Hi, good to see you. ![]() |
Boko Haram is of no economic, political or social importance to Nigeria. There are bunch of brainwashed and religiously blinded agitators seeking to take Nigeria backward to the stone age. God forbid. We have about 10 or more states practicing sharia legal system. Has the practice affected the lives of the states positively more than states that are not practicing sharia in Nigeria? I believe Boko Haram are just terrorists and should be deleted from the land of Nigeria. |

Meanwhile, in a terse statement written in Hausa and circulated around Maiduguri, yesterday, Boko Haram gave strict conditions for truce in the over two years uprising in the state.http://sunnewsonline.com/webpages/features/newsonthehour/2011/june/14/newsbreak-14-06-2011-001.html Somebody should help me out here, please. How many states in Nigeria are practicing the sharia system? Is the sharia having positive effect on the lives of citizens of those states practicing sharia? What is the level of human and infrastructural development there compared to non-sharia states? Are the leaders in sharia states less corrupt (financial misappropriation) than those in non-sharia states? |
so my friend it is so important that we kill ourselves for it , eh?Thanks for educating me on this. Please, how much does Boko Haram contribute to the gdp of Nigeria considering the mayhem they are unleashing every where? |

i chose to ignore this statement when i saw itSo, my friend , you don't know the importance of OIL to Nigeria, eh? |

Goodluck will do well and remain stronger only if he continues to listen to IBB, the wisdom maker and the owner of the most sensible common sense amongst the bunch.Yes o. He used his wisdom to loot our treasury while he told us to maintain financial austerity measures with his SAP, during his corrupt reign. Thieving wisdom in deed. ![]() |
I disagree with Aunty Ngozi, but she did not say it was, GREAT.Don't be angry with her. She never mentioned Islamic banking throughout her screening session. She was asked about non-interest banking and she gave her opinion about it. The author of this article is just trying to play a fast one on those who did not watch the screening session live. I watched it live on NTA. Take it from me that Aunty NGOZI DID NOT MENTION ISLAMIC BANKING, NOT TO TALK ABOUT SUPPORTING IT DURING THE SCREENING. |
Everywhere it is practised, it is called Islamic Banking. Why then do we have to change the name in Nigeria? My brother, Nigeria is Nigeria. We know our weaknesses. Let's do that which will be beneficial to all, without any religious coloration. Chikenan. |
Yes, there is no comparison at all. How can you compare MEND fighting for more share of resources gotten from their land and Boko Haram fighting for the Islamisation of Nigeria? What benefit has the govt derived from Boko Haram that they will be treated like MEND? ![]() I think the govt should treat Boko Haram as an enemy of the state and declare full scale war against them. I feel the govt has tolerated enough. |
You all should reread what is was quoted for saying. She never said she supported it or is not going to go against it. I like the way she worded it. If she had been straight foward those muslim doing the screen would have made sure they truncated her being cleared for the ministerial position. That's what you call politics.Exactly. Some people are so insensitive to the nitty-gritty; granted, this form of banking is existing already, but why create another; and must it be ISLAMIC, esp @ this time that Boko Harams & co are killing in the name of allah/Islam, and in a nation so secular like Nigeria? That is it! |

Let's see how the Army and other security forces react to this. ![]() |
@OP,Thank you jare to the highlighted. And in her response she never mentioned "Islamic" banking. She talked about only non-interest banking. The writer of that article should be sued for misquoting our adorable madam. There is a whole world of difference between Islamic Banking and Non-interest banking. |

On Non-interest banking, Dr Ngozi said from what she knows, she thinks Non-interest Banking is just another form of Banking whereby instead of the Investors getting interests on Loans offered, the Borrower and Lender share the Profits.Note that that statement is not pro Islamic banking statement. It is a political talk, sitting on the fence statement. |

^^^You said it all. The problem we are having in Nigeria is that our so-call leaders see their positions as a job opportunity in which they must protect, by protecting the interests of those who have the wherewithal to threaten their position. They don't have interest in the generality of the people or people who can not threaten their position. It is a sad situation. ![]() If some one that commits crime is not prosecuted, what is the use of laws to the existence of the country? |
I still understand how Nigeria will say something today and will do opposite tomorrow. hope you watched yesterday prelinary sessions where they screened the likes of Aganga, Iwela, Obada etc. the senators that said b4 the screening started that they will not allow anybody to take a bow or give room for cheap questions during ministerial nominees screening now turn yesterday session to disgust. A hollow chamber now turn to a hall of humour and shame when 4 pdp stalwarts like Bello-acting national chairman pdp, auditor general pdp, director-general campaign committee of David Mark(senate president) himself and a former pdp senator. i could not imagine may be our politicians are still playing and toying with the future of this country despite their sweet mouth transformation promises. worst still an ANPP senator was boo and intimidated by his pdp counterpart when he asked the ag.pdp national chairman that why he cant allow and give room for fresh minds to occupy public positions considering the fact he is old and have served in different public positions since 1978 when he the anpp senator was in secondary school. but alas! the senator made his point but he was intimidated. To the highlighted, I was really sad when that Senator was intimidated. I don't know what those sinators are taking Nigerians for . I think very soon one mad man will find his way into that hollow chamber and teach them a lesson of life. It is obvious that personal interests override public interest in the affairs of our sinators. |

Is it only Islamic banking that can give interest free loans? Why can't NAPEP and Bank Of Industries do it? |
