Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola has forgiven and welcomed Yaya Toure back to the squad after the he apologised to the club on Friday. Guardiola stated that he had a private conversation with the former African footballer of the Year winner after his action and described it as a good development for the club. "I spoke with Yaya today (Friday), of course it' s a private conversation. It was good for Manchester City," the former Bayern Munich coach told reporters ahead of Saturday's home clash against Middlesbrough. "Yaya is in all our meetings and all our training sessions. I spoke with him and it's good, that's all. Now we are on the game against Middlesbrough. "I answered about Yaya. I don't want to answer any more. Yaya Toure has finally apologised to Manchester City over his agent's criticism of the club's boss, Pep Guardiola. Toure has been exiled from the City squad since August after his representative Dimitri Seluk claimed Guardiola had "humiliated" the midfielder by leaving him out of City's Champions League squad. His apology: "I wish to apologise - on behalf of myself and those who represent me - to the management team and all those working at the club for the misunderstandings from the past. "Those statements do not represent my views on the club or the people who work there. "I have nothing but respect for Manchester City and only wish the best for the football club. "I am immensely proud to have played a part in the club's history and want to help City succeed further. I live to play football and entertain the fans. "On that note, I would like to thank all of the fans for their messages through this difficult period. This means a great deal to me and my family." Humility at it's peak!!! http://www.jizuluvssports..com

Oduduru, the man who represented Nigeria in the men's 200 metres at the Rio Olympics 2016 was bested by Usain Bolts by just 6 seconds. Bolt had no choice but to hug him. Congratulations to Nigeria.

Portugal just showed they are not just Ronaldo + 10 men.
Ronaldo's absence from the pitch was just what they needed to win tonight. |

According to the Federation of International Football Association,Nigeria remain in Pot Two for Friday’s African World Cup qualifiers draw. (In a sudden turn of events, the body via a press release on Wednesday night decided to invalidate a previously announced “special” ranking which demoted the Super Eagles to Pot Three and placed Egypt in Pot One). The seeded teams and the four pots for the draw were defined by the decision of the Emergency Bureau for the Fifa World Cup qualifiers of 22 June 2016 composed of Sheik Salman Ibrahim Al Khalifa, Alejandro Dominguez and David Chung. Fifa also reeled out the procedure for a hitch free draw ceremony billed for Cairo. “The teams in Pot 4 will be drawn first. The team drawn first from Pot 4 will be placed in Group A, and its exact position in the group will be determined by a ball drawn from a second pot that will contain four balls with the position numbers 1-4,” it stated.” “The team drawn second from Pot 4 will be placed in Group B, and its position in the group will also be determined by a ball drawn from the second pot". "The team drawn third will be placed in Group C, and its position drawn from the second pot". "The team drawn fourth will be placed in Group D, and its position drawn from the second pot. Finally, the team in the last ball in Pot 4 will be placed in Group E, and its position will again be drawn from the second pot". “This very same procedure will then be applied for Pot 3, then for Pot 2, and finally for Pot 1. When the last ball containing the name of the final team in Pot 1 has been drawn and its position in Group E has been confirmed by drawing the last remaining ball in the second pot, the draw will be concluded.” Having missed out of the 2017 Africa Cup of Nation, Nigeria would be hoping to secure one of the five spots for the 2018 Fifa World Cup billed for Russia. POTS IN FULL Pot 1: Algeria, Côte d’Ivoire, Ghana, Senegal, Tunisia Pot 2: Cape Verde Islands, Egypt, Congo DR, Nigeria, Mali Pot 3: Cameroon, Morocco, Guinea, South Africa, Congo Pot 4: Uganda, Burkina Faso, Zambia, Gabon, Libya source : http://www.jizuluvssports..com |
Late ex Super Eagles Coach, Stephen Okechukwu Keshi is set to be buried soon but the place he is to be buried is now the bone of contention. The Onyeogu Family Union Ukpologwu Illah, Delta State stated, in categorical terms, that the remains of late former national team coach will be buried at his ancestral home in Illah. According to Vanguard, the union, in a terse letter to the family of late wife of Stephen Keshi, the Aburime Family, frowned at suggestions that the former Hawks of Togo coach be buried in Benin. In the letter the Union said ; "The issue that has caused us much anxiety is the proposal by the Aburime Family that they wish their in-law, our son, to be buried in Benin. "As it is in Delta State, Edo State including the Ewu Kingdom and indeed Nigeria, most men are buried in their hometown on their demise. "We wish to reiterate our demand as earlier stated at the meeting of 17th June, that our son Steven Okechukwu Keshi be buried at his house in his hometown Ogbe Onyeogu Ukpologwu Illah in line with his last wish before his demise. And this we must state is in conformity with Illah tradition, the Ewu tradition and the Chieftaincy institution which he willingly subscribed to during his lifetime,” the Ogbe Onyeogu family stated. "We believe that an issue of this nature needs no further elaboration as it is customary in Nigeria that most persons, particularly high profile personalities are buried in their hometown, to do the otherwise may portend some consequences in future going by the Illah culture and tradition. "The recent internment of his colleague and friend , Shuaibu Amodu in Okpella, Edo State is a leading example," the union stated. source : http://www.jizuluvssports..com
