As His Imperial Majesty, Ooni Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja II, Ooni of Ife returns from his well coordinated visit to the Commonwealth and the United Kingdom, plans are under way to put up a superlative peace concert that would further entrench peace and deepen unity in Ile-Ife.

Speaking at his reception at the Ile Oodua, Palace of the Ooni of Ife, the Project Director of the Fiesta and Peace Concert, Mr. Ayo George said “We would recall that the Osun State Government and the Arole Oodua had began efforts to further show the world that Ile-Ife and indeed Osun State is a land of peace, unity and indeed the source of all good tidings before he travelled. Also recall that the Osun State Government recently set up a fact finding committee to get to the root cause of the recent misgivings and also ensure that such an occurrence is never again to be heard in the city renown to be the cradle of all beginnings.

“The Peace Concert is also part of efforts to compliment these efforts by His Imperial Majesty and His Excellency, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola.

“All sons and daughters of Ile-Ife shall be trooping out and standing together as one, alongside other tribes, ethnic groups, religion, and tongues at this coming Peace Concert.

“All roads would therefore lead to Ile-Ife on the 6th and 7th of May for the Ile-Ife Fiesta and Peace Concert.

“First day would be showcasing the culture and rich tradition of the various tribes, and unveiling of Peace Ambassadors that have worked relentlessly behind the scene to see that Peace is restored in Ile-Ife, while day two being the musical concert and awards is dedicated to deserving sons and friends of Ile-Ife. Indeed no effort shall be spared to see that absolute peace is propagated in Ile-Ife, Osun State and Nigeria at large”, he said.

Also at the reception was Mr. Kayode Makinde; Manager of the Ife branch of Fidelity Bank PLC, one of the foremost Banks in Nigeria, and the official Bank for the Fiesta and Peace Concert. He said; “There shall be stage performances, drama and other surprises from all major tribes within the Kingdom, Yoruba, Hausa and Igbo. The event is expected to also further promote tourism, oneness and our common heritage as Nigerians. Prominent Nigerians and celebrities are expected at the special event. The event would be packaged by In-House Entertainment and supported by major media platforms across Nigeria.”

Ynorth: My name is Babalola Bamiro Oluwaseun. I’m the CEO of Ynorth wears, and we are into shoe making, we produce quality shoes. I attended Government College Ibadan, where I proceeded to Lagos State Polythecnic to study Computer Science. Am married to a beautiful woman, and I have two pretty kids.

As a graduate what were your parents reactions when you said you were going into shoe-making:

YNorth: Years back while staying with my Uncle, we also had cousins staying with us. A whole lot of them were jobless, so right from then, I changed my mindset and told myself I was going to venture into business. From there I started a lot of businesses, some worked, some crashed, but then I was able to win my parents and family over through my focus and tenacity. Though they did not like the idea initially.

Exactly a year ago, you were here in our studio, telling your fans that your girlfriend, now your wife (laughs), was the inspiration behind the ‘I DESERVE NEW SHOES’, question is what inspired you to this new debut’ I DESERVE NEW SHIRT’?

YNorth: Yes, My wife was the inspiration and now she is still my inspiration. But then, we just keep evolving from one idea to the other. From shoes to school shoes and now shirts with ties, and more are still coming out.

YNorth Wears has like 25 branches all over, would you say Ibadan is highly responsive to your fashion line, as compared to other states:

YNorth: Ibadan is the headquarters, so I would say yes, Ibadan has been extremely encouraging, and highly receptive. We started in Ibadan and stayed 5years before we moved to other states. Ibadan is home for me like I say. So shout outs to my Ibadan fans, they made it happen. And of course to my clients all over, I love you all too.

In This Time of Recession, how have you been coping business wise, has it affected sales in whatever way?

YNorth: Yes, It affected the prices of materials, now we put in more capital so we keep satisfying our clients’ demands. Also we couldn’t increase our prices, but then we have had so many promos that helped our clients, and invariably padded the effects of recession on our business. We maintained our prices while competitors increased theirs due to recession. This has helped us gain more market.

December this year, YNorth Wears will be 7years, what a great number!, So what should we, your fans expect from you after now, towards your 7th anniversary?

YNorth: We are taking YNorth to schools, where we make shoes affordable for parents. And then we are taking the burden off the parents. They wouldn’t have to go from stores to stores looking for school shoes for their kids. We call it the School Shoes Project. Watch out!

What habit of yours helped you towards success in business?

YNorth: It is my dream, that kept me on. Way back then I told myself, I would never write a CV, for any job, so that kept me going even in my challenges. So I was tenacious and highly focused.

What do you have for your female wears?

YNorth: The ‘I Deserve New Shirts’ is a brand for both male and female. We are rolling out different women shirts, so you can visit our store at Jericho, Ibadan for your choice. And watch out for kiddies shirts soon.

YNorth: Hold on to your dreams and never let go. 7years down the line has not been easy but I held on and with God’s Help, we are here today. And many thanks to my amiable wife too and my crew, plus all my customers out there.

Halimat Oniru is not new on the social and business radar, to some she is a Socialite, to some she is a major key player in dredging business. She can be traced to the Royal Oniru dynasty, a Prominent Royal Family in Lekki Lagos state. The drop dead gorgeous looking business woman is not your everyday personality on the social scene but her love for humanity transcends the imaginable.

Halimat is the CEO of HALEEMS INTEGRATED SERVICES LIMITED, a company that is specialized in Dredging, Construction, Equipment Leasing ,and Supplier. The company’s experience and midas touch as a major key player in the dredging sector has made her company a toast for many Engineering And Indigenous Oil Firms.

The genesis of the alleged messy feud with her friend started when her dredger was faulty and she needed to deliver to her client; Cross Rivers State Government, so she opted to lease a new dredger with the help of her friend Bukola Oladeji who solicited that the contract should be sub-contracted to her husband Oladejo Olabisi, Halimat agreed to sub-contract the job to them and they both reached an agreement in Calabar with Barrister Sunny Mgbe in attendance to binding the agreement with due process. Apparently, it was stated in the agreement the sharing formula is 65% for Halimat and 35% for Olabisi. Halimat then made Olabisi a signatory to one of her account with Stanbic IBTC.

The feud got messier when Bukola Oladejo introduced Wuraola Bekky Jegede known as Bekky Gold to her that she sells imported clothes from Paris, Italy and the United States which Halimat patronized her with over a million naira but Halimat later discovered that she buys her stuff from the popular Balogun market in Lagos and not Abroad, she always claim wanting to go and clear her goods at the port.

Bukola on the other hand sells sliming tea, without the consent of Halimat used her before and after picture to run an advert on Linda Ikeja's Blog which Halimat told her to remove the picture because it was without her consent . Wuraola came begging Halimat to forgive and continue patronizing her but Halimat chose to stay out of trouble by ignoring her. Meanwhile Bekky Gold went to tell Bukola that Halimat and her husband; Olabisi are dating, so, Bukola told her husband to withdraw the money he injected into the dredging business. Olabisi wrote several petition claiming the documents that backed the partnership deal was forged by Halimat to defraud him.

After confirmation and investigation it shows that the document was duly signed by both parties with the presence of a lawyer, this vindicated Halimat of being innocent of the allegation placed on her by Olabisi. All differences have been resolved personally and Halimat has been cleared on the issue.

Despite all these issues, Halimat's drive for her passion is still very much on the high side as her office in Delta is full of activities with lots of well executed contracts; Did a lot of dredging jobs for Bayelsa State Government in 2013, worked in areas like Ayamasa , Alebiri, Angalabri all in Ekeromo LGA in Bayelsa; Dredged for Setraco in Ogriagbene Community of Delta state; and just rounded up a clearing project of the super highway for Cross Rivers State Government.

Halimat's business; HALEEMS INTEGRATED SERVICES LIMITED is becoming a force to reckon with. Its tentacles is spanning across the coast of Africa. A company with 20 permanent staffs and 40 casual staffs. HALIMAT ONIRU is also a Philanthropist into Humanitarian Services quietly in her own little way. Also about to start up a Reclamation Project in Bakassi for Cross Rivers State Government. She is a Contractor with the Nigerian Navy, furnished NNS CORA in Lagos 2007.
