This is to say that polygamy is accepted in Christianity

Note that Solomon was not a Christian because he lived during the Old Testament era (before Christ).

However, the New Testament is not against polygamy. The only people ordered to marry one wife in the New Testament is a Christian who aspires to the office of a BISHOP or DEACON. 1 Timothy 3:2 - A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behaviour, given to hospitality, apt to teach;

1 Timothy 3:12 Let the deacons be the husbands of one wife, ruling their children and their own houses well.

The issue of marrying only one wife is a doctrine which emanated from the Catholic Church, and which other christian churches have adopted.
