That's Gauthier Destenay, the First Gentleman of Luxembourg and the husband of the world's only acting openly gay prime minister. Destenay and Luxembourg Prime Minister Xavier Bettel wed in 2015, right after Luxembourg legalized gay marriage.

When Bettel won the Prime Ministership in 2013, he was already in a civil partnership with Destenay and their sexualities were not a secret. To be clear, Bettel isn't the only gay prime minister ever, just the only one in office right now. Former Belgian Prime Minister Elio Di Rupo and former Icelandic Prime Minister Jóhanna Sigurõardóttir were both public about their sexualities.

Destenay, a Belgian architect, joined the likes of US First Lady Melania Trump in Brussels on Thursday while their partners were off discussing world matters. The First Gentleman posed for photos with the group of women at Royal Castle of Laeken on Thursday evening ahead of a dinner especially for spouses.

The Obituary of Late Actor, Olumide Bakare has been released.

Olumide Bakare died after being ill for over three years, battling heart and lung illnesses.

The Wake Keeping is on the 25th of May 2017 at St James Cathedral, Oke Bola, Ibadan. His burial will hold on the 26th of May at the same venue.

Olumide Bakare is survived by his wife, children and Grandchildren.

Embattled movie marketer and alleged fraudster, Seun Egbegbe has spent 100 days in prison according to reports.

The lanky showbiz promoter continues to wane in the general cell of Ikoyi prisons where he has taken residence. Family and friends of Egbegbe have not been able to secure his bail.

According to a source close to Egbegbe, friends and benefactors have abandoned him, leaving him to bear his cross alone “Now, the frequency of people visiting him in the prison has reduced drastically. All his friends and followers have deserted him.

They are afraid of being implicated. It is only his heavily pregnant girlfriend, Nikky Berry and his parents that visit him now.

They still prepare his food from home. Most of his girlfriends and those he supports financially have deserted him. Nikky is the only girl left with him now” the source said.

In addition, no one wants to stand as surety for Egbegbe due to the strict nature of the bail conditions.

According to the source:”Things are not as expected at all. He earlier thought it was a child’s play. It’s now he understands better the kind of situation he is in. I learnt that his family has since been running from pillar to post to get him out of detention, but their efforts are yet to yield the desired results as nobody is ready to stand as surety for him because of the stringent conditions attached.”

Recall that Seun Egbege was arrested for allegedly defrauding some Bureau De Change operatives of over N40 million, between 2016 and February 2017. He has been granted bail since February of N5 million with two sureties each in a sum of N2.5 million.

Justice Oguntoyinbo of the Federal High Court in Lagos ruled that Mr. Egbegbe be granted bail once he meets his bail requirements.

Snap Inc., the newly public corporate parent of Snapchat, makes its money by telling advertisers that it has a base of young, obsessed users who can’t be reached as easily anywhere else.

That claim has met more skepticism lately as Facebook Inc.’s applications rush to copy Snapchat’s most popular feature -- a tool called stories that allows people to upload video snippets of their day, which disappear after 24 hours.

The feature has been most popular on Facebook’s Instagram, where it’s used by 200 million people daily, more than Snapchat’s entire app.

But Snapchat can still say it has a unique offering, according to App Annie.

The app data firm measured user behavior during the fourth quarter and said that on an average day, 35 percent of Snapchat’s daily users in the U.S. aren’t reachable on Facebook that same day, and 46 percent can’t be found on Instagram.

About 61 percent of Snapchat’s fans aren’t watching YouTube on a given day, either. Snap said it had 60 million daily active users in the fourth quarter in the U.S. and Canada.

While many people use multiple social media apps to communicate with friends, the finding could help Snap sell ads in a lucrative market that’s increasingly dominated by Facebook and Alphabet Inc.’s Google, which owns YouTube.

The company, which will give its first public quarterly earnings report next week, must prove to advertisers that it’s a long-term investment, not just an experimental venue.


Though Snapchat’s features are being copied, the app remains unique in an important way: there are no likes or sharing of content, as on Facebook’s apps. So people tend to use Snapchat for more ephemeral moments, while they use Facebook and Instagram to craft an image of themselves.

That’s how advertisers should think about their choice, said Harry Kargman, chief executive officer of Kargo, which manages mobile advertising for media companies.

“Do you want to be in the aspirational environment of Instagram or do you want to be in the real, true peer-to-peer environment of Snapchat?” Kargman said. “Those are two very different purposes.”

Chocolate City Boss and social activist, Mr. Audu Maikori has sued the Governor of Kaduna State, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai for the violation of his human rights.

In a suit (FHC/ABJ/CS/385/17) filed by his lawyers, Ballason’s Chambers at the Federal High Court, Abuja, Mr. Maikori, is seeking damages against Governor El-Rufai to the tune of N10 billion.

According to details of the suit, which came up for hearing before the trial judge, Hon. Justice John Tsoho on Tuesday, 16th May, 2017, Mr. Maikori prayed the court to enforce his fundamental rights against undue harassment and intimidation by the Kaduna State government, the State Governor and the Nigerian Police.

Nigeria's Acting President Yemi Osinbajo, has revealed that another Chibok school girl has been found.

This comes barely 13 days after 82 of the abducted school girls were released by Boko Haram members in exchange for some of their imprisoned commanders.

Yemi Osinbajo announced the new development during the Federal Executive Council meeting which he chaired Wednesday.

Senior Special Assistant to President Buhari on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, confirmed the report.

He says the Defense headquarters have confirmed that the girl has been found but that the details of the report is still sketchy.

"It's mere propaganda"- Nigerian Army reacts to new videos of Boko Haram commanders threatening to attack Abuja

The Nigerian Army has reacted to the newly released video of Boko Haram terrorists threatening to blow up the country's capital, Abuja.

In a press statement issued by the Nigerian Army spokesman, he stated categorically that the recent Boko Haram Video released is mere propaganda.

The statement reads;
The attention of Nigerian Army has been drawn to two video clips released by one of the released Boko Haram terrorists in exchange for the abducted Chibok school girls.

In the first clip the terrorist, among other things, made boastful and spurious allegations, while the second clip was about alleged indoctrination of some of the abducted Chibok school girls in captivity. We wish to state that the terrorist has lost touch with current realities.

It was aimed at seeking relevance and attention. As you are all aware, he was a direct beneficiary of the process that led to the release of 82 of the abducted girls, and does not have a say or capacity to do anything, therefore his threats should be ignored.

We would like to assure the public that the Nigerian Army is totally committed to the Federal Government’s determined efforts of rescuing all abducted persons and peace in the country.

We will not relent our determined efforts of clearing the remnants of the Boko Haram terrorists as manifested through the ongoing clearance operations.

The Nigerian Air Force is unrelenting in its bombardment while other Security Agencies are equally doing their best.

Therefore, we wish to solicit for more support, cooperation and understanding of the public, particularly members of the Press.

We should not give in to terrorists propaganda and empty threats.

The scheduled trial of Nollywood actress, Mercy Aigbe’s husband, Olanrewaju Gentry, 52, who was accused of battering her was on Friday adjourned till July 12.

Sources at the court however disclosed that the matter failed to come up because Gentry’s relatives have commenced the process of securing bail for him.

Gentry who is presently in custody Medium Security Prison, Kirikiri is facing a three count charge offense bordering on breach of public peace, assault and causing grievous bodily harm on his wife before Magistrate Mrs O Aje- Afunwa.

The Police prosecutor, Inspector N. Peter had alleged that Gentry on April 17, conducted himself in a manner likely to cause breach of peace by constituting nuisance and behaving in a disorderly manner in a public place.

According to the prosecutor. Gentry unlawfully assaulted one Mercy by beating her with his fists all over her body.

He was further alleged to have caused Mercy Aigbe grievous bodily harm after giving her a blow on the nose which made blood to start gushing out.

Gentry however pleaded not guilty to the charges.

The accused was granted bail in the sum of N500,000 with two sureties in the like sum.

I will not be accepting any chieftancy title until I leave office- Delta state gov, Ifeany Okowa tells monarchs


Delta state governor, Ifeanyi Okowa has said he will not take any Chieftaincy title while in office. Okowa stated this today when he paid a courtesy call on the Odio Ologbo of Oleh in Isoko South local government area of Delta State, HRM Anthony Ovramwah who was celebrating his 80th birthday.

While at the monarch's palace, Okowa expressed gratitude to different Kingdoms that desire to honour him with Chieftaincy titles but stated that such titles would be taken after he has left office as Governor.


"I will not take Chieftaincy titles during my tenure as Governor, all titles will be deferred till after I have left office" he said
