Pls Mod, post to d appropriate section. More than 12 persons killed yesterday in the heart of Awka, Anambra State when a tanker carrying palm kernel oil lost its brakes and rammed into Bus Park on the foot of the pedestrian cross at the popular UNIZIK junction in the town.
Several people who sustained various degrees of injuries were rushed to various hospitals in the Anambra State capital for treatment.
ACCIDENT AT UNIZIK JUNCTION ON ENUGU–ONITSHA EXPRESS WAY IN AWKA.
The tanker, which was coming from the Enugu end of the Enugu –Onitsha expressway, lost control as it was descending the UNIZIK slope and hit a bus loaded with passengers and then dragged the same bus into the very busy motor park where it damaged about seven other buses.
Among those who either lost their lives or sustained injuries were drivers, motor park operators and recharge card sellers.
The tanker, which somersaulted severally as it was hitting other vehicles, had its body cut into pieces and its contents spilled along the road and in the motor park.
The impact of the summersault of the tanker adversely affected the beams of the pedestrian bridge, thus making part of the bridge to lose its alignment.
The accident, which happened at the time offices had closed for the day, caused an excruciating traffic jam on the road as many people stopped at the scene.
Men of the Federal Road Safety Commission, FRSC, the Nigerian Army, the Police and other good spirited people volunteered their vehicles for conveying the wounded persons to the hospital.
A similar accident on the same spot last year claimed five lives, but the difference was that the one of last year did not get to the motor park. May God console their families....So sad!! RIP to the deceased. Source: vanguard

I came across this on my facebook wall and it brought back memories then in my school days. Just wondering if anyone had a feel of it too. It's usually called 'Otoo'(garri) in my school and one of the best easy made meal after lectures but i don't eat it when it's not with enough milk and g.nut though some students/people don't care if there's milk. A friend of mine came 2 me for advice and i will also need 2 hear ur views on the topic. He is a business man and not into social networking but has a facebook/email account alone for business purposes to connect with his associates both home/abroad. He has a girlfriend he intends to get married to soon. She's always frequent with her phone, chatting, pinging and the likes though she kinda gives him attention when he needs it. He got so disturbed cos of her frequent chats and went through her phone with her permission though and he saw several social networking apps such as: bbm, tweeter, whatsapp, smoothie, badoo, facebook, yahoo messenger, eskimi, naija pings etc. He logged in few of the mentioned apps and discovered dat 85percent of her friends are male folks and he was furious. She claims they are just friends. His problem now is, he feels she might be cheating. He wants to delete all those social networking apps on her phone except whatsapp cos it's gotten from her contacts quite understandable 2 him and probably facebook. She obviously refused. He asked me if she could be cheating on him cos of dat and if he should delete the apps against her wish?? Pls, NL ur suggestions wil help. Thanks.

1. A ministry of Northern affairs must be established like the Niger Delta Ministry.
2. Each Boko haram member who embraces the amnesty will receive an initial cash reward of 3 million naira to start up a business.
3. Boko haram members who embrace the amnesty program will be giving a house by the FG
4. Boko haram leaders who embraced the amnesty program will be giving a cash gift of 20 million naira each and other juicy packages will also follow
5. Selected boko haram members from each zone will be taken abroad for training, just as the Niger delta militants enjoyed.
6. Each boko haram member will be on a monthly salary of N100,000 for a period of 3 years.
7. FG must rebuild borno, yobe and other state they claimed the JTF destroyed.
8. Security contract will be given to Boko haram leaders to secure the north.

Considering the recent upheavals in Nigeria, no doubt those perpetrating/sponsoring d destruction of properties n killing of innocent lives are mainly both past n present politicians for their selfish gains + power tussle. Therefore, my main FOCUS will be how 2 'Kill Them All' How? By getting a comprehensive list of past n serving corrupt political leaders, invite them for a crucial G13(fake) Summit. There n then, serve them all with nicely prepared continental dishes garnished with OTAPIAPIA. But my CHALLENGE might be how 2 make sure they all get served but with BASKETMOUTH on d M.I.C, i believe no shaking. As Mr President, if i don't take care of them, who will? #smiles#. Pls moderator, i don't know the right section 2 post this, but find this disturbing and dangerous. On my way 2 Abeokuta this evening on Iyana Ipaja bridge close to d round about , i saw this truck(pix below) right infront of d vehicle i'm in with a punched(torn) tyre yet it's on d road. Pls d appropriate safety agency or "Their OGA at the TOP" should please be active not 2 allow this kind of trucks to be on our roads during the day for safety of lives. Thanks.
