BusinessDo Not Read: 10 Ways Not To Build Wealth By Fife Banks by Jeenager(op): 3:01am On Sep 16, 2015
Do you know there are things we already know that aren't necessary? And I agree with those who posit that “true education is about learning and un-learning” But how also true, that there are many with several degrees who continue to seriously decrease?! Seriously, surplus study can sometimes lead to superfluous knowledge and while knowledge can impress people [I definitely get paid for knowledge so don’t get it twisted), it can also bore them. Anyway, I digress because the focus of this post is not about knowledge but about the unnecessary knowledge on your way to building your own [brave] wealth.
Our world, especially the media and this ever-expanding internet space, is filled with smutty junks that should never find their way into your subconscious, braveheart. Guard your fine heart! I'm happy to help you. So, what did I do to help you guard your precious, wealth-building heart? I only tried to compile a list of what I think, 10 things, you don’t need to know on your way to building wealth (you get to decide anyway) but at least, see my list below and you can add yours in the comment:

Is Caitlyn a man's name or is Bruce a woman?. [For what?!@*$&]
The number of Lionel Messi’s offside goals. [Who cares?!!!!...maybe C. Ronaldo die-hard fans. Lol]
The last 3 lovers of Mercy Johnson [Like seriously?]
The bra size of Kim Kardashian [Do you know your partner’s dimension off hand?]
Recognizing car models from their engine noise [You need a career at Ladipo!]
Something-Cola ingredients [Even the CEO doesn’t care…sugar, cola and water is not a secret, it’s just branding!]
Akpos real names [Hmmmmmnnn…he can’t even spell it]
Linda Ikeji’s treats [Isn’t it better to learn about her online money-making strategies?]
Jesus Christ’s middle name [What have you achieved with the first and last names?]
21st Century Politicians’ Manifesto [The more you hear, the less you understand….hehehehe]
[center][/center]
Now, you're already thinking about the list.

Let me tell you a story:

A professor once told a class 'you cannot pass my test'.

The class wrote the test and all failed except one boy that wasn't present when the professor told them 'you cannot pass my test'. Since the boy didn't have the knowledge of that statement, it didn't stop him from becoming a success.

Agreed, there are many things you do not know and maybe you don't need them. It isn't what we do not know that stops us, it's what we know (and have) but don't know how to use.

In building bravewealth, we must guard our mind diligently because that’s the power-house to create the wealth and you’ve got to create first before we even start thinking and talking about savings, investments, philanthropy and whatever.

Money is first made in the mind, braveheart.
Now, that you have an idea of what you don't need to know, watch out for my post on Everything You Need To Know When Building [Brave] Wealth.

By the way, hope you learnt something in this post? Please share with me and other Bravehearts…even if it’s something that was funny to you in the list or you want to add your own?

I'm always excited to read from you.

I love you forever and I believe in you.

Career6 Questions To Answer Before You Fire Your Boss By Fife Banks by Jeenager(op): 2:43am On Sep 16, 2015
What is worth doing for money is worth doing well and whatever is worth doing at all, is worth doing gladly. If you can’t do something, you have to work at it. Believe me, if you are learning and earning and progressing and achieving your vision as well as the organization’s vision, you have hit the jackpot!

Many Nigerians are unhappy in their jobs and during my local travels, I recognize that job dissatisfaction is not just a Lagos thing…it is a global thing actually. You know, people get jobs for different reasons, chief of which is monetary. In fact, when you hear the reasons behind some people’s decisions to take on the job they currently have and what they have to go through on a daily basis to keep the job, you will shake your head, laugh, cry and cry some more.

Well, it is not really a crying matter if you are the one not happy with your job, you’ve got to do something about it. At least, you have to first recognize the causes and degree of your unhappiness about the job. Many people will want to know that but how can job dissatisfaction really be measured?

Anyways, I have a few tips here for you. I have 6 [plus 1] questions for you actually. Try to explore them. The questions we ask, most times, determine the answers we get. 6 + 1 brave questions to know whether you should stay longer or leave earlier:

Every evening (when you get home and you are refreshed, this is not a task to be performed in Lagos traffic) for the next two weeks, ask yourself the following 3 questions and create a scale of 1 to 10, where 1 means ‘doesn’t apply at all’ and 10 means ‘totally applies’ and grade yourself accordingly. You can simply use a table in Microsoft Word to record your observations. [The questions are suitable for the employed and the self-employed].

Maybe you should change department or maybe you should change role? Maybe. Let the following 6 + 1 questions help you make a quality decision.

Jobs/VacanciesHow To Use Linkedin To Get Your Dream Job By Fife Banks by Jeenager(op): 2:29am On Sep 16, 2015
I know when most young Nigerians read anything about LinkedIn, there are many questions popping in their head already: How to use LinkedIn to get a job? Can I use LinkedIn to write a good cover letter? Are the latest jobs in Nigeria listed on LinkedIn? How about graduate trainee jobs to be specific? Would I get CV examples to download from the platform? Is it a place for online personal branding? Can someone actually make money online using LinkedIn? And the questions continue…

Last week, I got this question from a Braveheart:
"Dear Coach, how do I optimize LinkedIn and profit from it. I am proficient, let me just say above-average with other social networks but I can't seem to get my LinkedIn membership off the ground. Any advice on how I can look good on LinkedIn, maybe even make some money from the platform? Thank you coach."
M.I

Maybe M.I is speaking your mind? Well, relax Braveheart, you can most definitely profit on LinkedIn even if you are not a job seeker. In fact, when I got this question, I promised myself that this post will be a funtastic way to learn about making money online -on LinkedIn? Not actually, but about a global professional ‘profits’ issue which some people would have taught , frowning. I am actually smiling writing this important piece because I want you to really profit on one of the least understood social network services out there. I have a feeling you’re smart enough to figure it out yourself, especially after reading this post from a pro LinkedIn user –me of course! Especially since I read my LinkedIn notifications almost every morning.

Did you know there are basically 2+1 broad ways to profit on LinkedIn? Actually there are more than 2+1 ways to profit from LinkedIn and you might have figured them out depending on how long you’ve been on the platform and how LinkedIn-savvy you are. Every social network seems to have its methods, means and manners. I love social networks and as a certified New Media Strategist, I help clients to optimize their time and other resources on them. It's not about how many social networks you're on [since they keep rolling them out monthly?] Anyway, in this post I will tell you about the two, and then about the one but let’s even start with this basic question: are you linked…in?

You don’t have to answer that simple [no tricks] question but at least you’re now able to correctly pronounce the portmanteau word of the social network service called ‘LinkedIn’ and if your answer is YES, do you know how to optimize your being on the platform?

However, if your answer is NO, it’s high time you considered ‘joining’ the world’s most populous social network for professionals which has since become some sort of a melting pot for job seekers, employers as well as a spectrum of business people and is adding 2 new user per second!

See, it’s all happening ‘live’ on LinkedIn: job opportunities, actual recruitment, public endorsement, personal/professional development and business deals…maybe even political appointment! And you don't even have to subscribe to the Sales Navigator or become a paid LinkedIn member. Well, the point to be well taken is that, professionals are connecting with professionals in a professional manner on LinkedIn and this is one global platform you can leverage to transfigure your personal brand online. I think I have been using LinkedIn since 2008 and in these few years, I have profited immensely from the platform and I’ve not even started. One of my exclusive groups: Brand Management Professionals International now has over 20, 000 brand professionals and executives from literally all over the world.

So, how do you profit on LinkedIn? By looking good, that’s one major way for sure and it’s got nothing to do with your restored picture even though your professionally-taken portrait may be the single most important factor for how much you profit and if you even profit at all on this professional platform. So, get your profile picture 'sorted'. However, before I delve into 6 ways you can most definitely ‘look good’ on LinkedIn, let me first tell you about the 2+1 ways you can profit on LinkedIn. Show me the money, right? I’ll show you the rewards instead, the profits.

Number 1 Way To Profit on LinkedIn

Undoubtedly, the number 1 way most people on LinkedIn will profit is about: Career Advancement especially in the area of ‘greener pastures’, sorry, new and better jobs. However, with global unemployment rate escalating daily, you need not only be smarter but also ‘look smarter’ than others on the social platform that will, in most cases, initially present you and your professional achievements to prospective employers or their assigned Headhunters [which is an informal name for an employment recruiter] who are busy NOT Headhunting [which is the practice of literally taking a person’s head after killing them!] I, too, have often wondered why they call those executive searchers headhunters. Haha. Personally, I have been headhunted severally on LinkedIn [I still have my handsome head though] and often times I found out that the primary attraction for the prospective employer was a combination of these ‘Looking good on LinkedIn’ [LGOL] factors I share with you below. On getting a job on LinkedIn, here's one little secret first: Make it Easy to Forward Your Info: Include a link to a PDF of your resume (you can use Google Docs or any similar service to do this) in the body of your message so that your contacts can easily forward it on. Make sure that resume has all your contact info as well. Many headhunters don’t have the luxury of time to go back and forth with you to get your resume as an attachment—it’s much easier when it’s all in one, easily 'forwardable' place.

[Confession and Disclaimer: I also sometimes headhunt for client organizations but I am not involved in headhunting ooo. Hehehehe]

LinkedIn provides the platform for any professional at any level: entry-level, officer, executive, management cadre, executive management and even C-level executives to find new employment opportunities. You can search advertised/listed job openings and you may even add the job advertiser [most times the headhunter] as a friend professional contact. Guess what? As you’re searching for employment, it is very possible that employers are also directly or indirectly searching you out. See why you must look good? Read on to find out how.
I know you may not be looking for a job, so how else do you profit from LinkedIn?

Do you know that the popular Candy Crush (created by ) grosses a whopping $2.5Million daily for the company and platforms (Facebook, Apple Store, OVI Store and Google Play Store) and the company that created the game has just been listed on the New York Stock Exchange? In fact, Smart Media Technologies report claimed that 50% of internet users go online to play games! Don’t just act surprised, be surprised but also be aware of the immense opportunity in a sector like this where fun leads to fortune fundamentally through in-game purchases and in-game adverts. The questions to ask here is: how can I cash in on this incredible opportunity by owing and giving out games to as many people as possible? Once again, the answer is already existing.

I will show you the money but you have to trust that with my expertise and experience, I have your best interest at heart and I am willing to coach you to hit a home-run. From a research conducted by US-based Smart Media Technologies, an internet-oriented company founded by David Martin [He made his fortune developing banking security software with his elite programming team] with a vision to become the first (and maybe only) Fortune 100 company that will share its revenue with users globally, the following findings were made about the four highest revenue-generating aspects of the internet:

BusinessSocial Media That Pays You! by Jeenager(op):
In 2003, there was nothing called Facebook, LinkedIn or Twitter. In fact, Facebook debuted on Wednesday, February 4th, 2004. Fast forward ten years later, Facebook and all its founders are now billionaires. The world has changed and is changing exponentially and the future is better than you think.

However to make progress individually or even as a business, we need to ask the right questions. One of such right questions will be: what is the greatest trend in our world right now? And the right answer will be, you guessed right, the internet! But a step in the right direction, though admirable, will not get us to the right destination. We need an accumulation of steps in the right direction. So we must move on to asking other right questions having identified that the internet is the new goldmine!

The next right question may be: where exactly on this vast field of global inter-connections can we find actual gold? Another way to ask this gold-digging question would be: what aspects of the internet generate the most return on investment or even the most revenue? Where is the action…show me the money!!!

I will show you the money but you have to trust that with my expertise and experience, I have your best interest at heart and I am willing to coach you to hit a home-run. 1. Social Networks
2. Online Games
3. Online Shopping
4. Advertising

Social Networks
The likes of Facebook, LinkedIn, GooglePlus etc. have made, and are still making a fortune from social networks, selling users’ social graphs to advertisers and data-miners. Ello, a recently launched, invite-only social network site is championing the campaign against Facebook’s and other social networks modus operandi: selling users’ social graphs to advertisers. Ello hopes to be sustainable without selling users’ data to advertisers. We’ll see how that goes. But the real issue here is: Social Networks is one of the highest revenue-generating aspects of the internet with Facebook US$7.87Billion revenue and 1Billion+ users, Twitter US$664 million REVENUE and 500Million+ users, LinkedIn $1.52 billion revenue and 184Mmillion+users. The question to ask here is: if I am being paid a cent for every action my social network contacts (friends, followers, family and foes) perform online, how much would I be worth right now? The answer is already available.
Online Games
Do you know that the popular Candy Crush (created by ) grosses a whopping $2.5Million daily for the company and platforms (Facebook, Apple Store, OVI Store and Google Play Store) and the company that created the game has just been listed on the New York Stock Exchange? In fact, Smart Media Technologies report claimed that 50% of internet users go online to play games! The questions to ask here is: how can I cash in on this incredible opportunity by owing and giving out games to as many people as possible? Once again, the answer is already existing.

Online Shopping
If you think Jumia and Konga are not making money, ask the founders. What about IrokoTV, Hotels.ng Mymusic.com.ng etc. While you may be right in your argument that the money being made online in Nigeria is child’s play compared to what the Amazons, Ebays, Alibabas etc. of this world have, and are making, you should know that though Rome was not built in a day, it was built at the end of the day! The total projected value of online sales by 2017 is US$370Billion and US$440Billion. The (creation) and exchange of value has moved out of bricks and mortars and is now resident online. Even banks are now trying to play catch up with internet-based and mobile financial solutions like Paypal, who are daily snatching customers from the death-grip of traditional banking solutions. The question here is obvious: if so much money is being exchanged online, how, where, when and what do I need to do to make my own? The answer, as usual, is accessible.

Advertising

I doubt is any other industry have experienced radical transformation, brought about by the internet, like the advertising (and its dependent) industry. The entire Google empire is built on advertising or to put it in perspective, 85% of Google’s income comes from advertising and Google is the most capitalized company in the world! It’s no joke that Google can pay for (buy) some African countries put together. Online advertising is undoubtedly the ‘core’ of our internet goldmine. This is where you’ll find not only gold but also diamond, uranium, palladium, plutonium and all those other metals that gold respect.
