After rent, transport, food, data, and other small expenses, what is really left? In cities like Lagos or Abuja, ₦100k can disappear in just a few weeks if you’re not careful.

Some people will say it’s possible if you live a very strict lifestyle—manage your feeding, avoid unnecessary spending, and maybe stay with family to reduce rent. But for someone paying rent, handling bills alone, and still trying to save something, it’s honestly very difficult.

Prices of food, transport, and basic needs keep increasing, but salaries are not moving at the same pace. That’s why many people now depend on side hustles just to survive.

So let’s talk:

If you earn ₦100k monthly, how are you managing it?
Are you able to save anything at all?
Or do you think ₦100k is no longer realistic in today’s Nigeria?

Be honest—your experience might help someone here.

100k is nonsense in today's nigeria
For you to earn 100k
1) u are most likely paying 20 to 50k for tfare monthly
2) u are most likely buying data of 10k monthly
3) u must likely pay black tax of 10k to 20k monthly being Conservative
4) u mostly like visit a pharmacy to get drug for either yourself or ur relative of 5k to 15k monthly if it's hospital admission with test inclusive it's probably more
5) you most like likely save 10k to 40k monthly for your rent can be more
6) food...is still there oo.

I prefer to be called a physician or surgeon than to be called a doctor..that name has been bastadised...my lab tech is known as a doctor on the streets just becos he works in a hospital..if u check his bag it's filled with needles..antibiotics..antimalarial..Methylated spirit...cotton wool..Sterile guaze and suturing kit......

a lot of issues.who sees a standard hospital with may be Many specialist ( gynaecologist/theatre nurses/ anaesthetist) and now decide to be operated on in a hospital where anyone will just operate and assisted by a quack(may be one CHEW or a porter giving ketamine and the likes- because most people like using quacks for cheap labor just to maximize profit against standard protocols.one can not be sure if the person is even a doctor (anything goes in Nigeria)

You are right many male chew...technician's, Health tech working in hospitals are fronted as hospitals as doctors..when ever you ar sick they bombard you with all classes of antibiotics without considering your renal status etc..they mostly do house visits and work at night..anybody treating you..please verify their mdcn status..don't be treated by a hustler.

There is no secret formula. Each woman and man is different some men marry 5 wives and they all live in the same house no issues
Some men marry one wife and can't even bring his family member to spend one week in his matrimonial home.
Some men marry one wife with uncountable concubines just to make sure things his wife lack he doesn't take it upon her he simply helps her fill her void.
