I am sure russia thought the war against Ukraine would have ended in a few weeks ....see how long it has dragged

Let the voice of reason prevail
I have a simple question.

During the day, Russians at the front make 15-20 thousand artillery shots (this is according to the estimates of the Ukrainian side).
And NATO countries plan to increase the production of shells in 2024 to 42 thousand units of ammunition, in 2025 — up to 75 thousand per year

Do you really think that it is possible to deploy such military production capacities as Russia's in a week, a month or even six months?

well, Russia was thinking of ending Ukraine quickly, in a couple of months at most, right?
And when it became clear that it would not work quickly, then Putin took out a magic wand and suddenly the capacity of the Russian military-industrial complex increased significantly, right?

And Nato countries do not have such a magic wand. Therefore, they need years..

You think right, Russians are stupid. For 8 years, they calmly watched how, under the guise of the Minsk agreements, NATO pumped Ukraine with weapons and trained the Ukrainian army.
These stupid Russians looked calmly and did nothing.

After all, everyone knows that Russians are used to imagining God knows what about themselves and always hope to defeat the enemy with their bare hands in a couple of weeks

Come on! Russia thought to finish everything in three days! or in a day!

and then Putin took and snapped his fingers - and instantly the Russian economy switched to military rails, military factories started working in three shifts 7 days a week and new military factories opened producing new weapons.

That's how it's done, right? They thought that in three days, and when it didn't work out, they pressed a button, like in a computer game, and suddenly their own banking system appeared instead of swift, the ruble itself got rid of the dollar and instantly the country became capable of fighting for a long time.

in general, I envy you. you're a telepath, apparently. You penetrate the thoughts of the Russian leadership like a great magician!

You fail to understand human nature, and truth is power changes people, in a democracy there some levels of checks and balances that prevents a leader from abusing power, in a dictatorship there are zero.

I think most corrupt democracies are usually preceded by a dictatorship
Of course, I don't understand anything about human nature!
I do not understand at all that democracy is written right in a person's genes and that one should pray for democracy, since the White Gods - the Americans - ordered the Africans it to be done.

the system of checks and balances has absolutely nothing to do with democracy.
In the USA, for example, there is no democracy in the USA, as in African countries, but there is a system of checks and balances.

In many European countries - there is no democracy, there is a monarchy at all; and there is a system of checks and balances

Or has no one told you, a great connoisseur of human nature, that in Europe 12 countries are secular monarchies (not democratic republics), and 1 country is a theocratic absolute monarchy?

In general, in order to distinguish the truth from lies about Russia, you can stop at a very simple anecdote.
Although this is an anecdote, it briefly expresses the main thing about the Russians.

here is the story:

There are peoples who do not know how to fight and do not like to fight (for example, the Chinese); there are warlike peoples who like to fight and know how to do it (for example, tuaregs, vikings, сhechens); there are peoples who like to fight but do not know how to do it (for example, the Poles).

But there is only one people in the world who REALLY does not like to fight - but KNOWS HOW TO FIGHT BETTER THAN ANYONE IN THE WORLD. And this is the Russian people.

"I build the world, I love the peace. But I can fight better than anyone" (c) Russian soldier

Thank you for the kind words addressed to me.

And as for propaganda..
"We need Russia to sell itself to the world more"
firstly, Russia cannot influence this - Russian media are blocked in the West, many countries have imposed strict censorship at home; up to criminal prosecution for speaking about Russia at least neutrally.

And secondly.. in fact, it makes no sense to spend money and time on information wars and PR, because no matter how many billions of dollars you invest in lies and propaganda, the truth still breaks out.

People who listen to propaganda look at the reality around them. And if propaganda does not correspond to objective reality.. people start thinking and start looking for alternative sources of information on their own.

in general, the Russians have a joke:

Two Russian soldiers are standing on the ruins of the White House in Washington, trying to smoke in a strong wind.
Finally, one soldier managed to light a cigarette; he takes a couple of puffs, hands a cigarette to a comrade - and says bitterly:
- You know, Vasya, but we still lost the information war."

Let me explain the Russian character a little.

If there is some dispute with neighbors, allies /opponents, the Russians first try to negotiate. at this moment, for the very first time, the Russians offer the most advantageous agreement for neighbors/allies/enemies.

Almost always Russians make the first offer to the detriment of themselves.

But we must understand that Russians are actually calculating, cold-blooded, insidious and VERY CRUEL.

Russians are very insidious.

Russians ALWAYS make the best first offer in a way that the other side thinks: Russians are weak, Russian are fools, we need to apply a little more force to them, and we will be able to snatch even more."

It's a trap. It's a death trap. as a result, the Russians will destroy everything

I also know that Russia always makes every next offer in negotiations worse than the previous ones; and if Ukraine and NATO countries continue to balk, then Russia will take away all the Black Sea ports from Ukraine and break through the corridor to Transnistria.

But why does Russia need Kiev/Kharkiv and everything else?

Oh!

But same Finland shares a long boarder with Kiev and even closer to St. Petersburg. How come it’s not a threat?

Your justification won’t fly! Putin could not fight on two fronts and Finland was quick enough to join NATO

Going into a war with Finland would have spelled doom for Russia. Putin learnt from Hitler and why he acted like nothing happened.
Finland had received a lot of benefits from the USSR, and then from Russia, for neutrality since the Second World War. discounts on gas, timber, oil, the Saimaa Canal (= connects the Finnish Lake Saimaa with the Vyborg Bay), visa-free entry to the territory of residents of border regions, joint projects in nuclear energy and much more.

After Finland joined NATO, Russia blocked the Saimaa Canal = now cargo from China and Asia is transported to Finland by long detour routes, no gas, no timber and no oil. Residents of the Finnish borderlands can no longer buy cheaper (and high-quality) food and gasoline in Russia, as they have done for the last 15 years at least.

Almost all Finnish companies were forced to sell their assets in Russia for a song to Russians.
Finnish planes are forced to fly around the territory of Russia if they want to make a flight somewhere to the east.

Tourism in Finland has also suffered greatly.
Finland is a small country, and a lot of resorts were built there for Russians.
It's all over now.

And more. As soon as Finland joined NATO, Russia immediately withdrew from the international treaty, according to which it could not place some types of weapons on the European part of the country.

So. It is still unknown whether an American military base will ever be built in Finland, but Russia has already dragged a lot of unpleasant (for European NATO members) things to its northwestern borders .

And Russia did not attack Finland because the Finns, unlike the Ukrainians, did not accumulate weapons, and did not plan to attack Karelia and Vyborg, were not going to arrange genocide of the Russian population.

So Russia punished the Finns for violating the post-war neutrality treaty only economically and got rid of the stupid old agreements with NATO on the non-deployment of certain types of weapons west of the Urals.

PS. in the dry balance, Russia robbed Finland economically and with great pleasure got rid of the old treaties with NATO - Many thanks to Erdogan!

Probably politics, to show they can do it all alone without USA dictating to them.
Who knows how much is in the grain business deals.
You're wrong. It was the USA/Western countries that demanded that Russia conclude a grain deal

what is its essence?

Since the beginning of the special operation, Russia has blocked Ukrainian cargo transportation in the Black Sea in order to block the supply of weapons from NATO countries this way.

NATO countries+The UN started screaming that poor African countries will now starve to death, as they depend on Ukrainian grain.

OK, Russia has agreed to open corridors for bulk carriers transporting grain in exchange for some of its conditions.

Russia has fulfilled its obligations, the US and the EU have not.

and what are the results of the transaction?

The top 10 buyers of Ukrainian agricultural products are:
China (7.9 million tons), Spain (5.9 million tons), Turkey (3.2 million tons), Italy (2 million tons), the Netherlands (1.92 million tons), Egypt (1.5 million tons), Bangladesh (1 million tons), Israel (0.87 million tons), Tunisia (0.71 million tons) and Portugal (0.7 million tons).

As you can see, there is not a single starving country in the top 10, and even more so in the top 5. At the same time, 51% of total exports fell on corn, that is, animal feed and raw materials for the production of biofuels, and not wheat as the main product for the production of flour and pasta.

At the same time, the European Commission banned the export of Ukrainian grain to five EU countries at their request. We are talking about Bulgaria, Hungary, Poland, Romania and Slovakia.

What's in it for these countries scrambling to secure this grain deal with Russia.

What are they even gaining from it?
And some more explanations on the grain deal

Russia is blocking cargo transportation in some ports of Ukraine on the Black Sea on the grounds that Ukrainian authorities are trying to carry weapons under the guise of peaceful cargo.

During the grain deal, Russia allowed Ukrainian ships to sail on the Black Sea, the Turks were engaged in inspection for the presence of unauthorized cargo.

After Russia withdrew from the deal, the Ukrainian authorities first tried to beg the Turks for military convoys for their ships.
Of course, the Turks were surprised by the stupidity of the Ukrainian authorities and refused

After that, the stupid Ukrainian authoritiesproudly declared that they would organize grain exports through ports on the Danube, through Romania, and Russia ha-ha-ha would not be able to do anything at all

The day after these statements, Russia fired missiles at the ports of Reni and Izmail. These are ports that are very close to Romania. Romanians filmed a lot of videos of missile arrivals at these ports.
Now Ukrainian authorities offer ship owners to import/export cargo from their ports at their own risk. This is what they say to the owners / captains of ships: "you must be persistent and aware of the risks, take responsibility for yourself."

After breaking the grain deal, insurers immediately stopped insuring cargo transportation from Ukrainian Black Sea ports.

PS. In general, I don't understand how you can survive in our world, being as stupid as Ukrainian authorities

UPD.

Of course, Russia will not sink other people's peaceful bulk carriers in the Black Sea. The maximum is to stop for inspection, as it recently happened with a Ukrainian vessel.

But in order to stop grain exports/arms imports, Russia does not need to sink ships at all.

It is enough for Russians to destroy the infrastructure of ports.
The Ukrainian authorities still cannot understand that in any way Russia can reach any corner of Ukraine even with missiles fired from a small riverboat in the upper Volga or from the Caspian Sea or the Baltic Sea, and even from the Arctic Ocean seas/from the Arctic, Russia can spit missiles into any corner of Ukraine.

It is not necessary to lift planes into the air for this.

What's in it for these countries scrambling to secure this grain deal with Russia.

What are they even gaining from it?
For Russia , the benefit turned out to be as follows:

Russia was pressured to "let us export Ukrainian grain, otherwise Africa is starving." but in fact, none of the starving countries received grain; international charitable organizations received very little grain. Russia has received a lot of PR because of this. Now Russia has said that all starving countries can turn to it for grain directly (we have record harvests for several years in a row).

In addition, Russia benefits when its allies solve their serious problems.

Now, if someone wants to get Russian grain instead of Ukrainian, he must run around on his own and solve problems with cargo insurance that fall under sanctions. Western insurers cannot insure Russian sea cargo transportation due to sanctions.

But now it's not our headache. Whoever wants to eat, he will come up with something.

Unfortunately, I do not know who it is: Alamgir Badassniggga Kings nairaland devkota

Therefore, I do not understand which specific countries you are asking about

I can only say what benefits the countries participating in the grain deal received.

You can read more about the conditions and what came out as a result, for example, here
https://ukraina.ru/20230717/1048049631.html
(use the google translator)

In short, I can say that China and Turkey have benefited the most from the deal.
most of the cheap Ukrainian grain was exported to China. China imports a lot of food, especially grain crops.
In addition to grain, the Turks received payment for mediation and PR

Russia fulfilled its terms of the deal, but Western countries did not.
But Russia endured for a while for the sake of China and Turkey. So that they get their cheap grain.

The deal was terminated only after the end of the elections in Turkey, which Erdogan won.
