Never ever talk about dirty or local backgrounds ever again when it comes to film! As a filmmaker this is the aesthetic we like, yamayama gritty backgrounds. Makes for compelling viewing, comprende?!

Why are people ignorant? Someone here said Nollywood is 14yrs old, but are cameras 14yrs old? Is filmmaking 14yrs old?

Hollywood had some if its greatest ever years in the 1930s. Yeah, the 1930s!!!! Wizard of Oz was made in 1939! The switch to movies with sound started in like 1927!!! Not even 10years had passed and they had classics on their hands.

We are in 2011!!!!! Wake up!!! Over 70yrs have passed and we have hardly made ONE film of worldwide acclaim. SUCKS big time! Because you have low standards doesnt mean the rest of us should buy into it abeg! What is wrong with people?? Robert Rodriguez made El Mariachi with $7000 dollars!

Ok so can anyone tell me how marketing and distribution works in Nollywood? I've heard the marketers basically give you a fee upfront and pirate the hell out of your movie. Is that it?? What if you print your own copies and sell to the marketers, or distribute it yourself somehow??

And what is this fee? I understand it depends on popularity of your actors and producers but roughly what, 30k/50k/100k USD?

I'm a new director and i need to know that i can recoup the costs of my first movie. Not bothered about profits yet, i just want to get my style noticed, and believe me you will notice.

Nollywood films must shift millions in copies, it will be a shame if the producers never see the money.

Dude! I feel exactly the same, Nollywood is GARBAGE! I must admit it is quite entertaining, but in a cringeworthy way. I hate it soo much.

What really angers me is the way they break filmmaking traditions that are centuries old! Then they come out with "we are telling our own stories the Nigerian way" Shut the fucc up fools!!

The camera was invented by the oyinbo man, filmmaking was perfected by them and taught for all to see, since the 1930s. I am a filmmaker so i can preach. Just 2 weeks into 1st year film school and i could direct a better movie than the whole bunch of Nollywood directors put together. What y'all need to understand is, a film is CONVINCING i.e a robber looks, talks and acts like a robber. A wealthy man looks, talks, dresses and eats like a wealthy man. A school looks like a school, a restaurant, bank, trafiic, a freaking love scene, you name it! Its supposed to look and feel real. You aint supposed to notice the bleeding camera. Have you ever watched a Hollywood film that made you cry?? Why? Afterall you know from the start it was just a movie abi. Guess what, that is the ART of filmmaking, it arouses emotion in you through employing cinematography, acting, sound and music. Yes! Filmaking is ART. Nollywood airhead directors get any camera and push the ON button and start filming. ANNOYING! At least use good actors, those actors and actresses are USELESS. Sorry even Jim Iyke is useless to me, cos he acts in every useless movie alongside useless actors. No standards at all!

I am coming to revolutionise the industry with TOP quality material. This is "New Nollywood", watch this space suckers!

I have the EXACT same problem! I have been married for 3 years and she is EXACTLY the same. Ive been with her for 7 years in total and trust me bruv, she will NEVER change! Ok she changes a bit e.g she stopped hiding under the duvet with the lights off, but that weirdness just transported itself elsewhere.

Let me tell you something, the problems they have are too many to rectify, by the time she becomes the happy, sociable, optimistic, loving, caring, life loving woman you want, you will both be 80yrs old.

Ive lost all hope in mine and i am divorcing. Yes! Abuse me all you want but im gonna give myself one last shot at finding happiness with the right person before i get old and its too late. Some people are born to be saddos and guys like us just want one thing, to be HAPPY. The bad thing here is not in her nature or characteristics, everyone is different. Its the selfishness and the not willing to EXPLAIN why they are the way they are. Jeez i didnt even think there was another woman like my wife out there. I seriously REGRET o!

I am not a fan of separating but why must i be the one to suffer? Afterall im mr nice guy. I believe theres a guy out there for these type of women but i know it aint me, cos why the migraines?? I bet you have these too abi, trying to figure her out and stuff. You'll run yourself mad! I stopped having headaches when i accepted that it's over and i need to get out, a weight was lifted off my shoulders.
