Gordonz07: That is not true. Workers have nicknamed the governor Mr 25th for a reason. November salary was delayed because he pronounced and implemented minimum wage of 75k just few days to 25th of November. Almost all government workers have been paid the new minimum wage. Workers that haven't received their salaries should go check what is wrong. Alia's regime is far better than Ortom's regime. So, allow our governor breathe well. The new minimum wage is actually an addition of 40 and 50k to existing salaries not 75k like he pronounced, I got this info first hand from one of the Local govt accounts who prepare payment vouchers, the civil servants in Benue are suffering, going through hunger but you all prefer to clap. Ur state keep deteriorating yet you keep praising. |

Fact of the matter is some people have balls and would tackle the system no matter the repercussions while the rest of us wail on nairaland. I salute people like Farotimi, without them change will not come. Since when did a ban in US become a criteria for office in Nigeria? U are never going to achieve any change with people like Farotimi, u don't achieve change with noise, you achieve change with hard work by transforming your society not by attacking other people. U people are so Iost u don't even have the basic idea on how to enact change, Farotimi is using u for cheap popularity which will increase his economic gain. If he's unable to do the basic things, where's the confidence that he can do the other 1,001 things required of a state governor? How is he to get foreign investors when he cannot communicate? For that matter, how was he able to do his project defense in school if he can't speak English or read out figures that I'm sure he already spent a while trying to memorize? It really is a pity that this is the best apc could present to rule the state Maybe you should take your talk about the governor to those who are interested in it, I addressed the comment based on someone insinuating that lack of fluency in English Language shows they didn't get proper education, that's what I have been trying to address. I'm not a IowIife Iike u who Iives his life defending and attacking p0Iiticians. |

icankel: you have a valid point there but you know elections in Nigeria are being done. We only see most of them after 4yrs which is during election time they will come back with a lot money and bribe both voters and INEC especially when ur working with the state governor. If it's by voting many of them won't be there If they don't show face till 4 years, that makes the job easier for those bIabbing. They have opportunity to gather votes that will topple their opponents. Nobody wins an election without receiving a huge amount of votes in present day Nigeria, are the elections free from rigging? The answer is No, but no candidate can win election without getting a huge chunk of the votes like it was done under OBJ. |

Yes I attended Ahmadu Bello University Zaria, it's called GENS 103 and it's a 2 CU course, ask anyone you know in ABU to tell you otherwise. Core courses even carry 1 CU. Where the law is stated that core courses cannot be two units is funny. 2 CU course carries 2 hours lectures a week, a 3 CU course carries 3 hours lectures a week. That's how it is with 1 CU and that's how the system is structured. If u don't know this, I'm sure u didn't attend any university. |

Babalegba: Understand what, you are making blanket generalisations which is usually a sign of intellectual laziness. You cannot just lump all activists into the same group. That's cynicism, knowing the price of everything but knowing the value of none. When a man takes it upon himself to tackle supreme Court judges and Uber lawyers then obviously the man has got balls hanging. What have you and your ilk done to address all the controversial supreme Court decisions of the past years apart from wailing on nairaland. The present chief justice of Nigeria was banned from entering US because of the imo state Uzodimma judgement. Lumping everything together is laziness, the world is more nuanced than that and requires more work to sort the wheat from the chaff. Not all pastors are fake, not all Muslims are bad people and not all activists are in it for the cash. I'm not claiming to be intelligent but stupidity pervades Nigeria and it is manifest in the Nigerian condition. Making lousy claims about Chief justice does not translate to u "tackling" him, lots of people made lousy claims about the last CJN and said all sorts of garbage. Activism in Nigeria is used for cheap popularity, driving media traffic etc etc. |

Kukutente23: The first F will certainly push the fellow out of first class for that semester. The second D will reduce the GP further. So how can he still graduate with a 1st class Are you sure you attended a university? People finish 100L with 3.60 to 3.80 and still graduate with first class. U can have an F in a 2 CU course and still have a GP in first class simply because u got parallel A in all ur courses. The structure of ur course in some cases will only deduct 0.25 from GPA if you have F in a 2 CU course and A the rest, you get 4.75. U take the exam next session and in between u got 5.00, in ur time out of 10 semesters u get 5.00 in 4 straight semesters, will that one F stop u from getting first class or getting 5.00 in 4 semesters in a row is rocket science to you? |

ElevationD: Yes you do. There’s English language as a course.
But with respect to your opinion, without English, you cannot write your projects. Hopefully you know that projects are written in English.
You must wonder why a man who could not read or write, well nurtured by Oshiomole, passed through university. Or did he write in his native language? If he did, he better still could request to read to Edo people in his own language, rather than this monumental disgrace. To make u understand basics, I am not talking about the man, I replied the message I replied because the writer has the idea that if you can't speak fluent English, you definitely did not attend a university. You don't attend a university to learn how to speak English if u doubt my statement, go to universities like ABU Zaria, go to BUK, go to UNIMAID, go so many universities in the north, u will meet lots of first class students in several departments who are well grounded in their field of study but struggIe so bad to communicate in English, that doesn't change the fact that they can't write project. You don't attend a university to learn how to speak English Language, it's basics unless you have no idea what u are doing in a university, a university is not structured to teach u how to speak English unless u are studying language related courses or legal courses or a course that relies strongly on how u speak language. |

How does someone who can't pass GNS101 write his project by himself? A typical elections in Nigeria requires magic from INEC and political actors including the judiciary who are brought in by the politicians to determine elections in Nigeria without recourse to the electorates. These avenues are m and to which some of these people can air their opinions to their leaders so what is the fuse about it? But a primary school won election against the speaker of the house in Yobe in the last election. U are scared people won't u right? See that one's mouth like "holding on to power". Is the person in question a military dictator? Was he not re-elected by people of his constituency? Did he stop anyone from contesting against him? Is there any part of the Nigerian Constitution that prohibits a lawmaker from seeking re-election for as long as he/she wishes?
