2023: Atiku-Okowa presidency 'll end Nigeria's feeding bottle economy - PDP

...Says APC, Buhari destroyed economy, wasted resources in seven years

Campaign management committee spokesman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Delta State, Latimore Oghenesivbe has again assured Nigerians that the party's presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and his running mate, Senator Dr Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa, will put an end to the nation's feeding bottle economy which practically slowed down economic growth since 1960.

Oghenesivbe gave the assurance in a statement on Tuesday in Asaba, saying that the over sixty years "feeding bottle economy" wherein states rely solely on monthly oil revenue from the federal government had crippled production of Nigerian made products and the extractive industry.

He noted that self reliance by regions and states under the restructuring federal system as assured by PDP Presidential and Vice Presidential Candidates, will create healthy competition among the regions, facilitate economic recovery, wealth creation and sustainable growth.

Oghenesivbe, who is also the Executive Assistant on Communications to PDP Vice Presidential Candidate, Senator Okowa, call on Nigerians especially eligible voters to cast their votes for PDP and vote Atiku for President, so as to rescue Nigeria from the bad governance of APC, noting that APC changed Nigeria from the fastest growing economy in Africa in 2015 to the world capital of hunger and indebtedness in 2022 and counting .

"It's glaring that restructuring is a must for Nigeria, if our governors must stop depending solely on oil revenue sharing on a monthly basis. They go cap in hand to Abuja to beg for their funds to be released.

"The oil revenue sharing thing has made some of the states to be very lazy; instead of partnering with the private sector and foreign investors to harness their rich minerals and other natural resources for export.

"Restructuring will enable states or regions to control their God given natural and mineral resources including crude oil, gold, coal and others, and to take charge of export, proceeds and pay tax to the federal government.

"The self reliance economic model of Atiku-Okowa will create healthy competition, create more jobs and wealth for Nigerians across States, regions and geopolitical zones.

ATIKU NATIONAL MANDATE.

Along with many other challenges, Nigeria is also facing a hunger crisis. Just this past week, Nigeria was ranked 103 out of 121 countries in the 2022 Global Hunger Index (GHI). And according to the World Bank, 6 Nigerians enter into extreme poverty every minute.

We need an agricultural revolution to ramp up food production to stem the hunger crisis amongst our people, and reduce the $5 billion Nigeria spends importing food annually.

Of all the major candidates, only Waziri Atiku Abubakar has personal experience in this regard. His farms grow various agricultural produce for local consumption and export. He is also the preeminent manufacturer of animal feeds in Nigeria, which allows livestock to add to the nation’s protein needs.

Through his Adama Beverage company and his Chicken Cottage fast foods franchise, he is also heavily invested in the agriculture sector’s value chain.

Only by electing a leader who has experience in the agricultural sector can Nigeria improve on her position in the Global Hunger Index, and stem the tide of Nigerians going into extreme poverty.

#Why_Should_U_Vote_Atiku: Democracy is representative of the people. It flows from the people. And it looks like them. That is why if you look at the Presidential Campaign Council of the Peoples Democratic Party, it is representative of the Nigerian people. Every region, religion, and ethnicity is represented in it.

In addition, it is also very lean. Which fits in with the promise of the candidate, Waziri Atiku Abubakar, to run a lean, mean Federal Government, with reduced exposes and increased performances.

Each state is represented by an indigene of that state, and respects the sensibilities and demographics of the people of that state.

However, when you compare the PDP’s PCC with the other major party’s PCC, you see a stark difference. The Labour Party has a bloated PCC of almost 1000 people. But that is not even its main drawback.

A major deficiency with the Labour Party’s PCC is that it makes a poor attempt at representation. Not only was Major General John Enenche, a major denier of the #LekkiMassacre of peaceful and unarmed #EndSARS protesters included (and later removed), the list does not reflect Nigeria’s true demographics.

In the seat of the Caliphate, the Labour Party named Ifeanyi Ezeagu as state coordinator for Sokoto. They also named John Ezeigbe as coordinator for Lagos state. The question that could be asked is where is Federal Character?

After widespread outrage, the Labour Party pulled their list for review. This shows unpreparedness to govern. Much like Buhari’s board appointment list that featured even dead people in it. The only party that prepared a list as and when due, is the PDP!

A PCC is a foretaste of what a government would look like and we do not want to go from frying pan to fire.

Meanwhile, the APC has not even completed its own list, just as they are also not ready with their candidate’s manifesto.

Only one party and candidate is ready with a list that is truly reflective of Federal Character. That is why Atiku is the unifier, and the PDP is the unifying vehicle.

Nigeria deserves better leadership, no matter what. Nigeria has advanced past its early mistakes. Instead of those who fabricate stories in order to appeal to the emotions and sentiments of the populace, Nigeria needs a true leader who understands what is actually at risk.
Adamawa Waziri fits into the modern Nigeria. Waziri has demonstrated beyond a shadow of a doubt that he is aware of the issues confronting Nigeria and has thoughtful ways to address them.

Wazirin Adamawa's readiness for action Until today, a few days before the general elections, no candidate has a manifesto as concise and unambiguous as that of Wazirin Adamawa, who released it six months before the electoral authority INEC started for campaigning. Another reason we must allow Wazirin Adamawa, His Excellency Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, the former vice president, to lead the country is that some of the presidential candidates are finding it difficult to release their manifestos a few days before the general election. Atiku is aware of what leadership entails and has a wealth of accomplishments and experiences.

I humbly beg Nigerians to allow good judgment to lead us to choose His Excellency Alhaji Atiku Abubakar as our next president. People's prejudicial viewpoints shouldn't be allowed to trump our own sound judgment.
