Am not sure, there is any university that does not have CBT, it maybe small. Lautech for example may have just 300 computer for example, those choosing lautech too are quite not much.

Let's now assume Fuoye has no CBT, and like 5000 chose that skul, futa or eksu can accommodate those students.

I just want a situation whereby students won't have issues with their computers which is common with these mushroom CBT jamb centres.

True but as we speak, how many candidate are currently writing their exam at unilorin. Am sure they are up to 100,000. As for the case of favoritism, that can only be reduce to a minimum, it cannot be eliminated.

As for too much candidates. That's more like an illusion. don't forget jamb is expected to last for like 30 days. So 100000/30= 3,333 per day. And if its too much, days should be extended.

I know for certain, CBT in Unilag can accommodate 2000 at a stretch when u combine cits, DLI, FAC of science and fss capacity.

If Unilag has two sessions per day, it means that Unilag can hold utme exam for 4000 candidates in a day.

What about schools that doesn't have CBT center cos im sure such school go exist

Is it possible for jamb to allow student do their CBT exam in soul of their choice. Students who pick Unibadan should be allowed to write their utme at UI same will apply to those who picked Unilag. So there won't be much talk about poor logistics.

Some might say what if the person who wants to apply is staying at Kaduna. My reply will be, during post utme candidates traveled all the way from far distance to write post utme at Ibadan and Lagos.

But think of this, Unilorin that is having like almost 100 thousand candidates, unilag, and other federal schools like that will be bombarded with candidates and it can cause breakdown or even more technical problems.
The schools that have less candidates will complete the exam with ease and in no time, and might even pass more than the ones using schools with much candidates.
In another word, it won't circulate, as in a school would much work more than another and favoritism may enter.
How will they do other choices such as Polytechnics, FCEs and some schools that doesn't have CBT center.

Go for mass communication. It's the exact subject combo... Use English, maths, Crs, economics and Commerce, D7 in Accounting might help in some schools

I don't know why you all are misinterpreting this new policy.....Jamb didn't say the point system will be used, they only made reference to a particular University using that method which only favours those with more A's in their O'level..... The new policy is that no school must carryout another form of screening/test similar to jamb...... students should only be screened by making sure they meet all the requirements by checking their O'level, Jamb result/ Admission letter,etc, after the list of those shortlisted is sent to the institution....And the list of those not admitted should be sent back to jamb and they'll be posted to other institutions preferably the 2nd choice of the candidate

Now if Jamb is not using the Point System as you have said, how will they select qualified candidates and then send them to their first choice institutions for screening? Only Jamb score would be used?

Big up to the minister for making education accessible for all irrespective of ur status having masses interests at heart considering economy plight of this nation ensuring no more extortions by these institutions, milking the populace dry in educating them. This pronouncement, thus repudiated the new modality stakeholders agreed on, meaning admission solely lies with jamb. But the big question is, can jamb live up to expectation making sure lopsidedness is no more in their conducts as regards to yearly worrisome comments by candidates against this body? Only time will tell..

Since the commencement of the CBT, there has been much technical problems that affect candidates which results into complaining or even protest. Now this method of admission JAMB is using is a very welcome method but, what if the problems in CBT continues or can't be addressed, it will now be as "luck" which means it's not how well you prepare that will determine your score but how well the CBT goes.
Then admission won't be for the mighty ones but for the lucky ones.

In the area of O'level, expect much more "miracle centers" as no one would be chasing Cs, even the less brilliant ones.

Sequel to the recent workshop convened by the
honourable minister of education on the modalities for
admissions into tertiary institutions in Nigeria, the
federal government hereby approves the following
guidelines for admissions:

1. presentation of the lists of candidates who qualify
for screening into individual based on the stipulated
guidelines by JAMB (find hereby enclosed);

2. screening should not demand for another test in
any form either written, oral or electronic;

3. candidates are to present their senior school
certificate examination (SSCE) results/Advance Level
(AL) results for verification and clearing purposes;

4. WAEC, NECO, NABTEB results or equivalent are
acceptable as matriculation requirements;

labodinho,ibadanfinest, base on the premise that others released postutme forms so unilag must follow suit does hold water, cos federal universities are the most concerned here, hence they cant circumvent it but to serve as precedence to any university who may or had reneged against this pronouncement. So when NUC is ready for them to be sanctioned, nothing will be their justification. Even though the govt is myopic about the advantages of postutme, extortion and lack of standard questions is prevalent in this exam processes which i see as shame! Tasued just concluded postutme constists of 20 silly questions for 7minutes for close to 10,200 candidates who entered for this test having paid nothing less than seven thousand naira.

1... So what you're saying is that, other universities are doing post utme doesn't mean Unilag too will do and NUC might sanction universities that conduct the test?

2... OAU screening is out, no post utme saith the school. What about the money they will collect from candidates. Cos the money they're collecting is one of the reasons Fed. Govt. want it stopped.

I think the universities should be allowed to conduct the test but at a very CHEAP price.
