Exactly three years ago, I was on one of my usual trips to Nnewi, Anambra to check on my ailing mother and I needed to stop by a shop on Igwe Orizu road to buy some provisions.

I was attended to by a young beautiful girl, who was so courteous and customer-centric that I had to ask why she chose the salesgirl’s job instead looking for a better earning career.

The young girl told me that it was her father’s shop and that she had to help out since she could not get a job; that she just finished her youth service. I pitied her and dropped my call card asking her to send her CV to me so that I could help get her tested for employment in a bank. And she did. Her mom and dad later called to thank me for choosing to help their first daughter. And I did.


The young girl, Ebere who made a second class upper degree from a federal university proved her mettle by smashing the bank’s aptitude test at first attempt and was scheduled for oral interview. That was when I noticed she has a problem.

Candidate Ebere refused to appear for the her interview despite many opportunities created for her. Hours before her interview time, her phone would go off and she would never call back to apologize. The apologetic mother and the infuriated father were embarrassed. I forgot about her until

Irma Ida Ilse Grese (born 7 October 1923, Wrechen, Free State of Mecklenburg-Strelitz, Germany – died 13 December 1945, Hamelin, Germany) was employed at the Nazi concentration camps of Ravensbrück and Auschwitz, and was a warden of the women’s section of Bergen-Belsen.

She was convicted for crimes against humanity at the Belsen Trial and sentenced to death. She loved torture via different painful methods and wore heavy boots as a habit.

Grese also carried a pistol for the facilitation of her various purposes. Executed at 22 years, 67 days of age, Grese was the youngest woman to die judicially under English law in the 20th century, on 13 December 1945, Hamelin, Germany.

She was nicknamed “the Beast of Belsen”, “The Beautiful Beast”, and “Die Hyäne von Auschwitz”

9. Myra Hindley

Born in the year 1942, Myra Hindley was an English serial killer. In partnership with Ian Brady, she committed the rapes and murders of five small children. Together these two monsters were responsible for the kidnapping, sexual abuse, torture and murder of three children under the age of twelve and two teenagers, aged 16 and 17.

Hindley’s 17-year-old brother-in-law tipped her off to the police. Hindley plead not guilty to all of the murders. She was found guilty of three murders and was jailed for life. She was never released, and died in prison in 2002.

8. Isabella of Castile

Born in the year 1451 and died in 1504, Isabella the Catholic, was queen of Castile and León. She and her husband, Ferdinand II of Aragon, brought stability to the kingdoms that became the basis for the unification of Spain.


Isabella and Ferdinand are known for completing the Reconquista, ordering conversion or exile of their Muslim and Jewish subjects and financing Christopher Columbus’ 1492 voyage that led to the opening of the “New World”. Isabella was granted the title Servant of God by the Catholic Church in 1974.

7. Beverly Allitt


The Angel of Death, Beverley Gail Allitt is an English serial killer one of the 10 most evil women. She was convicted of murdering four children, attempting to murder three other children, and causing grievous bodily harm to a further six children.

The crimes were committed over a period of 59 days between February and April 1991 in the children’s ward at Grantham and Kesteven Hospital, Lincolnshire, where Allitt was employed as a State Enrolled Nurse. She administered large doses of insulin to at least two victims and a large air bubble was found in the body of another, but police were unable to establish how all the attacks were carried out. In May 1993, at Nottingham Crown Court, she received 13 life sentences for the crimes.

Mr. Justice Latham, sentencing, told Allitt that she was “a serious danger” to others and was unlikely ever to be considered safe enough to be released. She is detained at Rampton Secure Hospital in Nottinghamshire.

SATI also called Suttee, is a practice among Hindu communities where a recently widowed woman, either voluntarily or by force, immolates herself on her deceased husband’s pyre. The woman who immolates herself is, hence, called a Sati which is also interpreted as a ‘chaste woman’ or a ‘good and devoted wife’.

What is the purpose of Sati?

According to ancient Hindu customs, sati symbolised closure to a marriage. It is a voluntary act in and a sign of being a dutiful wife. A woman willingly follows her husband to the afterlife. It was, therefore, considered to be the greatest form of devotion of a wife towards her d**d husband.

Sati or suttee is an ancient Indian practice in which a widow gets herself burnt to ashes during her late husband’s funeral pyre.

Interestingly, unlike the families of the Kshatriya, the women of the Brahmin caste were excluded from this practice because the Brahmins believed that because they belonged to this caste (also regarded as a high caste), their caste allowed them naturally attain purity hence there was no need to perform Sati.

While Sati spread to Russia, Fiji and Vietnam, some historians claim that this practice might not have been indigenous to India but brought to them from some other cultures like Scythian invaders earlier in their history.

If the man had several wives, only one of the wives, his preferred was granted the privilege of being immolated with him. The wife who performed this was also envied by the others and her family was treated with respect.

A Chinese man is left stunned after finding out that his twin babies have two fathers.

The parent, who remains unidentified, made the shocking discovery after taking the newborns to undergo a DNA test as part of the standard procedure to register their births in China, a DNA analyst told reporters.

The man was astounded upon receiving the test results which indicated that his wife also had sex with someone other than him, Chinese media report.

Deng Yajun, the practitioner who produced the paternity report, said that the chance for such a case to happen is one in 10 million.

‘First, the mother needs to produce two eggs instead of one in the same month [to have twins],’ Ms. Deng, who is also the director of Beijing Zhongzheng Forensic Identification Centre, explained to China News Weekly.
‘Second, she needs to have intercourse with two men in a really short space of time to make it possible.

‘The results showed that the children have the same mother but not the same father. They have at least two fathers,’ Ms. Deng suggested.

Twins being born with different fathers is an extremely rare occurrence known as heteropaternal superfecundation.

Women usually have to have sex with two different men within a day before or after ovulation for both eggs to be fertilized.

A man identified as Mr. Emesim Chukwunonso from Ukpor in Nnewi-North LGA, reportedly came back to life a few hours after being confirmed d**d by a hospital.

Mr. Chukwnonso was alleged to have died after being involved in an accident where he was working.

Rev. Canon Chiadikaobi Emmanuel of Jesus Healing School, Nnewi, who disclosed this through his official Facebook Page revealed that Mr. Chukwunonso died two (2) times before he came back to life.

Mr. Emesim Chukwunonso had a fatal accident where he was working. His cutting machine hit an iron in the wall and bounced back to cut his skull into his brain, from the head down to his cheek.

Having lost much blood, he died in the first hospital they admitted him. When confirmed d**d, his friends took him away from the hospital.

Meanwhile, he saw himself depart from his physical body to embark on a journey where he walked with thousands of people. All were moving towards a particular direction and yet nobody looked back or talked to each other. All one by one, passed through one gate.

The person before him passed through the huge gate, and it was his turn to enter when suddenly the gate banged close. And a loud voice commanded him, saying, “Go back.” Then he turned to go back only to regain his consciousness on earth. At that time his fingers moved and his friends became happy and drove the vehicle speedily to Nnamdi Azikiwe Teaching Hospital, Nnewi.

In the emergency ward, the doctors discovered that the cut was deep. The skull was cut and blood and debris of the skull entered his brain. The result was that he lost his memory. He could not recognize his wife or where he was. The doctors recommended an operation which a 50-50 contract, his wife and twin signed. He could survive, die or permanently lose his right memory.

In the course of the surgery, which lasted for six hours, he left his body again and saw himself in a desert region where thick darkness covered. He knew it was his last battle for life but the darkness was so much for him.

Bizarre images appear to show a newborn holding his mum’s contraceptive coil that failed to stop her from falling pregnant with him.

The baby boy can be apparently be seen clasping his mother’s yellow and black intrauterine device in his hand at Hai Phong International Hospital in the city of Hai Phong in northern Vietnam.

Obstetrician Tran Viet Phuong said the device had come out when the baby was born.

The infant had it held firmly in his hands when the picture was taken, it is claimed.

Josephine Myrtle Corbin was born on May 12, 1868, in Lincoln County, Tennessee, with a rare fetal anomaly known as dipygus. Her body was perfectly formed from her head down to her navel, below which it divided into two pelvises, and four lower limbs.

Myrtle Corbin was also born with two sets of internal and external reproductive anatomies.

Her birth was not marked by anything out of the ordinary, and her mother claimed to have had typical labor and delivery, apart from the baby being momentarily in the breech position.

Overall, Myrtle Corbin was a perfectly healthy, active, and thriving baby girl. All in spite of having four legs.

After being born with four legs, two normal-sized ones on either side of a pair of diminutive ones, the doctor who delivered Myrtle Corbin felt it necessary to point out the factors they felt could have resulted in her deformity.

First, the baby’s parents, the doctors said, were about 10 years apart in age. William H. Corbin was 25, and his wife Nancy was 34.


Second, the doctors noted that the couple bore a striking resemblance to each other. Both of them were redheads, with blue eyes and very fair complexions. They actually looked so similar that the doctors felt it necessary to explicitly point out that the two were not “blood kin” in their medical reports.

It seemed that the young girl was simply an oddity – her parents had had seven other children, all of whom were perfectly ordinary.

Medical reports of the time stated that between each pair of legs, there is a complete, distinct set of genital organs, both external and internal, each supported by a pubic arch. Each set acts independently of the other, except at the menstrual period. There are apparently two sets of bowels and two anis; both are perfectly independent,– diarrhea may be present on one side, constipation on the other.

Myrtle joined Barnum Circus at the age of 13. When she appeared on stage, nothing gave away her unusual condition: apart from the particularly large hips and a clubbed right foot, Myrtle was an attractive girl and had an altogether normal figure. But when she lifted her gown, the public was left breathless.

Throughout her time as a sideshow attraction, she became wildly popular. Eventually, rather than bringing the curious onlookers to her, she began traveling. By visiting small towns and cities and performing for the public, she ended up earning up to $450 a week.

Eventually, famed showman P.T. Barnum heard about her and hired her for his show.

For four years, she continued to work for Barnum and even inspired several other showmen to produce fake four-legged humans for their own shows when they couldn’t get her.

She married James Clinton Bicknell when she was 19 years old.

Precocious puberty made it possible for 5-year-old Lina Medina of Peru to get pregnant and produce a bouncing baby boy. This scenario has remained a mystery, especially in medical history.

It was in April 1939, when Lina Medina’s mother took her to the hospital in Pisco, Peru, to see the renowned Dr. Gerardo Lozada for help. The poor woman noticed her daughter’s protruding belly, and as someone who lived in a remote village on the Andes, she looked worried.

She believed that evil spirits had taken possession of her young daughter’s body as the daughter’s stomach appeared to have some unusual growth. At once, Dr. Lozada assumed it must be a large abdominal tumor.

However, to ascertain his suspicions, the doctor then carried out a more careful evaluation of the five-year-old. To his amazement, he could hear a heartbeat. The child was carrying a child. Unbelievable!

For further perusal and findings, Dr. Lozada took the little girl to Peru’s capital, Lima, to see other expert doctors. The test reports came back positive. The young child was seven months gone into the pregnancy!!!

Then, on May 14, 1939, at the age of five years, seven months, and three weeks old, Lina Medina became the youngest mother in world history to delivered a baby. A healthy boy who weighed 2.7 kilograms. It was a new miracle in the history of medicine.

The baby was born through a cesarean section because her pelvis was immature to support the natural birth of the child. Everything went well as the mother, and the baby was in perfect condition.




The baby boy was named Gerardo, after Dr. Gerardo Lozada. The physician who handled her unusual case.

Soon, Lina became a national sensation, and subsequent medical examinations revealed that she had a rare condition known as precocious puberty. A situation whereby a child experiences puberty at an unusually young age. This rare disorder occurs in 1 out of every 10,000 children. Her ovaries were fully developed.

These creatures are called Demodex.

Demodex is an eight-legged mite from the Demodicidae family. The Demodex is a species of tiny mites that live on your eyelashes. They crawl around your face, eating up all of the oily secretions. They don't excrete onto your face, but they do eat until they quite literally blow themselves up all over your face. Almost every animal on the planet is host to the Demodex, so most likely, you aren’t exempt.

There are many species of Demodex but only two species live on humans: Demodex folliculorum and Demodex brevis, both frequently referred to as eyelash mites. Different species of animals host different species of Demodex for example, Demodex canis lives on the domestic dog. About 65 species of Demodex are known.

A three-storey residential building was on Tuesday burnt by fire in Umuoji street by old road, Nkpor, Anambra State.

The fire, which affected the topmost floor of the building located close to a hospital, was reportedly caused by an electrical fault and also spread to other flats in the building.

Anaedoonline.com gathered that no death was recorded but property worth millions were lost in the inferno.

According to an eyewitness, she stated the fire spread to another close building and everywhere in the neighborhood was smoky. She said the fire servicemen were on the ground to help with the situation.

The Chief firefighter in the state, Engr. Martin Agbili, confirmed the incident, saying no casualty was recorded.

He said his men were on ground to put out the fire from escalating to other floors.

“The fire was caused by a power surge. My men arrived at the scene almost immediately and were able to contain the fire,” he added.

In most pre-colonial Igbo hinterland, the responsibility of funding the funeral of a father lies squarely on his first son. Other sons, daughters, and inlaws only lend a helping hand. This was the case if the deceased had not shared his estate before he died; a situation that would warrant the first son to do the sharing at a time of his choosing after the funeral of his dad. Just like our president has been sharing political positions, whatever measurement the first son applies in sharing is not appealable.

But if the first son has no capacity to finance the funeral of his father, any of the sons who can, are encouraged to foot the bill.

In Nnewi, we say “onye ji ego wepụta kwaa nna na ọ bụghị dị ọkpara gburu ya” meaning “let any son who is capable, finance the father’s funeral since the first son didn’t k**l his father”.

Nigeria Football Federation, club owners and other stakeholders convened to decide on how best to end the ongoing season, which was put on hold due to the outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic.

In a statement signed by the permanent secretary of the ministry of youths and sports, Mr Gabriel Aduda said following a visual meeting presided by the honourable.

'The minister had directed the NFF to come up with the best possible options to end the league, in the spirit of fair play and justice.

Minister on Monday, the ministry directed that an enlarged meeting of the stakeholders be convened to deliberate, agree and find a way forward and NFF should revert to the ministry. “Although the ministry was invited, it decided to exclude itself to enable the stakeholders thrash out the critical issues and revert to the ministry. The final decision on the league would be guided by the COVID-19 protocols and infrastructure.

The minister had taken a bold decision by advising the federal government to postpone the Edo National Sports Festival earlier scheduled for March 20-April 1 due to the pandemic.

Nigerian Universities, the University of Ibadan, and the University of Nigeria made the world’s best 2,000 would have been better.

While speaking about the ranking, the Chairman University of Ibadan chapter of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), Professor Ayo Akinwole lamented that the two universities which presently hold national rankings of first and second in Nigeria could not make top 1,000.

Making allusion to other universities in Africa, the union stated that the first thirteen universities in South Africa made the best 2,000 universities while seven of them made the best one thousand varsities in the world.

By this ranking, the University of Ibadan is 8th in Africa followed by the University of Western Cape, South Africa (1,158) that is ranked 9th on the continent.

ASUU stated that the ranking had vindicated the struggle by ASUU to make the government commit not less than 26% of her national budget to education lamenting that the best the Muhammadu Buhari government has done is to reduce the budget year to about 6% at present.

According to him, ASUU has been drawing Government and Nigerians’ attention to the rot in the tertiary education system and was proven right by the 2012 Needs Assessment conducted by the federal government.

As revealed in the ranking, it has taken personal dogged efforts of research output of academics in the University of Ibadan and the University of Nigeria to position Nigeria on the global map.

The Provost of College of Health Sciences, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Nnewi Campus, Professor Okwudili O. Udemezue, is suspected to have died of coronavirus.

Anaedonline.com reliably gathered that Prof. Udemezu died at the Isolation Center of Nnamdi Azikiwe University Teaching Hospital, Nnewi.

Prof. Udemezu who died this morning was said to have been down of coronavirus close to a week now.

When contacted, the Chairman of the Medical Advisory Committee (CMAC), Dr. Joe Ugboaja, confirmed that the Provost died of the symptoms of Covid-19, however, he insisted that since the sample test result is not yet out, it cannot be confirmed that Prof. Udemezu died of coronavirus.
