TWoods: I'm going to ignore the curses...
But the highlighted is wrong. I don't wish all immigration channels to be blocked. You and people like you are doing an excellent job of blocking it yourselves, one lie at a time.
Wait... isn't lucifer the father of all liars? Be careful ma'am. Which lie did I tell you troll? You better be careful before you attract curses to your self. Don't you have better things to do than be trolling all over nairaland with your unsolicited negativity? Like I said, we know your type, never do wells, dredge of society who's biggest achievement is claiming to be living in the U.S.. I'm probably living better than you over here. This would be the last reply I waste on you. |

Arry110: you're so forking mean He is such a terrible despicable human being. Being in such an exposed environment for years like he claimed didn't have any effect on his manner of approach at all. Can you imagine this despicable excuse of a human being telling me I'm going to be denied a visa? Must be a descendant of Lucifer himself. @twoods we know your type. It's your type that wish all immigration channels be blocked so that other people don't get opportunity to migrate, all because of your selfish myopic sense of reasoning. People like you never do well cause of the negativity they carry around. |

TWoods: They are not always looking for mistakes, they are looking for cases of deliberate misrepresentation, such as is the case you are responding to. This is endemic with us... we cannot be trusted to tell the truth, largely because we have a country where obtaining fraudulent documents is easy because of our poor record keeping. In first world countries, records can be easily verified so it is harder to lie. That is why it is easier for them.
Everyone is asking her to go get a divorce decree, but at no point did she tell us she was ever dating, engaged or married to anyone. So exactly who is she getting a divorce from? It is most likely she put "married" because she thought she could use that to show "home ties". There is a lot she is leaving out of her story... for example, what happened at her non-immigrant visa interview? Was she asked about her marriage? How did she answer? All these are in her records... just getting a clearly false divorce decree wont solve her problem. About what happened with my non immigrant visa interview, I was denied, no questions about my marital status asked, no document collected or looked at, they just checked and saw that I had a immigrant visa case in process and was told to wait for that. |

I wasn't single, I was going to be married. There are no options made for people that are engaged, in my head, I thought okay since I'm going to be married in a few months why not just fill it in as married. It was an honest mistake. No need for you to crucify me. You can give your opinions without casting aspersions on my person. My ds260 form has always carried my status as single from the on set and this is exactly what I will say at the embassy. The marriage never went through and I'm still single. Whatever their decision is then, so be it. |

TWoods: Let me cut to the chase. You will be denied at your interview. You basically lied in order to obtain an immigration benefit... they will ask you why you are single and if you cannot produce a valid divorce decree, you're basically toast. Okay |

Ajenikoko89: Its such a complicated issue, I would advice you wait till tge Interview letter is sent to you and please dont think of getting any divorce paper for marriage you didnt do because it would surely be verified and that could be very costly.Misrepresentation is a serious issue in US immigrant visa. You can maintain the single and explain that in your culture co habiting is liking to being married . Oh many thanks for your input and advice. I will surely take this to heart. Yes it's complicated but the attorney handling the case for my sponsor advice us to leave my ds260 has single since that's my current status. Hopefully it won't come up in the interview and if it does, this advice you gave sure makes sense. Thanks once again |

uchetobi: There’s nothing wrong in applying for visiting visa while waiting for your immigration case.
We got and renewed multiple b1/b2 and now we are living in the USA on an L1 visa while waiting for our f4 immigrant visa to be current.
The key is to always remain honest and consistent. If you are asked during the interview about the discrepancy, be honest and hope for the best! Thank you very much for your feed back. I appreciate the information. |

Thank you for your reply but please take it easy on the judgement. It was purely ignorance. And the part about desperation, it's not what you think. I wanted to attend an important family function and they all agreed that I should try to apply for a visiting visa since its not a law that if your filing case is under process you can't apply for a visiting visa. So that's it. Anyways all the same I appreciate your feed back. May lines fall into places for everyone seeking live changing opportunities. ceej: Why should you say you were married, when you were not even sure the marriage will happen..That is tantamount to lies.. Anyways it should not affect your immigrant visa because it is your sponsors profile that matters most..Meanwhile why did you apply for another visa when you already have one in process..una desperation no go put un for trouble |

Hi all. Great submissions all through, learnt alot. Glad I found this forum. Like many others, I'm also on this journey that has become such a long tumultuous process of waiting, hoping and praying. My pd is June 2015, DQ May 2021, awaiting interview letter. Having read through almost all pages on this forum, I have a question or should I say a small worry concerning my case or perhaps I'm just being paranoid. My category is F1, but about 3 -4 years ago , I applied for non immigrant visiting visa which was denied but in that application, I filled married, cause I was engaged then and thought I was going to get married, which didn't happen, which makes me single up till today. Now my question to the experts in the house is, now that I'm awaiting my interview letter for my immigrant visa, if that comes through hopefully soon, will I be asked about the change of my marital status at the embassy because of what I filled in my visiting visa application form years ago, or will they just go by what's filled in my ds260 which indicates single? This is my question. Looking forward to your replies. Thank you in advance! |
