It doesn't work that way. Politics is local. Obi is just being a loyal party man and we can't fault him for that. Firstly, there was the issue of equity (power returning to EDO CENTRAL), and then the sentiments about if LP can defend people's votes (which they currently lack the capacity to do). Given, Obidients are emotional about seeing Nigeria work, but they clearly have no idea how to achieve that. It is safe to say Tinubu's re-election in 2027 is done and dusted. If opposition knew what they were doing they should be pushing for electoral reforms now. Instead, they're busy making noise on SM.
Well, I wish Nigeria well even if APC captures all the states in Nigeria. After all, they've been excellent since 2015.

Obi is the greatest beneficiary of ethnic and religious politics in the last election. His hombase Ibo voted him enmasse because of his tribe and the Northern Christian voted him because they dislike Northern Muslim and believe a Christian will be better for them than Tinubu Muslim-muslim.

He cannot play that same game at gubernatorial level which explain why LP will continue to lose elections at state level.

From southern Kaduna to Plateau to Nasarawa to Benue to Southern Adamawa, Gombe and Borno, any vote Obi got was solely based on tribe and religion.
By the time PDP or APC fields a candidate of same religion with Obi, he has lost that fan base and left with tribal fan base who can't take him anywhere.

Voter's not turning up for gubernatorial elections is natural in the country, it's same way voter's turn out in low numbers for LGA elections.
It is not about "what happened in the last presidential election" anybody saying is a Iiar Iike obidents are Iiars.
It is about how Nigerians understand the govt, the average Nigerian don't know that it is the responsibility of his LGA to create, name and maintain streets, once u don't see street lights, u start blaming the presidency, it is the responsibility of the LGA to build and maintain parks, same as cemetery, the fact that most Nigerians don't know the functions of each tier of govt, know what to demand and how it affects their lives, they believe the presidency should do everything that's why they prefer to turn for presidential elections than gubernatorial or LGA elections and when u type the kind of sh*t u typed above above voter's not turning up, u are doing Nigerians a great injustice.


Last year before the elections, I met a man who has worked and retired from govt telling me with all form of certainties that Buhari didn't build their street.
He complained about his state govt owing them pensions and Buhari couldn't do anything about it, I asked the man, what are the function of the people u vote in as house of reps, he said "they don't have use", these are the kind of people that feel gubernatorial election or LGA doesn't concern them because they feel the presidency should provide everything even water.

A woman argued with me that state govts have no duty to deliver education to the people, she's an lgb0 obident, the exchange happened on Facebook, I asked her why are states creating education board if states don't have educational responsibility, she was mute.



What the people I described above have in common is that both of them are obi supporters who feel a messiah is coming to save them, Nigeria needs civic education to be taught their duties to the state, when u learn ur duties to the state and perform them rightly, good leaders will spring up naturally because when majority rightly perform their duties, they will NEVER allow those who don't perform their duties to lead no matter the level of tribal or religious politics being played, not until this part is well delivered, the society will never be in order.
