No leaks at all, I have used 2 different mechanics to check this. kingreign: Search for leaks around timing chain cover, valve cover, sump, replace PCV valve.
You should get a brand new PCV valve from hondajosh |

It's Honda Accord DC 2006 Much respect boss kingreign: Which car is this,
If you drive a modern Honda, try replacing the PCV valve and checking for leaks around the joints and seals. |

Good morning boss Much respect, As suggested I have started using 20W 50 (first usage) but the oil still shorts now its on the last hole close to the end of the iron and yet no smoke from the exhast pipe. dru23: That car has been abused by the previous owner more than likely using 20w50. It is too thick for the engine, by you reverting to the manufacturer recommended 5w20 is too late ,due to weak oil seal by 20w50...
You have few options here .......
1. Start using 20w50 and observe from there. If you notice blue smoke coming from the tail pipe, the engine is on its last leg...
2. Sell the car and count your losses
3. Go look for a tokunbo engine Grade A if you can find one. And if you do make sure you use the recommended oil 5w20. |

Alright. Thank you. dru23: Your mechanic might be rite. It could be the engine seat. |
Car Talk › Re: Maintenance Tips For Honda Cars by Jaysharp(m): 11:13am On Jun 10, 2025 |
Thanks boss, i really appreciate your suggestions. I was able to get across the previous user, and like you've said 20W 50 has been the oil used in the car. I'll revert back to the oil been used and check from there. Also, there's no smoke from the tail pipe yet as i constantly check it as i drive. Lastly boss, I noticed after driving a while once I step on brake at traffic light, the engine shakes/vibrates, same thing when I climb speed bump and at times this makes the engine shut down. My kazeem said engine seats are bad, and its the culprit. Can this be possible? Cos I'm tired of their trial and error method... Thank boss Much respect. dru23: That car has been abused by the previous owner more than likely using 20w50. Good morning bosses I noticed my car honda DC 2006 shorts oil, I noticed this after the first oil change when the car was bought earlier this year.
I used hardex 5W 20, for the first service after the car was bought, after a while I noticed the oil level reduced, I thought I bought a fake oil, I drain the oil out and used mobil 2000 but the issue still persists.
Is it that the engine select oil? Anyone with solution please help!!!!
Thank you |

Thanks so much.. I really appreciate. Conner44: Follow your mechanic to where they sell the crankshaft for your specific engine. Request to see the available ones. Look very closely at its condition to make sure it isn't already 'half - dead' by doing the following:
Carry it in your hands and observe it's entire surface.if you see any lines/marks, use the very 'tip' of your finger (with fingernails) to gently feel across the surfaces of the lines you see.
If any line/scratch seems to provide a sort of resistance against your fingertip as you scratch across the surface (focus on the areas that actuate the rods) then it's not a good specimen, select another one and do the same checks as above.
After you've seen a good and relatively smooth crankshaft then ask the seller to make sure he only sells it along with its accompanying bolts and braces/guides from the donor engine. He should be able to prove/show you the labeled Bolts and Guides and the exact screw holes they were each removed from on the crankshaft to be purchased. MAKE SURE YOU ARE BUYING IT WITH ITS EXACT BOLTS THAT CAME FROM THE FACTORY IN THE DONOR ENGINE BECAUSE YOUR MECHANIC MUST TRANSPLANT IT INTO YOUR OWN ENGINE IN THE SAME SEQUENCE AND EXACT BOLT/GUIDE LOCATIONS FOR THE JOB TO BE PROPERLY DONE
the bolded above is the number 1 thing to be adamant about while purchasing the replacement crankshaft, making sure it's surfaces are smooth (while feeling with the tip of your fingernails) is secondary Good luck |

Thanks boss much respect. What's your advice on getting it? Conner44: Okay good. Just as I thought. Good news is that you won't need to buy a replacement engine then ONLY if you dot your 'I's' and cross your 'T's' during the selection of your replacement crankshaft
Good luck 🤞 |

Update on this!!! Thanks to everyone for your words. Crankshaft is the culprit of the noise. Jaysharp: Good day everyone, Please who has experience this before, what's the way forward?
I serviced my car last month and last week or so I saw engine oil sign blinking on my dashboard, I managed to drive it home cos I was very close to the house when I saw it. So I call my kazeem and Inform him about it, he said probably I bought a fake oil. That I can top up the oil and use till month end then I can service it again. I was okay with the suggestion cos as at that period i didn't have much with me.
Fast forward to this last weekend, while hustling I started hearing sounds from my car, luckily I was close to riders destination. So I open the hood I heard the sound was from the engine. I switched off the car and checked everything, I found out the oil has dry up again. I had to top up again to go home, now the sound from the engine didn't stop, Kazeem has checked the engine, said its coming from inside the engine that he has to bring down the Engine to know what's causing the sound.
My bosses in the house, any idea with what might be wrong before kazeem open engine and worsen the issue?

Okay, How sure is the other engine not ringed too dav1002: I really hope you've not damaged your engine Hardex is a good oil It it dries up, it means your engine is shorting oil or leaking oil. Now you've started hearing sounds, it means the damage has eaten deep
That engine is cheap Highest 300k plus your old engine counterbalance Do not attempt to ring it |

I hope so too.. The engine is k24 as you've said it, would have stayed with my mobil jeje o Conner44: If it's caused by the engine oil being fake as your mech said then I pray it isn't your crankshaft that has chop (metal) . Valve train noise should be easy for any mech to diagnose.
Please stay away from hardex if you're using Honda k24 engines, their chemistry (even the original ones) don't play nice |

The light blink again after topping the oil, even till i started hearing the sound the oil sign didnt blink on the dashboard. My mistake was that i didnt check cos i rushed out and i assume i just top up. I didnt even take note. I'm still surprise how it dried up so fast. The noise can be describe ooo, if i try to accelerate it becomes louder lexylexy: Wow! Sorry about this. But some questions here. Did the light blinking continue after you topped the oil? Did you check the oil level that morning before going out? How often do you top up? How come the oil dried up so fast?
What kind of noise is it making? |
Business › Re: If You Are Uber Partner In Lagos, Please Share Your Experience Here by Jaysharp(m): 5:04pm On May 27, 2025 |
He said the oil dry up because its fake. It was short when we check the oil guage Olayetan: haa, this your own kazeem na real quack o, you told him engine oil light was blinking and he told you the reason is because of fake oil.
Chai, once you see engine oil light comes on and off, you're not supposed to even drive the car at all, that's oil pump issue and your kazeem has successfully damaged your engine. |
