Music/RadioHow To Improve Nigerian Music Industry- Article By Cripsymixtee by Jackikoko(op): 3:12am On May 08
The Nigerian music industry has grown into a global force through the rise of Afrobeats, with artists like Burna Boy, Wizkid, Davido, and Tems and many more leading the movement internationally, but despite this success, the industry still needs improvement in several areas to reach its full potential. One major step is investing in better infrastructure such as world-class recording studios, music schools, live performance venues, and creative hubs where upcoming artists can develop their talents professionally. Stronger copyright protection is also necessary to reduce piracy and ensure artists, producers, and songwriters receive fair royalties for their work. In addition, the industry needs more mentorship programs, talent development initiatives, and professional artist management to help young musicians build sustainable careers and avoid exploitation through unfair contracts. Supporting independent artists with funding, digital marketing knowledge, and access to distribution platforms will also encourage creativity and diversity within Afrobeats. Furthermore, expanding global collaborations and international tours can help Nigerian music reach even larger audiences while preserving its African identity and cultural roots. The government also has an important role to play by creating policies that support the entertainment industry through grants, reduced taxes, and investment opportunities. Finally, improving the live music culture with safer and better-organized concerts will create more opportunities for artists and other creative professionals. With proper structure, investment, and collaboration among stakeholders, Nigeria can strengthen its music industry and establish Afrobeats as one of the most powerful and respected music genres in the world.

Music/RadioOpen Letter To Nigerian Music Producers By Cripsymixtee by Jackikoko(op): 10:25am On Feb 24, 2022
PART 1

Dear Music Producers,
As a fellow and concerned Music Producer , I have a few words for you but
before I start, let me say that, you are free to either take it or reject it.
Mywords may make sense to you or come across as the words of a hater but
whatever the case may be, understand that I respect your hustle.
As a music producer, you have understand that you are beyond the
“STUDIO WORK” As Music producer you need to update yourself regularly
based on sounds and technology. Your last production has to be your least
production.

TIPS TO BE A BETTER BUSINESS MUSIC PRODUCER

BUSINESS SIDE !

In recent times we have seen several artiste in the Nigerian Music Industry
“USE AND DUMP” Producers which is so dishearten
Yes, I can understand we producers do a lots of productions based on
personal relationship etc! “My guy”, “My padi” etc
At that time the artiste calls you “BABA” it’s all good but
Note: At the time Having a contract or rather written terms and condition
based on your production wouldn’t be a bad idea

As a music producer, your beat is an intellectual property i.e. an
(intangible property that is the result of creativity, such as patents,
copyrights, etc) which solely belongs to you

For example the name and product of COCA COLA belongs to the
organization yet their customers pays daily to purchase it but that does
not mean the Customer or Consumer Owns COCA COLA
As a Producer always have this illustration behind your mind and see your
production as a “Product”
COCA COLA – YOUR BEAT (PRODUCER)
CUSTOMER – ARTISTE
CONSUMER - FANS

However here are some reasons why the artistes you give your beats to
are ripping you off
Firstly, Aside from your Production fees
From the Onset Draft a legal contract or rather written terms and
condition signed and accept by the artiste, this will ensure in all
ramifications you benefit maximally from international collaborations,
streaming platforms and also get your fair share from well-sponsored
public performance of songs using your beats etc .

Note: You don’t have to get a largest share but you deserve royalties
Secondly A major problem with producers , is that they live in the shadow
of their “BLOWN ARTISTE” that had a HIT with their Beats.
Lets be real , the FANS don’t care about the Producer / Sound Engineer of
the song , rather their Focus is on the BLOWN ARTISTE
That’s why you need to create a Trademark that cannot be Unshaken for
yourself , even when the “BLOWN ARTISTE” decides to stop working with
you

Grow Your Social Media You may not realize it but your public image
matters. Publicity is key for you at this stage of your career and while you
may not have money for certain media attention which the artiste already
has, It’s quite easier now Grow your social media following and ensure
you are actively engaging your followers.

Social media is a key tool
Don’t compete with Your “BLOWN ARTISTE” Do you have what it takes?
I have noticed most Nigerian producer have tried to suddenly transform
themselves into an artiste/singer/rapper /Managers because Their
“BLOWN ARTISTE” Broke their heart. Don’t get me wrong isn’t a bad idea
switching but ensure you can manage both sides so you won’t end up
frustrated and becoming Jack of all trades master of None

As stated above you are free to either take it or reject it. My words may
make sense to you or come across as the words of a hater but whatever
the case may be, understand that I respect your hustle

Signed,
A Concerned Fellow Music Producer

Music/RadioThe Nigerian Songs Relevant To Protesters During #endsars Movement #cripsymixtee by Jackikoko(op): 11:26am On Oct 24, 2021
From Fela Kuti to Burna Boy,Falz, Cripsymixtee, African China , Eedris adbulkareem , Ajebo Huslters and so on these songs convey protesters’ swirl of anger, frustration, melancholy and hope while buoying up their fight.
The past weeks have been eventful as Nigerian youth took to the streets for the #EndSARS movement, a peaceful protest against police brutality. The violence perpetrated by the rogue police unit, Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) has since been ignored by the Nigerian government despite an alarming rise in reports of extrajudicial killings, extortion, kidnap, harassment plaguing citizens and residents alike. Savara Mudigi, a part of Kenyan music quartet, Sauti Sol recently disclosed his horrendous encounter with these officers. The apparent apathy of the powers that be resulted into what became a nationwide protest, disrupting major economic activity around the country.

During the protest that lasted for about two weeks, music was wielded as a form of expression, creating a connection among strangers that resonates true. The records played during the #EndSARS movement embody anecdotes and emotions that mirror the long-standing trials of the Nigerian people. The music of these protests range from popular vintage records that chronicled Nigeria’s systemic rot to contemporary releases that depict Nigeria’s decay through stiffness and indifference towards institutional reforms over the years.

From Lagos, Abuja to Port Harcourt, Benin, these songs convey protesters’ swirl of anger, frustration, melancholy and hope while buoying up their fight against police brutality, bad governance and call for accountability.

Music/RadioCripsymixtee – Naija Goferment by Jackikoko(op):
Cripsymixtee Drops “ Naija Goferment” is a song that points out the general frustration and bitterness of the
People Of NIGERIA.

This song also signifies how the “Goferment” played around with the acrimonious event that happened at the peaceful

https://audiomack.com/cripsymixtee/song/naija-goferment

It is one year since the historic #ENDSARS protest, a youth-driven anti-police brutality demonstration, shook Nigeria.
The protest, which morphed from social media campaigns into street demonstrations in October 2020, was triggered by the excesses of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS), a now-disbanded police tactical unit notorious for cruelty against crime suspects.

One of the worst crackdowns was at the Lekki Toll Gate in Lagos on October 20, when army officers arrived in about five trucks and surrounded a large group of protesters holding a peaceful sit-in. The soldiers trapped the protesters, using a tactic known as “kettling,” then fired in the air and at the crowd. Kettling is a method of confinement used by police to trap a crowd of people in a specific space.
After the soldiers left, police officers arrived and, according to multiple witnesses, began shooting at protesters who had not managed to flee. Witnesses described a gruesome scene with bloodied, lifeless bodies on the ground and many others with gunshot wounds whom they tried to rush to hospitals.
