After reading every post on this forum from the beginning i think i should drop a line here. The guys that began this forum were talking about CYPRUS meaning republic of Cyprus. The would be moderator Kheme has done a wonderful job by giving you all honest descriptions of the true of situation North Cyprus which i will advice every reader to listen to. Unfortunately Kheme you forgot along the line to draw a fine line between the Republic of Cyprus and North Cyprus.

For those of you who seek European education or just want to leave Nigeria for Europe sorry to tell you that North Cyprus which kheme has describe perfectly well is NOT Europe. Cyprus is a greek island and was created oct 1st 1960 just like Nigeria and but invaded by turkey in 1983. In 1983 Turkish Cypriots proclaimed the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus which is recognised only by Turkey. Cyprus is a partial shengien and a full member of the EU with its official currency is EURO not Lira. This is my 3rd year work and study in the greek european cyprus and experiences are quite different but i've been to the north cyprus numerous times. This is your normal European city with all privileges, opportunities etc if you soji yourself and possibly full shengien membership this febuary.

Havin said that Education on the north side is much cheaper but thats a much as you get. It’s recognition is not strong because its not actually a country and not european. Education here is not as cheap as the north cyprus but not as expensive as UK, US etc. Kheme also excluded the fact that over 20 student annually pay good money to cross from the north cyprus to republic of cyprus in search of better jobs etc. He also omitted the fact that with a visa to cyprus you can go to the northside as many times a day as you wish but from the north side its impossible for even turkish how much more foreigner. 250k for a visa to north cyprus after your fees et al? I’m not sure wat the rate for Cyprus visa is now but i’m 100% sure it not up to that amount by far less than 100k. Their embassy is at leventis building iddo house beside coca cola at oyingbo.

The cost of living here is much higher but so is the income. Many students work to support their parents. The minimum wage is 4euro/hr s on a standard 8hrs shift you earn 30-50euro a day depending on the job. However Europe means european laws apply and students are allowed only 20hrs of work when skool is in session. Similar to the north cyprus, this place is good if you have someone to at least pay your school fees and you hustle the rest. Surviving here is simple if you are strong and big you’ll get bouncer / security jobs, construction jobs. If you an entertainer, dj, singer you’ll get the clubs work and bar job. Did i hear you say white collar jobs?? FORGET IT!! Best you can get is cyprus companies like leventis, coca cola, flourmill nigeria, pwc, delloite who can employ you from here to work in nigeria after your degree. Open days are held annually in most universities and i have two friends working good jobs in nigera now via this means.

Summary if you have the means go to Republic of Cyprus DO NOT go to north cyprus, I personal know over 50 nigerian cross over refugees many of whom where students that bandoned their fees to cross over from the north side.
Information on good skools, procedure etc will follow
