Romance › Re: Why Is It That People Find It Hard To Approach Me, Is It My Aura? by Jackanda1(m): 9:55am On May 24 |
It's either you are me or we are identical twins. I'm a loner, I keep my distance from people and only have few friends. I come out occasionally and try to mingle, still, people complain I'm intimidating. They won't start a conversation until I do so. Sometimes, people just start beef with me for little to no reason. Especially when they meet me for the first time and barely know me. I think my looks play a part though. When they finally find out that I'm not such a bad person, they would say " but I thought....." Very Annoying. Other people just carry me in their mind and keep their distance. Live your life. Go out and make friends if you can. Do your bit. But try not to please people. |

Ayomisure: Good day everyone Please what are your opinions about UI post utme? I scored 309 in this year's jamb which requires me to score really high in the post utme. Also I'm not thinking of changing institution because I had C parallel in my olevel which is a disadvantage in most institutions. I hope you get it. You have been studious |

Christianity Etc › A Fellow Pianist Likes To Copy Me by Jackanda1(op): 10:24am On Apr 26*. Modified: 10:44am On Apr 26 |
Okay good morning. I'm a pianist in my church and I'm also a member of the media unit. There is this new pianist that just came to our church and he plays well, but I won't say he is as good as me. The problem is I recently noticed that he likes to keep a secret recorder (his phone), where he records everything I play and the next Sunday, when it is his turn to play, he plays exactly what I play. He has recorded so much keyboarding idea from me that I am even surprised at how much he has gotten in a very short time. Sometimes if I'm playing the keyboard he will sneak up on me. Like there is a door behind the instrument stand, so he sneaks up on me and check what I'm playing to copy. The other time I spoke to him, I told him if he wants to learn he could come and meet me that I'm willing to teach him, but he doesn't stop copying. I don't really know what to do. This makes me the feel weird. When I get on the keyboard I feel someone is seriously extracting something from me without my permission. Please what do you do in this kind of situation. The young man will not stop and it seems he wants to learn from me without actually coming to me plus he's a disrespectful fellow. Why does it even bother me. Lalasticlala seun |

He did and he scored 293 and he is studying Medcines and Surgery by God's grace. did your son only study past questions. Didn't he study with the syllabus? |

Cardiojosh: Hello, Jackanda1. I saw the mention late. A lot of advice has been given so far. What I feel you need now is a strategy to follow through. Scoring high in the JAMB is based largely on materials and strategy. If you need any further clarification, please let me know. Which materials would you recommend( the ones you used). I'm currently studying with the following: 1. New school chemistry 2. New school physics 3. Essential biology 4. Invisible teacher 5. Past questions I've seen lot s of suggestions online, your imput will be okay. Thanks |

Aceed: medical condition? I was a student of uniben, yes schools have stress that comes with it and other issues depending on the character of the individual but I commend uniben for offering drugs free, I don't know if it is all classes of drugs but I suffered from a medical condition where fortrin, prometh and diclo was what was given and if I ever bought those drugs at external pharmacies, it was because they were out of stock in uniben health centre...
drips, canulas were free too
and if there is need to go to ubth, as a student, treatments were heavily subsidized...due to my medical condition, there was a time that within the space of less than a week, my pcv dropped to 8%, doctors couldn't even offer any concrete explanation, and I had to be admitted there...our bill of 120k was subsidized to about 19k...
I am yet to here of a school with such medical discounts but uniben's medical calendar is that of slow and steady coupled with patience that would be tested over... what is medical school fee like in your school ? |

Babatundehy: If the degree you have now is science related, then you're a poor student academically, UTME has been watered down over the years, a graduate in any science degree should ne able to score over 300 by just refreshing his brains with the textbooks and any of these apps that treat past questions, i have done this and it took me only two weeks of looking at these elementary concepts. It took you two weeks to finish jamb syllabus? |

parags: The issue is not Jamb . The issue is you have not mastered a lot about studying and retention . Do you sit down occasionally and mentally go through all you have read on a particular topic? Do you have a summary note on all you have learnt and revise periodically ? You just dont read and expect your brain to retain all the information . You have to do better . There is instant access to information nowadays , guess you are easily distracted
Now if you are complaining about the sizes of secondary school books after graduation, maybe medicine is not for you . You have no idea how medicine is tough . I believe you must be a medical student or have already gone through that path. This post seeks for answers. If you are going to be of help, then saying 'medicine is not for you' is the wrong comment. |

if as a graduate of microbiology, you are complaining about JAMB books being bulky i really don't think you should be writing JAMB again
just one of your textbooks in university should be more than any JAMB book so how did you read in school?
except your story isn't true Proffesor topic, so Physics, chemistry and biology Jamb syllabus is not bulky to you. |

Education › Medical Students: How Did You Get A High Jamb Score. by Jackanda1(op): 11:46am On Nov 28, 2025 |
I mentioned medical student because I know that medicine requires a high jamb score. I am seeking for admission into medicine. it has been my dream for some time now, but jamb had been making it very difficult. It has been more than 6 years. I had to settle for a course I do not like. I'm a graduate now and done with Nysc. However my dreams remain. I attended three times and give up. I want to try it again with the determination to get it this time. I am seeking advice from people who have pass this stage successfully.
So I am making another attempt at jamb next year. I have started studying with jamb syllables and past questions but my problems are:
1. The textbooks are just too bulky. There are too many things to study if you are following the syllabus. It is very frustrating. Too many things to study in a very short period of time.
2. Tendency to forget easily. Things I studied last month I have forgotten more than 50% of it, because of it bulkiness. So I have to go back to revise them which is time consuming especially when I have new topics to study.
3. I'm currently studying organic compounds in chemistry. And it is it is painful that I couldn't answer all the past questions on that topic. I had to go back to revise the topic. It seems jamb questions are hidden in corners of the textbooks. And you can't find them no matter how hard you cram.
4. I do not know if my brain is a little bit slow because I can spend time on one particular topic and in 3 days time I end up forgetting 70% of what I read in that topic.so Did you people go through this problems cuz I'm tired.
5. Medicine for me is a do or die. I don't intend to give up. I always see myself as a medical doctor. But jamb is jamming me too much.
I need help and encouragement from you guys. How did you do it.
Should I just focus on past questions. Tell me how you did it. if possible break it down summarize it. Even if it's a hard Way. Tell me, I need your help.
