One thing I want people to know about CNG, is the state of individual engines before conversion and also the technicians that handle the conversion.
As it is now what do we do with the price.?During strike many drivers still work and the app no see any reason to effect changes,but if ALL drivers comply,I bet u even FG will intervene. E hailing is a big stakeholder in Nigeria economy. Many people bank on us,but we don't seems to know our importance

the person didn't lie oo I know a lot of early converters wey change car because of cng issue but with there second car on cng now they are enjoying but they won't tell you wetin there eye see before they start enjoying it as it is now

so the thing is many people who did it at the early stage regretted because then those doing the conversion are not yet perfect and there is little technology know how but right now I believe things have improved so do it and this is where I will advocate for Honda Civic more you can easy buy another engine before doing the installation the engine no pass 300k and if you swap with your old engine it's even less by 120k

And I met one today that was saying he didn't install CNG because many of them are regretting, that in the long run you will regret.

He was very angry and saying that they didn't tell them the disadvantages, like the engine pressure will reduce, that sometimes the korope doesn't start in the morning they will have to switch to fuel for the first start of the day, that it kills plugs and other things, that if your engine is weak you won't know because it won't allow it to smoke, he also mentioned they have to be going to rewire every now and then.

A higher earner is one who goes home with minimum 50k daily, meaning u should have done above 100k in gross. Do u know how many trips or how many km u will drive on Indrive to achieve that?
Can anyone on this thread show me any week he made 700k on Indrive except Xmas period. Any high price on Indrive is as a result of surge on Bolt. So indrive still depends on Bolt to be valuable. This other guy was praying for traffic, cos that's another way Indrive prices can be inflated.

The truth is CNG is an added advantage not the standard. The Standard is still 4 plug petrol vehicles of not more than 2.4litre engines.
You bought a car and still invested 500k to 1m for CNG installation on the car. Therefore, u have to enjoy the benefit of that investment installation not struggling to make ends meet ontop ur upgrade/extra expenses again.

Secondly, not all vehicles can carry the CNG. So if d ehailing companies want to make CNG the standard let them say so, so that we all know in other to do this business we have to install CNG so d car can pass inspection.
It will be unfair to fix prices based on CNG or refuse to increase the prices because it's fuel that is going up and not gas.

If u know d story of ehailing in Abuja, Benin, Owerri, Ibadan, PH etc u will not say the business will continue to thrive. If this continues, there will be fewer cars on d road, fewer trips on d app and lesser commission. Ultimately everything will crash due to poor service delivery.

Also just know the gas will go up systematically. Cooking gas was 4k for 12.5kg around 2021, Today it's 15k. So if u are banking on CNG remaining low u aren't being realistic. The more people that use it, d more demand, d high the price will go.
It will still be cheaper than fuel overall but that advantage will not be wide again.

Yes some actually dekit. I'm a technician at CGC liquified station, we actually get a handful of bus drivers who wants to dekit

1. Because the bus isn't theirs and the owner might want their bus back
2. The need money to do one or two
3. They actually do not need it as their engine is between 1.0-1.4L (Korope)
4. Availability of CNG refill station on their preferred routes.

So yes we dekit them and reinstall. Its a win win for all parties.

50k Gross target is very low. Reason I said no high earning driver praises Indrive.
So after fuel and commission u are probably left with 20k. Like u said its d best for u.
U don't control jack, they give u d options to choose from. Bolt Comfort is better than Indrive and when there is surge, u can't even compare.

Also a clue for some people if you don't have too much money for the cng. You can look for some of this yellow buses that got it free of charge who wants to dekit there vehicle to sell it to you cheaply

never say never oo but this is not to say make everybody no convert at this stage ooo but remember the raw material for this cng na lng and you know how much those gas station dey depense am?.....almost 1500. So it might be this government that is intentionally keeping it down because that's one of there achievement. Anyway sha make everybody convert to cng make all of us kuku continue accepting the rubbish prices till it becomes unsustainable for cng too then we start looking for another alternative. The truth is Ehailing fares are too low. The App companies should realize this. There may be more trips but the overall take home is lower than if the fares Increase and d demand drops. Drivers still make more even with low patronage. So there is no reason to make fares this cheap even in the face of increased fuel price. Except that they want drivers to lock shop. This is d first time fuel will go up by double and prices will not change. It's crazy. The prices must go up. The barest minimum is that a 2.4litre petrol engine car must gross X4 his fuel money, When u deduct commission and fuel ur take home profit should be double ur fuel money. That's only when it makes economic sense. That way u can save for car maintenance.
But currently u buy fuel of N30k and gross 60k after commission and fuel u are left with less than than half of the gross or nothing. Cos in some cases u use 10k fuel to complete a 10k trip.
FUEL PRICE HAS DOUBLED, FARES MUST DOUBLE.
There is no other way to say it.

Uber is consistent with their pricing and don’t really understand the Nigerian market. Indrive understands it better and when low lives a little busy in traffic, watch Indrive prices.

Uber likes keeping a large chunk of money they charge passenger unlike Indrive.

In another news, what exactly is happening with the numerous lane closures in the island. First Akpogbon bridge, second, costal road and then lekki epe express. I spent 4 hours from ogombo to Surulere. Map was directing me through idumota market so it will leave me stranded there.

I went to CNG refill stations at Jakande first gate and at Agege to observe how fast they dispense. It took 30 seconds to refill Keke cylinder and it cost 2,300.

I inquired from the keke guys that has it and they said that I shouldn’t waste time to convert as CNG is readily available there. Though they start selling by 8 AM and close 7pm in all stations.
