Webmasters / Are You Making Enough Money From Adsense? Try This Instead. by james809: 8:32pm On Sep 14, 2015
What if you could make money from every single person that visits your website even if they do not buy or click any of your banners... Sounds interesting right? sit back, relax and continue reading…

Today I’m talking about pop under adverts from propeller.

This is an Ad network that has been working since 2011. Although 4 years isn’t that much for an Ad Network, they now serve 650 million of daily impressions and have several monetization methods for both desktop and mobile traffic. They aren’t small at all.

In fact, they have so much traffic and publishers that they’re ranked 60 on Alexa .

What’s a Pop Under?

It’s an Ad that pop ups in a new tab or Window and shows a landing page. If you have visited streaming websites, download websites and basically any website in the entertainment niche that’s not owned by a big brand, you’ve probably seen pop ups and pop unders.

However, Propeller uses a less intrusive technology called On Click Pop Under, which means the ad is only triggered after the user clicks anywhere on your website.

I use to run different blogs and websites and all my profits came from clicks on google banners around viral news. Many website designers do this and get thousands of visitors per day. The readers don’t just come in and read the article. They actually click the video to be reproduced, or click the Like/retweet buttons, or just click to other articles.

And for each one of those actions you could be earning more money without losing the revenue from your banner ads.

Conclusions: Think out of the box. Also Don't let Google adsense rejection stop you from making money from you website.

As you can see, there are many ways to monetize your traffic. Most people think of affiliate links or banners to promote offers Amazon and Adsense, but there are dozens of strategies to monetize your traffic and earn more money.

The best thing about pop unders is that the quantity of traffic you have doesn’t matter to get started. Even if you have a few hundred visits per day only, and you receive a few clicks on your banners, you can add some revenue implementing pop unders. Banner CTR is not important anymore.

Politics / First Hundred Days Of Change by james809: 10:40pm On Sep 08, 2015
"Let me assure you that if I am elected President... we will always act on time and not allow problems to irresponsibly fester." This statement made by President Muhammadu Buhari at the Chattam House before the election, has been grossly misunderstood by a number of highly expectant Nigerians. So much, that even when he reiterated that Nigerians should not expect miracles or magic, some still assume a Genie has come into power.

As individuals occupying the office of the citizen, if we had done a good job in the first hundred days to passively observe the President we elected, we would have noticed that Buhari is not a man who takes time frame as the most important equation or factor. A number of people have boldly said he has done nothing, others say he could have done more, while others are neither here nor there.

On Power

Let us not go too far, Nigeria's erratic power supply has improved tremendously. Because of this, ordinary Nigerians – 'ordinary', defined as the man on the molue in Ojuelgba – have been praying for and praising President Buhari. These are the people who cannot afford generators.

On Political Appointments

Buhari is currently putting in place daring policies and doing a thorough clean up exercise. While he has relinquished a few people of their appointments and nominated a few others, he has not been in a hurry to make his political appointments the defining theme of his first hundred days – particularly the ministerial ones. Although, there are a lot of criticisms from certain quarters that the appointments made so far are skewed towards one section of the country, in the president's defense, these appointments are primarily his personal staff.

Chief John Oyegun, the Chairman of the ruling party, the All Progressives Congress, has said on several occasions –since the clamour about President Buhari's appointments came up – that the upcoming political appointments will be balanced. This has been confirmed by recent reports that the president has been in consultations with leaders of the APC regarding his ministerial list.

It is important to note that beyond being balanced in terms of regional spread, Nigerians must also ask that all appointees moving forward are balanced in terms of gender. This may not look like one of the biggest issues of contention at the moment, however, with a near 50-50 split in the entire population, only one woman has been nominated by the president – out of 35 appointments so far.

On Security

In the area of security, Buhari has matched his words with action by giving the army the ultimatum to clear Boko Haram within three months. Since then, the army has intensified efforts against insurgency. He has also gone around neighboring West African States to secure strategic partnerships to eradicate Boko Haram. The army is doing a lot of work to make sure that Boko Haram's strongholds in the North East, like the infamous Sambisa Forest, are purged free of the terrorists. Although, the BBC recently reported that over 1000 people have been killed since Buhari came into power, it acknowledged that a vast majority of the territories held by the Boko Haram group have been regained.

On Corruption

President Buhari is not partial in his search for looters. He has asked the ICPC and the EFCC to investigate anybody who has stolen public funds, whether PDP or APC. Ex-Governor Amaechi who contributed money for Buhari's campaign is currently being investigated by the EFCC. The Nigeria tribune recently reported that the ICPC has stormed almost all the 36 states "to gather indicting documents on suspected looters of the treasury."

Another daring Buhari-move was the order for all ministries, departments or agencies to operate a Treasury Single Account (TSA) to be domiciled in the Central Bank. Although, he has received a lot of blows (from potential looters), this alone will plug the loopholes in the system. Additionally, the president has ordered for the return of all diplomatic passports from all the former Ministers, Ambassadors, and Public Servants. Because of this, many Nigerians have said that our international image has taken a new turn, not only in Africa, but also in Europe and America.

To an extent, there has been a return of sanity because people are afraid to steal; people who have stolen, are returning the funds, and in general, people are afraid to break the rules. Right now, the fear of Buhari has become the beginning of wisdom.

On Youth

The youth are now realigning and redefining the meaning of "work" beyond government contract and there is a revelation of skills over politics. While effortlessly trying to avoid mentioning the wanna-be-ever-talking-rarely-processing young Nigerians crowding social media with every random thought, just so they too can be part of the conversation, most of the young people who clamored for change, are already criticizing within 100 days of its implementation.

Sincerely, even if it was possible to lift a house, reconstruct the foundation and place the house back on that foundation, I am sure a lot of time will be allotted to the strategic planning to pull that off successfully. Now, we are talking about a whole country like Nigeria here, and as Nigerians, we know the level of work that needs to be done to fix our country. So, seeing statements on twitter like "Na anti-corruption we wan chop" is a total application of ignorance. Governance is constituted by a host of factors, and a lot time is needed to measure the impact of governance.

Are we going to trade time for performance, or are we going to tell ourselves that this man, Buhari, has performing at his own careful and deliberate pace. All in all, in comparison to others that have come before him, he has done more than some people did in 4 whole years. 100 days may be too early to fully judge the performance, however, I'm not saying that we can't begin to appraise him after a year.

Until then, we watch and wait...

Business / Smile Closes Usd365 Million Financing To Accelerate Its 4g Lte Network Expansion by james809: 9:30am On Sep 08, 2015
Mauritius, 8 September, 2015 -/African Media Agency (AMA)- Smile Telecoms Holdings Ltd (“Smile”), which owns and operates mobile wireless 4G LTE broadband networks in the 800MHz band in Nigeria, Tanzania and Uganda, announced that it raised USD365 million of debt and equity financing (“the funding”). The funding will be used to expand Smile’s existing 4G LTE mobile broadband networks and services, such that by the end of 2015, Smile will offer clear voice services and have national coverage comparable to the largest 3G network in each of its current countries of operation. Smile will also launch its broadband network in Democratic Republic of Congo (“DRC”) early in 2016.

The funding is comprised of USD50 million of equity, raised from the Public Investment Corporation on behalf of Government Employees Pension Fund (“PIC”), and a USD315 million multi-tranche, multi-jurisdictional debt facility led by African Export-Import Bank with participation from the Development Bank of Southern Africa, Diamond Bank PLC, Ecobank Nigeria, the PIC, the Industrial Development Corporation of South Africa Limited and Standard Chartered Bank. Smile’s shareholders now comprise Al Nahla Group, a Saudi Arabia-based company, which is the majority shareholder; Renven Investment Holdings, a pan-African investment vehicle, in which Nigerian investors, including the Obijackson Group, are the majority; Verene, representing Smile senior management and social entrepreneurs from South Africa; Telecom Investments, a Saudi Arabian-based investment company; Capitalworks, an active alternative management company, specialising in investment in the African mid-market”; the PIC; and Smile employees.

Under the terms, the funding will be used to accelerate national network roll-out, including equipment and services provided by Alcatel Lucent and Ericsson, a full MPLS (Multiprotocol Label Switching) network, a London Point of Presence and expanded international backhaul services, and to fund operational expenditure and working capital.

Smile’s objective is to become the broadband provider of choice for super-fast data and clear voice in each of its markets and to provide over 300 million potential customers in its four countries of operation with a fast, reliable and high quality platform to accelerate development and wealth creation. There is persuasive evidence linking broadband to job creation; the Brookings Institution states that “for every one percentage point increase in broadband penetration, employment is projected to increase by 0.2 to 0.3 percent per year.” Furthermore, according to the Broadband Strategies Handbook by The World Bank, “a 10 percent increase in the penetration rate of broadband in developing countries is associated with a 1.4 percent increase in GDP per capita.”

The funding is one of the largest capital raises ever for a telecommunications operator in Africa and brings the total funding committed to Smile since its founding in 2007 to approximately USD600 million.

Darisami International Consultancy Ltd acted as financial advisor to Smile.

Irene Charnley, Chief Executive Officer of Smile, said, “Now that we are fully funded to deliver national coverage of unrivalled super-fast internet access and clear voice services, our priority is to ensure that our customers experience and benefit from the power of high speed mobile broadband compared to the narrowband services available to date, including how to effectively manage the superior experience in terms of data consumption.”

Sheikh Mohammed Sharbatly, Deputy Chairman of Smile, said, “I have recently had the joy of using the Smile network in Nigeria, and the quality is better than what we experience in the United Kingdom and in Saudi Arabia. By licensing 800MHz spectrum for commercial use at an early stage relative to many other countries, including high-income ones, the governments of Nigeria, Tanzania, Uganda and the DRC have each demonstrated commitment to be at the forefront of the broadband revolution and to accelerate development and GDP growth, and we commend them.”

Mr Eric Behner, Country Manager, Smile Tanzania, said “The availability of a reliable high-speed, broadband Internet service in the country will help businesses and individuals become more productive and efficient, and this in itself is an economic enabler. I am pleased to be part of a company that has the potentials to improve the lives of the people of Tanzania, and the other African countries that we operate in, as well as create employment opportunities.”
