Hi @genexy

Congratulations!

Print your ticket; pack your luggage(s) & see if it meet-up or exceed the 23kg (×2) free luggage weight allowed;
**if your luggage exceed this weight then holla them up (Turkish Airline) on how to purchase excess luggage voucher before your travel date. I THINK it's €150 for up to 30kg of excess luggage. Pls check with them on phone Or pop down to their office **

As 9ja system requires, I'll suggest you call wakanow & just confirm your ticket.

24hrs before your flight, you can do on-line check-in with most airlines (on their websites), it saves you time when getting your boarding pass on the day you are travelling.
N.B: this ain't compulsory. You may or may not do the online checking thing.
-by the way, check the prohibited items you are not allowed to have with you especially in your cabin (hand) luggage.
This is just a Lil of what I think might benefit you.
Safe journey pal. And good luck with everything.

Safe!

[quote author=sureb0y post=37077073]Update from me. Embassy has confirmed they've received a letter from Mutual Benefits. It came as an email and also, a hard copy delivered at the embassy. Now I have to wait for the "verification department" to verify whatever it is they want to verify after which they would contact migri with their findings and wait for migri to decide on what to do. They've said they would contact me when all has been done. Until then, I've been told to WAIT. The wait is already depressing, nothing else I can do sha. My morale don low. How stupid of them to say they accept insurance policies from Mutual, have access to Mutual's portal to check and verify stuff yet they've been so ineffective. Since July 2!!! God dey

Hi fellas

Quick question to those whose RP have been granted and those who may know.
What is the estimated time from when the Finnish immigration service grants RP to when the embassy in Abuja mail for the availability of one RP?

Thanks

Have a lovely day.

@sureb0y
I feel your pain brother! I pray and hope that this palava
get sorted soon because of you travel plan. My lil advice for you Bro, is to ask to see and speak with the branch manager of that company, this is extremely urgent of upmost portal to you. He HAS to provide a writen note/letter address to the embassy confirming your travel H/insurance as genuine and had been issued by them. This, with his direct contact info (if possible) on the letter along with your original receipt should be taken to the embassy as soon as you can (God will provide for you to run & jump over this last huddle). As it's a matter of urgency, no phoning business, you've got to see face to face. And the manager of the insurance company should send a mail to the embassy confirming
your meetings with him and the letter issued to you along with your original receipt.
Stay strong Bro. And be compose with the embassy guys/staff, not necessarily with the insurance folks. After you've receive your RP, they can all do one.
This is just my own little advice/opinion. By God grace you'll come out of this smilling. it shall be well.
Safe!
sureb0y:
I just got a call from the embassy. They have revoked my residence permit on the grounds of forgery. They said I submitted a fake insurance certificate. Can you imagine? Something wey I use 31k get from that stupid mutual benefits assurance. I've been completely mad all day. I called the retarded insurance company, they kept saying "don't mind them, it's not fake. We'll TRY to explain to them". Can u imagine? "Try"!!! Omo, my brain dey hot. In case u think I'm overreacting, submitting fake documents means being banned from entering any of the schenghen states, which indirectly means being banned from entering the UK and Yankee. Them go hear from me. I'm waiting to receive my passport back and the official reason for the revocation of my permit. Mutual Benefits Assurance won't rest. They'll explain why they gave me a certificate that's different from what the others submitted.
Make I go drink small. That's the update from me.

Hi @Ebunolorun
I'm sorry to hear about the negative decision from migri.
Don't give up hope Bro. Sometime something destined to be good and favourable starts with murky
Just a little rough time Bro, good times is to follow.
...after hardship comes ease...

I seconded what sirkezman said. I'll suggest you go for the appeal if you can afford it. A good explanation to counter their reasons for refusal may just turn things around. You have nothing to lose for trying. And I hope it goes well. You probably still have the option of deferring the admission (if the school allowed it) if it turns out unfavourable (I hope and pray not).

From my atom knowledge about appeals and Lil experience, I'll urge you to give it a go Bro.
Stay strong mate, better days are just round the corner.
All the best bro

sirkezman:
sorry to hear about this but yes you should appeal. i think the guideline should be with the rejection email. Appealing doesnt mean you are desperate. It means they made a mistake and you want to prove them wrong.

Hi All the bosses in the house.
Quick question PLEASE: (supplementary Docs.)

if one provide the statement of account(s) of depositors (family member/company) to migri, to show that funds were transfer from the depositor to my account, are they (migri) going to check/confirm the depositors account balance? Or is it just for the Finnish immigration to see (evidence) that fund(s) was transfered from the depositor account to mine?

***I'm not too sure if banks are allowed to disclose their customer's account balance to a third party (migri) without their customer's consent/authorisation.***

Thanks in advance

Thanks @ooluseyipa and serkezman 4 ur reponses. Dose ar d nos i tried dat did nt connect,bt i wil trying. @sirkezman,can one carry a single box of 46kg,or one of say 3okg and oda one 2 b 16kg?
Hello @ rajput4real
Just a quick contribution to what other bosses had said on your question. If you can call up Turkish airline (ikeja office) and ask if they will allow different weights for the 2 set of 23kg luggage allowed. Some Airline policies on luggage tend to vary from country to country or the type of ticket booked.about 2 months ago, a passenger i met at an airport was denied checking-in because both of his luggages were of different weights. He had to move items around to even-up the weight to aproximately equal weights before he was allowed to check in.
Although, I am not sure if Turkish airline as similar policy. But you could call them up and check to avoid the hassle involve in adjusting luggage contents and sometimes disposing content due to excess luggage or paying for excess luggage.
Goodluck bro.
And best of luck to everyone

Hi @wenny
I think a europass CV format is required. The link should be sent to you by the school you applied to or UAF (Admission University Finland). And you can upload it and fill it in. I am not sure if all the higher institutions in Finland request for applicants CV in this format. May be you can ask the school or UAF (assuming your school is one of UAF listed school) before or during your application via email.
That's just my little understanding in regards to your question. The big bosses in this forum of nairaland can shed more on that for you.
Good luck to you in your application.
And all the best to the folks waiting for their RP aand to those still awaiting their interview dates.

abeg na which Insurance company you buy own insurance cover from and how much? i dey try find the cheapest ones available
Wan Gwan @succinct2015
I think AIICO is the cheapest Bro.And it's one of the recommended insurance companies by the Finnish immigration service for Nigerian applicants. I did mine couple of weeks back for N30,800 here in Lagos and it covers you for a year. I believe it still that price.
May be other folks in this forum could suggest cheaper alternative(s).
All the best Bro.

Hi Everyone,
Can someone advise me on how to get to Asokoro, Abuja (Finland embassy) cheaply from Nnamdi Azikwe Airport, Abuja.
I want to avoid those drop (taxi) that charge N3000. I don't mind taking 2-3 buses (commercial bus/car). As long as I am given the direction (if possible, the price for the bus for each area).

Thanks in advance
