Felabration is the annual festival of music and arts commemorating the life and times of Nigerian’s foremost musical icon, the late great Fela Anikulakpo Kuti. As a music brand, it’s revered and highly influential. 28-year-old Olaolu Akorede Olabode CEO of HG2 Films & HG2 Online Magazine has been arrested by the operatives of the Area J Command, Ajah, Lagos for allegedly procuring an harmful herbal liquid for his lover, Halimat, to drink for the treatment of diabetics, which later allegedly terminated her pregnancy and damaged her fallopian tube.

His arrest followed a petition by Halimat through her counsel in the Chamber of Bislaw Legal Practitioners. Halimat, in the petition, said: “I met the suspect in New York, U.S, in November, 2016 while both of us were on vacation and began a relationship. He got me engaged in Newyork January 10th 2017. He was legally married to Oyinlola Omowunmi Oludaye unknowingly to me.

When I came back to Nigeria, I noticed that I was pregnant and I told him about the development and he was very happy on the phone. And he begged me to keep the pregnancy till he comes back to Nigeria for us to wed.

He requested for a return ticket to come back to Nigeria and I spent N400k to purchase a return ticket for him. When he came back to Nigeria, he also collected the sum of N2.5m from me to prepare for our wedding.

But instead, he went to Abeokuta, Ogun State, to meet a native doctor who prepared a herbal liquid for him which he claimed was for treatment of diabetics. He convinced me to drink it and because I did not suspect anything, I drank from it.

Unknown to me, it was to abort my pregnancy or to kill me. After drinking it, I began stooling blood and ended up in the hospital. Doctors later performed surgery on me and discovered that the herbal liquid had affected my unborn baby and damaged my Fallopian tube." .

Akorede, however, denied almost all the allegations, but admitted that he procured herbal liquid for her to treat her diabetics. On the 21st of April, he was arraigned before an Igbosere Magistrate Court on a 4 count charge of obtaining N2.5m under false pretense, procuring unknown herbal liquid to terminate pregnancy, maliciously administering poison which caused the death of an unborn baby.

Magistrate Mrs. O. O. Otitoju admitted him on bail in the sum of N200,000 with two sureties in like sum. He was remanded at Ikoyi prison till April 28th 2017 upon meeting his bail conditions. Case comes up next on 21st may 2017.

After a successful Peace Concert and Fiesta at Ile Ife, In-House Entertainment LTD has announced the next event, expected to bring young people from the SouthWestern region of the country together. The event is expected to empower young people right there at the event.

Speaking to journalists after the Fiesta, Ambassador Ayo George, CEO of In-House Entertainment hinted that The Youth Summit is not just going to be a talk shop.

He said "we have been used to having seminars and summits that the speakers would just come to excite everyone, say motivational stuffs that is almost impossible to make happen in this kind of environment. The Youth Summit is going to be different. It is going to be a platform to empower young people with information and financial support. I remember trying to register my first company was tough. N8,000 at the time for business name was really tough until an uncle loaned me that. You get a young man or woman started in life if he or she can do business starting from the bottom right to the top. This is what The Youth Summit is about, this is what In-House Entertainment is about, making life better whether with social events or intellectual events, and we chose Ibadan because the city is at the centre and it is accessible to everyone from other states in the region". He concluded.

The Youth Summit comes up on Monday, the 2nd of October, 2017 in Ibadan, Africa.
