Manchester City have denied claims that an agreement was already in place for the Bayern boss to take over from Manuel Pellegrini at the club,as there were claims in the Middle East that Guardiola was on his way to City after a verbal agreement was reached.

"I have been lucky enough to play with some great players. I enjoy the players I'm playing with today, but I can’t say if it’s the best front three. We understand each other well on and off the pitch, but I have had great team-mates alongside me in attack in other forward lines as I have today.

"When you have players of the characteristics of Neymar and Luis, that makes things a lot easier. We have a good relationship on and off the pitch. Luis adapted really quickly to the dressing room and that has helped things work out well for us."

Messi further went on to stress that he does not have any problems with Luis Enrique after falling out with the club's head coach earlier this season.

He had a heated argument with the 44-year-old during a training session at the start of 2015 and was then benched for the Liga match against Real Sociedad. Their relationship consequently seemed to be beyond repair, but the prolific attacker has stressed the situation has been resolved.

Glenn Hoddle (former England coach) has slammed David Luiz after his display in last night's game against Barcelona, likening the Brazilian to “an 8-year-old who hasn’t been coached.”

Though David Luiz played as a substitute,he was nutmegged twice by Luis Suarez who scored 2 goals to put Barcelona up late in the game.

Hoddle claimed the €50 million signing from Chelsea should have done much better regardless of the fact he was not fully fit going into the game.
“Even if you’re not 100 per cent fit you can’t show that lack of intent,he is the last man on the pitch when Suarez picks up the ball and starts running at him. He realises he is the last man and the very last thing you should do when you’re the last man is jump in. You bide time for your team to get around you".

“Instead he does what an 8-year-old who hasn’t been coached does: he tries to win it by putting both of his feet together. But when he does that he can’t move anywhere. Suarez nutmegs him again.”

David was his club’s hero in the previous round, heading the extra-time equaliser which made them qualify for the quarter-finals at Chelsea’s expense but his form defensively has been questioned on many occasions, and Hoddle added that he has never been convinced by David Luiz.

“For me he is a liability at the back, and he always has been. You have to find a place for him in midfield or even at right-back,” he continued.
“He’s a footballer who likes to play in the playground when there is no shape to the game. He is a talent but that’s not what top football is about.”

Lionel Messi has missed four penalties for both club and country this season,and he has admitted he is deeply frustrated with his success rate from penalties this season .

He says he is still the No.1 spot-kick taker for Barcelona but concedes he must improve his record, especially given that goalkeepers are beginning to do their homework on his tactics from 12 yards (at this point i think Leo must be a smart one)

Getafe's Pablo Sarabia has in an interview revealed Cristiano Ronaldo's secret to success and why he thinks Cristiano Ronaldo is better than Lionel Messi.

Having faced both men in La Liga on more than one occasion, he also played alongside the Portugal captain having been part of the Real Madrid set-up until 2011.

On Lionel Messi he said :
"Yes it is true that Leo is supernatural, because he has pure skill, from another planet.

But on Cristiano he said

Manchester United winger Ashley Young has claimed that Yaya Toure failed to do his job in marking Marouane Fellaini during Sunday's derby.

Young also admitted that Fellaini is difficult to play against,but he felt Yaya Toure did not do enough to challenge him.

"Fellaini has been brilliant, "Everyone will say the same,since he’s come into the team, he’s been fantastic.

"I’ve said before that very few people can handle him. On his day, he’s unplayable. I don’t think Yaya Toure wanted to be tracking back, he wanted to be at the other end of the pitch but he had that job to do on Fellaini.

"When Fellaini is in the box and you can find him, you’ve definitely got a chance of scoring.

"I saw him at the back post and hoped he’d get on the end of it and score and, thankfully, he managed to do that."

Inter Milan have made Yaya Toure their number 1 transfer target and are ready to give him a 5-year contract worth over £10million a season in a bid to lure him away from Man City

Meanwhile Toure is on around £210,000-a-week at Man City and has 2 years left on his contract - but the Italian giants are prepared to offer him an incredible deal worth a staggering £54million in total.

City boss Manuel Pellegrini has already insisted publicly they want to keep midfield powerhouse Toure, but they have yet to offer the Ivory Coast international an extension.

It could mean Inter's interest - with City also likely to ask for a big transfer fee - is difficult to resist.
Inter coach Roberto Mancini, who signed Toure for the Blues from Barcelona for £24m in 2010 and made him a key figure in their 2012-13 title-winning side, has made no secret of his desire to reunite with the powerful star.

Premier League club Hull City have confirmed that they have informed the Football Association of their latest bid to change the club’s name to Hull Tigers.

They had until Wednesday evening to lodge their new application after it was rejected by the FA council last year.
An arbitration tribunal ruled the name should remain Hull City for the time being but that the council’s decision be set aside because of the involvement of the Football Supporters’ Federation chairman, Malcolm Clarke, on the sub-committee that recommended the name change be rejected.

Now the club’s owner, Assem Allam, has formally appealed against the decision and is understood to be hoping to have the new name introduced in time for the start of next season.

“As I’ve said repeatedly, the owner knew weeks ago that he had the right to challenge the appeal and he wanted to just go quiet on it,” said the Hull manager, Steve Bruce.

“There’s no disputing his views have not changed. That’s the kind of man he is so we have to respect those views. For what he has done for the club – and I say this repeatedly – he’s put it on the map a little bit and he’s put his hard earned money so he’s entitled to have his opinion.

“Now you are going to get some, and we’re all traditionalists, that will be opposed to it but hopefully there is a middle ground where everybody can find a solution. I think at the moment we put it to one side and make sure that Hull City/Hull Tigers are going to be in the Premier League next year and we can have that debate in the summer.”

Brighton and Hove Albion has become the 1st English Championship club to provide training and counselling to all its young male and female players in the law and ethics surrounding sexual consent.
This is because in 2013, 4 of the club's players were cleared of sexual assault charges at the Old Bailey.
They were all found not guilty of sexually assaulting a 19-year-old woman at a hotel in Brighton.

The Protect, Inform and Prevent (PIP) programme aims to explain when, in law, consent can be said to have been given.
