Dude, when you make a claim, you need to provide evidence, in the case of history, evidence is in the form of eyewitness written document, not "Wikipedia claim".
If you believe so much in that Wikipedia claim, then you should prove it rather than tell your interlocutor to take it up with Wikipedia.
You should use your own time to go through the Wikipedia references and get the eye witness written docs if they do exist. But instead of you wasting your time doing that, let me inform you that Wikipedia references are just books, not actual proofs, just books in which someone makes a claim, and you get to use that as back up to post the claim on Wikipedia.
To make things short, Wikipedia is horrible on African history. The Yorubas have a Wikipedia community which has basically taken over everything related to Benin kingdom on Wikipedia.

Anyone using wiki as proof is not lettered, anybody can edit Wikipedia, there seem to be a Yoruba infusion into Benin in order to steal Bini’s glory. see someone interpreting Ughoton as Ughotoun-he calls it the city of Eledumare, One of our brother raised alarm that according to the short history of Benin written by Egharevba, the Edo version nowhere was it mentioned that the Heads of past Oba’s of Benin was taken to Ife, that it was after it was interpreted, that was when they now introduce that theory.

And besides I have raised alarm twice here on nairaland about the false population of Bini on Wikipedia on nairaland here. First, the population of Benin city on Wikipedia is wrong, the person placed wrong figure there with no proof whatsoever, tomorrow a neophyte would go on to that site and quote that figure

Yesterday it was just the population of Ikpoba Okha, that is also wrong, and has no foundation that I found yesterday. Anyone who will quote Wikipedia as is major source of information is allergic to research

I already said it here before that the series is not for everyone except those that really understands the music industry and what's really going on.
Series like this that goes against the tides normally gets bad reviews and are not always renewed for new seasons.

People just want to watch series and start seeing bloods, fights and super heroes.
If it's not Batman or marvel's thor or extraction then it's not a great movie or series!!

How i wish they know that these popular series are never realistic but when they see a movie or series that tends to expose the hidden realities of the world, they say such series and movies are boring.

The idol is an expose into the music industry but only few people can relate because majority of people don't even understand the music industry.

The idol episode 1 and 2 is a solid 8/10 for me.

Omw thing about this series is how the casts killed their roles especially Jocelyn and the weeknd.
The first scene where she was changing her facial expressions was GOATED.
she showed pure GOD given talent, she is indeed the daughter of Johny Depp.

This series just kind of highlighted life behind the scenes in the music industry.

HBO giving us daring series, they are the best when it comes to series for mature audience.

Anyways i can't wait for episode 3 and i hope they won't cancel the series because it has the potential for running for 3 to 5 seasons.
