is an excellent opportunity for a lot of young ones to become political commentators as the electioneering continues.

Start analysing and dissecting the likely impacts of manifesto policies on say the national budget, inflation, economy, security, community welfare, business, exchange rate, foreign relations and so on.

You can also critically assess the performance of political candidates as they make the rounds of media outlets e.g. Candidates Interviews on Channels TV, CNN, Aljazeera and so on. Also you can offer alternative suggestions on how they could have handled a certain interview question to get the most benefit from the platform in promoting their candidacy.

Advise political jobbers where you can, on people friendly policies e.g. there are significant gaps on the knowledge driven economy and ICT policies for the younger generation meanwhile the global trend from leading countries is that this is the next area of major economic boom for them. However throughout the national debate and discourse for the next election not a lot is being said about this.

Rather people are still touting Agricultural Revolution and Resource Exploitation as the magic pill and solution to our economic woes. Although these points are valid, it was probably the solution thirty years ago but the world has moved on since then and many countries are now looking at technological advancement and renewable alternatives as the next frontier for economic empowerment and dominance.

Feel free to contact us on this blog if you need help setting up a viable platform to execute on all of the above suggestions.

HealthRe: Five Common Nigerian Home Remedies And Their Uses by Izadibabe(op): 12:23am On Feb 02, 2015
CoCoLav:
Please I beg you in the name of God, don't use paw paw leaves. My cousin used it and it destroyed his kidneys. He died barely a month later all because of malaria he could have treated with over the counter drugs.
Sorry to hear about your cousin, but everything can be poison to your body even water...the secret is in the dosage.

We know water is good for the body but if you go and ingest 5 litres of water within two hours you can disturb the blood PH and kill yourself in the process.

So everything should be based on recommended daily amount for example even if the paw paw leaves would have cured the ailment, over use will turn it from remedy to poison unless there were other underlying health conditions which could have complicated matters for your cousin.

I would love to hear about your own home remedies....feel free to add yours to this list!

http://naijalondoner..co.uk/2015/01/five-common-nigerian-home-remedies-and.html#more
By popular request, please see below the recommended recipe's

To make one cup (250ml) of warm lemon water with honey

- juice of half lemon (squeezed)
- one 5ml teaspoon of honey ( use unprocessed honey if you can)
- 250ml warm water

Mix all of the above and drink while it is still warm like tea. Drink up to four cups daily for fast effective results.

Coconut oil or palm oil

- for open wounds or sores - wash with clean water, dry with a clean cloth or cotton wool, spray wound with alcholic astringent then drizzle one to two 5ml teaspoon of coconut or palm oil over it

- if using on food as a dressing, drizzle a maximum of 2 teaspoons over food. Recommended daily intake is two 5ml teaspoons a day. Always measure the quantity of oil you use for cooking...

- If frying an egg you need one teaspoon but if cooking a pot of soup for 6 servings then you need about 3 tablespoons of oil. So amend the quantity accordingly when cooking but do not use much if you are ingesting it because of their high fatty content, you only need a little consumed daily to get the full benefits.

- for use on skin or hair, put a small quantity (1 tablespoon) on palm and rub over your skin or hair or mix into your body lotion or hair cream by mixing use 1 part coconut or palm oil to 5 parts lotion (e.g. Use 50ml oil to 250ml lotion)

Vinegar

If using on food drizzle one to two 5ml teaspoon over food, use the same dose if ingesting to calm stomach upset or add to tea e.g. Green tea and drink

If using vinegar as a cleaning agent mix 1 part vinegar to 3 parts water e.g. 100ml vinegar to 300ml water for cleaning. If using for stain removal, do not mix the vinegar with water just spray the vinegar straight on the stain, leave it for 10 minutes then wash or rinse off with clean warm water.

Granulated Sugar

Clean the wound and spray with alcoholic astringent - I normally use perfume before covering the wound entirely with sugar, the deeper the wound the more sugar you will need but usually one or two tablespoons should be sufficient. Repeat regularly when dressing your wound until it is completely dry and healed.

To make sugar scrub

200g sugar
100ml honey
1 tablespoon vanilla extract

Mix all the ingredients together and apply on wet body with flannel then scrub vigorously and rinse off with warm bathing water.

HealthFive Common Nigerian Home Remedies And Their Uses by Izadibabe(op): 10:41pm On Jan 31, 2015
We all have home remedies for combating health, skin and cleaning that have been passed down from generation to generation in Nigeria.
I remember a few of these remedies that were handed down from my mother and grandmother that I still use on my children.

Today, I will be touching on a few of my all-time favourites which are in my "go-to" toolkit and are regularly used around the house by the whole family.

Lemon Juice and Honey in warm water:

This is an age old remedy that I picked up from my grandmother and I have used effectively to combat sore throat, cold and flu symptoms. It's very effective for fighting the cold virus and I have done some basic research to understand the reason this remedy works even better than many leading pharmaceutical brands.

According to the mayo clinic - warm lemon water with honey helps loosen congestion and prevents dehydration as cold viruses thrive under dry conditions. Lemon is also high in vitamin C and is an immune booster which aids your system to fight infections. Honey is also soothing to the sore throat, making it an effective cough suppressant.

You can also add a dash of grated ginger to the mixture to increase the removal of toxins from the body.

Natural Coconut Oil:

The health benefits of coconut oil are well known and documented but we all take the humble coconut for granted particularly as it is very widely available all over Nigeria.

I always make my natural coconut oil by grating the white flesh, straining with water and drying on a gas burner to extract the oil. This is a great addition to the home first aid kit, and works fabulously as a salve on wounds and sores as it helps them heal faster.

Based on the unique combination of fatty oils found in coconut oil it has been shown to have powerful medicinal properties such as boosting energy expenditure by up to 5%, reducing appetite and increasing fat burning, making it a great tool for weight loss.

The Lauric acid found in coconut oil has also been found to kill off bacteria, virus and fungi and so is very good for staving off infections.
Coconut oil is used to improve blood cholesterol levels, for preventing heart disease, to moisturize and protect the hair and skin from damage. It also acts as a sun screen by blocking out up to 20% of the sun's rays.

Natural Palm Oil:

Palm oil is obtained from the fruit of the oil palm tree which is found along the coastal regions of southern Nigeria.

Palm oil has been found to be effective for preventing vitamin A deficiency, cancer, brain disease, aging; and has been used in the treatment of malaria, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and cyanide poisoning.

Palm oil, just like coconut oil is used as a weight loss supplement for increasing the body’s metabolism. It's also great as a first aid salve for healing open wounds.

Palm oil is widely used for industrial purposes such as manufacturing cosmetics, soaps, toothpaste, waxes, lubricants, and ink. Palm oil contains saturated and unsaturated fats, vitamin E, and beta-carotene.

Vinegar:

Vinegar is another common home remedy made from fermenting the juice of crushed fruits such as apples.
It is great as a household cleaning agent and can be used in place of harmful industrial cleaning agents around the house.

Vinegar is also an effective tool for aiding weight loss, strengthening weak bones, reducing leg cramps and pain, upset stomach, sore throats, sinus problems, high blood pressure, arthritis, helping the body get rid of toxins, to stimulate thinking, slow down the aging process, regulate blood pressure, reduce cholesterol, and fight infection.

Some people apply apple cider vinegar to the skin for acne, as a skin toner, to soothe sunburn, for shingles, insect bites, and to prevent dandruff. It is also used in the bath for vaginal infections.

In foods, vinegar is used as a flavouring agent and could help lower blood sugar levels in people with diabetes by changing how foods get absorbed from the gut.

Granulated Sugar:

This is a common staple as it is widely used all over Nigeria as a sweetener and food additive. However it is a secret weapon that is used for treating wounds especially after surgery.

The treatment is thought to work because applying sugar to a wound helps to draw water away from it and prevent bacteria from multiplying, thereby starving the bacteria of what it needs to grow so that they die, drying out the wound and helping it to heal faster.

You can also use granulated sugar, vanilla extract and honey to make a lovely sugar scrub that can be used to exfoliate the skin leaving it fresh and rejuvenated.
I would love to hear about your own home remedies....feel free to add yours to this list!

PoliticsYoung Nigerians In The Diaspora Breaking The Mould And Achieving Their Dreams by Izadibabe(op):
There has always been an amount of stereotyping that most Nigerians who travel out of the country go to their host countries to slave away at menial jobs like care work, cleaning or cab driving but this is a false impression held by a staggering amount of resident Nigerians.

It is well documented in the UK that children from a migrant Nigerian family perform better than the average English kids at school and are the second most successful ethnic groups in the UK only after Asians.

Today I would like to shine the spotlight on a number of Young Diaspora Nigerians that have broken the mould and tapped into the vision that you can achieve your dreams no matter your physical location recognising that with the advent of the internet the world is now truly a global village and you need to be playing on the world stage and not just only at the National level.

Emmanuel Abiodun is the founder of Cloudhashing.com. The company is a pioneer startup leading the way in bitcoin mining which is gradually becoming the defacto currency for internet pundits. Emmanuel worked on his revolutionary start up whilst working as a software engineer for JP Morgan and as an IT contractor for HSBC in the UK. He started his company in 2013 and after receiving investment from friends and private investors has since set up monster server farms in Kansas and Iceland to perform the formidable real time algorithmic processing involved in mining those bitcoins. He currently manages millions of dollars on behalf of early investors who keyed into his vision and on target for record breaking profits.

Ladi Delano is another Nigerian Diaspora Returnee who became an entrepreneur at age 22 selling suits, then building a billion dollar vodka making enterprise in far away china before going on to set up a string of investment, real estate, mining and commodities trading companies. His latest venture is the billion dollar Bakrie Delano Africa (BDA) which is a Joint Venture Partnership with the Bakrie group who are major shareholders in PT Bumi a leading player in the Indonesian Mining, Energy and
Commodities Sector. Ladi is renowned for keeping his fingers in many pies and running multiple business ventures at the same time and he is still under the age of 35.

Clare Eluka is the founder of Premae Skincare range and is a Nigerian Diaspora who got into Skincare production after she was unable to find products for her allergy sensitive skin. Her award winning Tender tots range of products have been featured in Vogue Magazine and she has been featured in the Huffington post, on CNN and on Forbes as one of the top 5 African women to watch. She is less than 30 and has said she achieved her 5 year business plan in less time than she envisaged.

Alongside the aforementioned people there are countless Nigerians in the Diaspora working as Doctors,Lawyers,Engineers, IT experts, Politicians, Investment Bankers, Property Investors and running myriad Businesses across their host countries particularly in the UK and the USA.

All of these people pay local taxes, huge bills to support everyday living abroad and still have enough money to repatriate back to the home country in the tunes of billions of dollars that exceed the annual budgets of 34 out of 36 states in Nigeria (put together) which accounts for a sizeable chunk of Nigeria's National GDP.

This article seeks to encourage, applaud and appreciate every Nigerian's efforts both in the Diaspora and back home in Nigeria as we are a peculiar people blessed beyond believe with the spirit of enterprise who continue to prosper and exceed all expectations in moving forward despite so many challenges that may abound.

HealthSecret Little Helpers That Celebrities Use To Maintain Their Ideal Weight by Izadibabe(op): 6:57pm On Oct 05, 2014
Ever wonder how the celebrities we see on our TV sets always seem to look the same size all the time? Well, it could be down to good genetic make up thanks to their parents or it could simply be down to what I call their secret little helpers.

Contrary to popular belief that these TV and Media stars are able to maintain their sizes because they can afford the luxury of having personal trainers and specialist chefs at their beck and call, they more often are likely to employ other strategies such as;

Regular Detox - Celebrities often embark on regular detox programmes where they cut out a lot of junk food and live on fruit and vegetables for a short period of time ranging from a weekend up to a couple of weeks. This helps them to eliminate toxins from the body, rejuvenate the metabolic system, improve hair and skin texture as well as helping in weight reduction.

Colon cleanses - Some celebrities have been known to undergo a colon cleanse live on TV and some swear by it claiming a range of benefits like aiding weight loss with up to 20 pounds of weight lost over a month. Some also claim other benefits such as helping to maintain regular digestive movement, maintaining the body PH balance, increase in fertility, elimination of toxins and prevention of colon cancer.

Extreme fasting - This technique is used by celebrities to lose weight fast in order to meet the demands of their careers, they include diets such as the air diet where celebrities hold food in their mouths but do not consume it or the maple syrup or grape diets where they have been known to live on nothing but the main ingredients of these diets. The cabbage diet was used by a well known celebrity to lose weight, she ate only soup made of cabbage and green vegetables throughout the day. Yet another has been known to use the Ice diet for weight loss, chewing only ice cubes throughout the fasting period.

Very Low Calorie Diet -These are the most commonly used weapons that celebrities employ to maintain their slim sillouttes. It is also gaining popularity among non celebrities who use this method to lose weight rapidly and for keeping their weight in check. The diet includes meal replacement food packs made of shakes, soups, cereal bars and meals assembled in pre-packed pouches that restrict the amount of calories that can be consumed by the end users. Depending on the number of packs they are allowed to consume on the diet plan; the users' total daily calorie count could range from 600 to 800 calories per day. They are popular because of the ease of use and the fast results that can be seen within a very short period but should only be used for no more than 100 days and only after medical advise has been sought.

drnoel: Yes the international community is involved so also involved are international accomplices. So watz ya point. If shell knew the deal was shady why pay the money b4 blowing the whistle? Why not blow the whistle first and watch the stampede? They blew the whistle cause people they paid money to absconded and didn't honor their part if the deal. So who is fooling who? And who is corrupt here?
They are all corrupt. I do not make any excuses for international oil companies like Shell and Eni as they always act in collusion with the thieving public officials, if not there will be no money for any kickbacks - if no market then there won't be customers.

I think they should also be investigated as part of this to make it more transparent. In the west they usually go after any Executive that participates in such foul play.

shakol91: Please I need someone to tell me when revolution will take place in this country. It's like our politicians are taking us for granted. We speak a lot of grammar when someone from nowhere is trying to cheat us on our 10naira. I've seen a banker fighting Agbero over change in lagos. Is it that we don't care that all this billions shared by few people doesn't belong to us or what's the problem? I believe the best opportunity we lost to start revolution was during the immigration exam,I believe with the large crowd in different states especially Lagos and Abuja no number of force can withstand that. Nigerians we need to see beyond our nose, APC and PDP are the same,cross-carpeting everywhere. Our own party should be revolution.
I agree wholeheartedly that we need a popular revolution. Italy had an internet revolution at the height of the recession few years ago, a group of young people formed an internet party and registered it then voted their people into political positions to knock out the old crooks and the corruption in that country was not the issue, their concern was all about how to rescue their economy. All our hardship in Nigeria are self inflicted because of these long time crooks calling themselves politicians. We need young well meaning Nigerians to really get involved in politics as a lot of us are very active in online politics but we need to translate that into reality.

Malabu Oil Deal: Corrupt Nigerian officials bought private jets, armoured cars with N83 billion bribe

More than half of the N171.32 billion ($1.1 billion) paid to Malabu Oil and Gas for the procurement of one of Nigeria’s richest oil fields, OPL 245 by Shell and Eni was used to bribe Nigerian politicians and intermediaries who helped to secure the controversial deal, Reuters is reporting.
According to a letter seeking the help of UK’s Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) to freeze the assets of those involved, Italian prosecutors said some of the N83 billion ($533 million) slush money was used to buy private jets and armoured vehicles.
“We are investigating many money transfers to many people in various countries who received sums that vary from millions of dollars to thousands of dollars,” Reuters claimed the letter reads.
British prosecutors acting on the request have already frozen two accounts with combined sum of N29.5 billion ($190 million) belonging to the chief intermediary, Emeka Obi.
Former oil minister, who was convicted for money laundering in France, Dan Etete, owns Malabu Oil and Gas. The company was incorporated five days before the oil block was awarded to it in 1998 during the regime of military dictator, Sani Abacha.
While trying to cover his link with the company, Mr. Etete registered the company with a fictitious director, Kweku Amafegha. The company also listed a fake address in registration documents.

Mr. Etete confessed to a British court in 2013 that former President, Olusegun Obasanjo, demanded a slice of the oil block as bribe.
The Federal Government acted as a conduit for the fund after Shell and Eni raised concerns over transferring the money directly to Malabu due to Mr Etete’s conviction.
PREMIUM TIMES investigation revealed that after the money was paid to the Federal Government account, it transferred N120 billion ($801 million) to Malabu’s account.
The Attorney General of the Federation, Mohammed Adoke, and Minister of State for Finance, Yerima Ngama, authorized the transfers.
The company subsequently transferred the money to shady companies with fake addresses.
Despite overwhelming evidences showing that Shell and Eni are aware that the money would be paid to a character with a shady background, officials of the companies have denied any wrong doing in the affair.
For instance prosecutors said that a senior official of Shell had a face-to-face meeting with Mr. Etete over expensive “lunch and lots of iced champagne” few moths before the money was transferred to the Nigerian government.
An email presented during the trial also mentioned that the Shell official who feted with Mr Etete would refer to someone in The Hague known as “Peter” over the terms of the deal. Curiously, Shell’s CEO is named Peter Voser.
The Italian prosecutors are investigating the role of Eni’s former CEO, Paola Scaroni and his successor Claudio Descalzi, for alleged international corruption over the scandal.
