Wait, so the foreign airlines sold tickets at rate of <460.
You trapped their funds for years.
And now you're asking them to repatriate at rate of 1400-1600.

Cardoso is unwell.

-Lord

Foreign Airlines do not sell tickets at the CBN exchange rate, they always sell at the black market rate of over #700 during the Buhari era.
Emirate want to 419 the country, You sell tickets to Nigerians at a black market rate, and it is time to repatriate your money, you want CBN to give you dollars at the official rate of #460, as against #750 which you charge Nigerians for ticket.
since they charge at a black market rate, they should return to that black market and get their dollar to repatriate.
they want to make FX gain at the expense of the masses and economy.

Now both the black market and officiate rates are above #1300, to get their money in dollars, they will lose x2, this is where greed leads them.

what are you saying , do you know the loan on this Refinery needs to be repaid ? It’s not a charity business .
Even any attempt to bring it down beyond competitive pricing( which can be achievable when other players step in , right now he is the only player )will lead to smuggling of products to neighboring countries

First of all, ask yourself, will Dangote refinery pay all the charges listed.
NAVY, NPA, NIMASA, NPA.
This are government institutions who charge for services rendered at the port, and the charges are factored in as part of the landing cost of fuel per litre.

The refinery has a loan to pay, we all know, the loan is not to be paid in one or two year.
I still believe the price of fuel from Dangote refinery will drive down the pump price of fuel at the retail station.
Any marketers sourcing for fuel to import will be forced to do that at a competitive price else they ran into debt, or they stock up and keep, then sell only if dangote refinery run out of stock.
Business / Re: Marketers Await Dangote Petroleum Product Price List by jcflex(m): 8:29pm On Jan 13
PMS might btw 400 and 500
AGO might be arnd 700.

When you remove the cost of transporting crude to refinery out the country, also the cost of bringing in refine products into the country.
Vessel chartering to and fro

Trucks will load directly from the refinery tank farm.
Some charges are automatically eliminated.
NPA and NIMASA charges
NAVY and Custom charges
By the time all this are removed.
Definitely the price of PMS, AGO etc shld come down.

Except if the greed of Dangote cement will continue with the refinery.

Why are people this wicked?

You sold adultrated fuel to an airline, so that passengers will die form crash, all in the name of profit making.

Those that sold the fuel, should be arrested and thrown in kuje prison

They are the architect of their problem, always looking for cheap fuel to buy, thereby overlooking the standard fuel marketer who takes the quality of their fuel seriously. most local airlines have crook fuel vendor who does not own a depot, instead transfer fuel from road tanker straight to bowser, with no QC, they sell at a cheaper price to the airlines because they have no depot to maintain, nor do they have staffs to pay, they have no licenses from NMDPR.
They should face the consequences of their decision.

Nairaland / General / Lagos Declares Zero Tolerance For Street Trading by jcflex(m): 6:37am On Jul 06, 2023
The Lagos State Government, on Wednesday, read the riot act to street traders in the state, especially on the Third Mainland Bridge and Eko Bridge.

The Permanent Secretary, Office of Environmental Services, Gaji Omobolaji, in a statement, declared zero tolerance for street trading in the areas.

Omobolaji stressed that the action was in line with the T.H.E.M.E.S. Agenda of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu to promote a cleaner and more aesthetic environment, ensure total enforcement of the environmental sanitation laws and create a safer state for all.

The Omobolaji warned that anyone apprehended would be made to face prosecution at the established Mobile Courts in line with the state environmental laws, in addition to having the wares they hawk and display on major roads confiscated.

“The latest enforcement drive against street traders, when commenced, would be a continuous one that would also be sustained,” the statement added.

He noted that Lagos, a megacity that is developing into a smart city, had no place for street traders who not only constituted an eyesore to the aesthetics of the city and exposed themselves to hazardous situations but also constituted a threat to the security of lives and property.

He added that the governor had given a nod to the enforcement which would be carried out by a special task force of the Kick Against Indiscipline in collaboration with other security agencies.

Price of AGO has been on the downward trend bfor subsidy removal.

Government is not manipulate anything.
Get your fact right.
As op said, there is glut, which also make the price to fall the more, even with the introduction of 7.5% tax on AGO, the price is still arnd ₦650 per litre as at now.

This is false.
Price of AGO has been on the downward trend bfor the removal of subsidy on PMS. AGO was arnd 660/670 at the retail station bfor May 29th.

Russia needs all the money they can get at this point in time to keep their economic afloat, they are selling cheaper which make price of AGO to fall at the international market.

Why do we have banks all arnd us. You want to create another round tripping.

grandstar:
Very good.

I had predicted the Naira's true value would be between 600-700.

Anyway, I feel the CBN must reduce the Form M red tape. The CBN should also resume sale of Dollars to the BDC. This would bring down the differential between the official and black market rate. It would be excellent if the differential can be reduced to a 2 or 3% band at most.

Politics / Atiku, Obi Contest States Won By Each Other At Tribunal by jcflex(m): 7:46am On Jun 04, 2023
Atiku, according to the results declared by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), came first in Katsina, Adamawa, Taraba, Osun, Kaduna, Gombe, Yobe, Bauchi, Akwa Ibom and Bayelsa.

But Obi is now contesting the votes in the aforementioned states.

Although Obi and his party had indicated in their petition before the Presidential Election Petition Court (PEPC) that they planned to contest results from 21 states, their lawyer, Emeka Okpoko (SAN), told the court on June 1 that the petitioners would now contest results only in 18 states.

Already, Obi and the LP have tendered certified true copies (CTCs) of election results from Osun, Adamawa, Bayesa and Akwa Ibom before the PEPC.

On June 1, Obi and his party tendered the results from Osun while they tendered results from Adamawa, Bayesa and Akwa Ibom states on June 2.

Obi and the LP are also contesting results in some of the states they won, claiming that their votes were suppressed.

The states include Lagos, Imo, Edo Plateau and Cross River states.

On his part, Atiku and the PDP are contesting the results of the election in all states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

Obi and his party won in the FCT and 11 states – Lagos, Cross River, Delta, Edo, Plateau, Imo, Ebonyi, Nasarawa, Anambra, Abia and Ebonyi.

While Atiku and his party have tendered CTCs of results from the states before the PEPC, they have so far led oral evidence (call witnesses) in respect of Abia and Ebonyi States.

On June 1, Atiku and the PDP called the party’s State Collation Officer for Abia State during the election, Uzoma Nkem Abonta, who claimed among others, that the election was marred by a catalogue of malpractices.

Atiku and his party also invited PDO’s State Collation Officer for Ebonyi State, Silas Joseph Onu, on June 2. He claimed that the presidential election in the state was marred by malpractices.

Atiku and the PDP claimed, in their petition, that “the purported results from 19,702 polling units across 36 states and Federal Capital Territory contain various forms of infractions.”

Both of them want to be declared winner of the election.

You guys keep saying minimum wage is 30k.
In April FG increase the salary of civil servants by 40%, in anticipation of subsidy removal.
Not just that, FG said the 40% increment start from January 2023, and the backlog from Jan to March was paid as well.

Why are the civil servant not here complaining?
Just a month after, everyone don forget say FG don increase Civil servant salary.
Private companies have no choice than to follow same path.

Fuckingmallam45:
In as much as I rigorously campaigned for Tinubu. About the remover of fuel subsidy, I don't support it. Of course, Subsidy removal in actual sense is good and would encourage open or competitive market. But what are the things that have been put in place, for the betterment of the people? the minimum wages is 30,000#, how can a common man cope with such a salary? Some people are earning 15,000# as salaries, inside they are going to transport, feed and so on, how can they cope? What are the alternative?, did you put the masses in consideration before making the decisions?
As a leader, the people should be your utmost priority, before any other things.
Crime / Stringent Bail Condition To Whistleblower, who Expose Organ Trafficking Syndicate by jcflex(m): 5:40am On May 18, 2023
Emeh is the whistleblower who exposed an organ trafficking ring within the Anambra State police command.

Justice F. O. Riman of the Federal High Court sitting in Awka, Anambra State has fixed May 24, 25, 30 and 31, 2023, for accelerated hearing on 12 counts brought against Nnamdi Emeh by the Nigeria police.

Emeh is the whistleblower who exposed an organ trafficking ring within the Anambra State police command.

SaharaReporters earlier on Wednesday reported that the court granted the whistleblower bail and that while he was yet to meet the stringent bail conditions, the police already had plans to re-arrest him on the court premises.

It had been reported that the police on May 12, 2023, arraigned Emeh before a Federal High Court in Awka on 12 counts, accusing him of committing crimes that violated several regulations and laws.

After the charge was read, Emeh, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges.

His lawyer, Mr Justus Ijeoma Esq, moved the bail application already filed for him while the police filed a counter-affidavit in opposition to his bail application.

The judge subsequently reserved the ruling on the bail application to Tuesday, May 16 and remanded him in the custody of the Federal Correction Centre, Awka.

However, when the bail hearing came up on Wednesday, the trial court admitted Emeh to stringent bail conditions.

Ruling on the application for his bail in charge No: FHC/AWK/C/60/2023 between Inspector General of Police and Emeh Nnamdi Daniel, the court held, "Defendant admitted to bail in the sum of N50 million with two sureties in like sum.

"Sureties to have landed property within jurisdiction and evidence of payment of 3 years tax.

"To deposit his International passport with the Crt DCR and get it back on application when the need arises."

The court, however, adjourned to May 24, 25, 30 and 31, 2023 for accelerated hearing.

SaharaReporters had reported that Emeh, who has been in police custody for weeks, was on April 2, 2023, transferred from the Force Headquarters in Abuja to the State Criminal Investigation Department (CID) in Awka.

His transfer to the state came despite public outcry as to why he would be transferred from the Force Headquarters in Abuja to the Anambra State Command of the Nigeria Police, where most of its senior officers were named in the gory details of the atrocities happening at the Special Anti-Robbery Squad unit, Awkuzu.

It had been reported that the police alleged in court documents that Emeh was arrested for malicious publications against the police and for electronically hacking into the bank account of a suspect under investigation.

The prosecuting team also accused Emeh of transferring a large sum of money into his bank account from the suspect’s account.

The police pleaded with the court to deny Emeh's bail application, arguing that he will jump bail if he is released from police custody.

Politics / PDP National Chairman Iyorchia Ayu Suspended by jcflex(m): 6:27pm On Mar 26, 2023
The Executive Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Igyorov Ward of Gboko Local Government Area of Benue State has suspended the National Chairman of the party, Iyorchia Ayu, with immediate effect.

They suspended Ayu for anti-party activities after passing a vote of no confidence on him.

While reading a resolution, the secretary of the party in Igyorov ward, Banger Dooyum, said Ayu’s anti-party activities – alongside his allies – contributed to PDP’s loss in his ward and local government in the governorship election.

Ayu is also accused of not paying his annual dues as enshrined by the party’s constitution. Twelve out of the seventeen exco members signed the documents endorsing his suspension.

They also alleged that the PDP chieftain did not vote during the
governorship and state assembly elections held on the 18th of March, 2023.

According to them, most of Ayu’s closest allies worked for the
opposition All Progressive Congress (APC) which resulted in the abysmal performance of the PDP in Igyorov Ward.

The ward chairman of Igyorov, Kashi Philip, also signed the letter alongside the exco.
