Soda ash is good but makes water to taste like boiled water. Calcite gives water a better taste than soda ash.

You can use calcite/corrosex/akdolite/soda ash to raise the ph of the water.

You need to take your raw water to water analysis laboratory to test for hardness and iron level.

The hardness level is okay. With this level the raw water is soft.

Your raw water is very good. You just need to raise the ph by using calcite/akdolite/corrosex/soda ash and also add chlorine.

The chloride level is okay.

You can reduce iron in water by the use of greensand media or birm. You can also use a process called Oxidation and settlement.I have the same problem with my water.You can send me mail so that we can share/exchange ideas. My email address is jokulaja9@gmail.com

Thank you for reply. You are actually right on your observation about me that I have a Pure Water factory. I have not commenced production because my water has high level of hardness. I am currently trying to build a reserve osmosis to treat the water.

I plan to start production by September.

Thank you for the profit analysis. It is really informative. I have some questions for you based on your profit analysis.

1. You said the driver salary is N18,000. Don't you think the salary is small for a driver ?

2.What method of remuneration for drivers do you think is the best to increase sales?Is it commission or fixed salary?

3. Do you still give incentive when the driver does not sell up to 1200 bags in a day?

4. How do you monitor the fuel for distribution in the truck?

5. How many bags do your truck carry per trip?

Are you sure that profit can be made in Pure Water business with the high cost of nylon. See the calculation below based on 1kg:

30bags @N100= 3,000
Cost of nylon = 1,400
_____
1,600
The N1600 above is what is left to take care of distribution cost, staff salaries, cost of Diesel, repair of generator etc. I believe this will not be able to cover these costs and still make profit.

What is your take?

How many bags of Pure Water will 1kg of 36 micron of nylon give?

I am also interested. Anybody with good information should discuss it on this forum for people to benefit.
