Frankly speaking, I feel tough sanctions should do. The country should not enter Niger though there's a good chance that Nigeria and its supporting nations would win. One can not confidently predict the outcome.

That's how America crushed the Taliban in 2001 only to be engaged in a ferocious guerrilla war with them for over a decade.

Iraq is another good example.

A peaceful solution must be found.
What peaceful solution was found in Erdogan's own country when his military tried to overthrow him? What peaceful solution has been found in places like North Korea, Myanmar, Eritrea and Sudan? What peaceful solution could have gotten Hitler out of power?

War may or may not be the right answer in this case, but the insistence that the only solution is always through peaceful dialog is a senseless one if the other party has no interest in talking. In that case it's as senseless as saying policemen should always end robberies through "peaceful dialog" with the robbers. Sometimes force really is the only answer, wishful thinking to the contrary.

Not long ago, before this Niger crisis, someone posted on Nairaland a map of Nigeria's gas pipeline to Europe. If I recollect well, the map indicated that the old pipeline route took it a direct line to Europe through Niger and Algeria etc. However, the route was changed and the new line winds along the costal west African nations , then through Morocco (?) etc.

Is this not too much of a coincidence (it's as if the crisis in Niger was foreseen or people new what was coming )?

This Niger thing becomes more odd, the closer one looks at it.

Because rule by coup plotters has produced such good and honest leadership in Africa, right? Leaders like Mobutu, Amin, Bokassa, Doe, Eyadema, Museveni, Babangida, Abacha ... You coup supporters are lawless cretins of the lowest sort.

Does that warrant calling someone a cretin? Unnecessary anger and foul mouthedness is a symptom of psychiatric disorder and mental imbalance. Check your self before you say village people did this to you.

Simple logical discussion with an aim of sharing ideas, interacting and learning in the process, insult was your last resort and conclusion.
You need help for a non existent problem which is affecting you.

You make very strong points.

An invasion is the only option as thesw power huingry military boys are going nowhere without a fight.

.The.Nigerian army should fare much better in thiss war as they are fighting a conventional war and not one against insurgents who employ guerrilla tactics.

The entry of the Wagner Group into the conflict may prove very challenging.

It is a SHAME that African leaders didn't see this until the Turkish president is telling them. War and instability in West Africa on top of all the present hardship will favour "some"demons - I mean people. undecided undecided undecided undecided undecided undecided

War only favours a few people- the gun runners

I am sure russia thought the war against Ukraine would have ended in a few weeks ....see how long it has dragged

Let the voice of reason prevail

Come on! Russia thought to finish everything in three days! or in a day!

and then Putin took and snapped his fingers - and instantly the Russian economy switched to military rails, military factories started working in three shifts 7 days a week and new military factories opened producing new weapons.

That's how it's done, right? They thought that in three days, and when it didn't work out, they pressed a button, like in a computer game, and suddenly their own banking system appeared instead of swift, the ruble itself got rid of the dollar and instantly the country became capable of fighting for a long time.

in general, I envy you. you're a telepath, apparently. You penetrate the thoughts of the Russian leadership like a great magician!

I have a simple question.

During the day, Russians at the front make 15-20 thousand artillery shots (this is according to the estimates of the Ukrainian side).
And NATO countries plan to increase the production of shells in 2024 to 42 thousand units of ammunition, in 2025 — up to 75 thousand per year

Do you really think that it is possible to deploy such military production capacities as Russia's in a week, a month or even six months?

well, Russia was thinking of ending Ukraine quickly, in a couple of months at most, right?
And when it became clear that it would not work quickly, then Putin took out a magic wand and suddenly the capacity of the Russian military-industrial complex increased significantly, right?

And Nato countries do not have such a magic wand. Therefore, they need years..

You think right, Russians are stupid. For 8 years, they calmly watched how, under the guise of the Minsk agreements, NATO pumped Ukraine with weapons and trained the Ukrainian army.
These stupid Russians looked calmly and did nothing.

After all, everyone knows that Russians are used to imagining God knows what about themselves and always hope to defeat the enemy with their bare hands in a couple of weeks

If it will take war to make life better for the generation to come for the great people of Niger then so be it .. Other countries don't know what some African countries are passing through the hands of the so call leaders but when action have being taken they will come and be acting idiotically..

If the people of Niger are not complaining about the military rule than why other countries are crying over it ?
