I know this is not a government initiative, I am just saying that you should use to pitch to the government to embark on projects that will yield afficiencies in your GPS initiatives as well better the communities. Fixing roads and incorporating area is an example of such!!! Wont incorporating area and identifying properties help the GPS initiatives? Yes it will, So use this opportunity to pitch to them. |
Stupid if this is true! What happened to his former jets? Why not buy extended warranty on them? |
Please let's not bite more than we can chew all in the name of trying to be individual rich! First thing first. North America, Europe, Australia ect did not take double steps to get to where they are. The founding fathers of these great nations paid their prices and left resounding legacies that everyone is enjoying today. Technology in Nigeria is a great idea. GSM, CDMA, internet etc are all great ideas and individual driven. Let's not forget that we still need the basic things to live. We need water, good roads, electricity etc, Let's use some of these solutions to push our leaders to the wall and make them come down to the masses. Confuse them with demos and let them know that though these solutions will be functional but to harness greater efficiencies, basic infrastructures has to be deployed. |
Thanks for the clarification. At this point, I will say it is a go for now but the project will harness more efficiency if houses/destinations are properly identified, streets are properly named and areas not incorporated are incorporated. First step first, If this project is launched, it will work well only in areas where people don't have difficulties locating their destinations already (Victoria Island, Ikeja, Surulere, Ikoyi). For areas like Ikotun, Ajugunle, Ikorodu, Isheri etc, it will still be like chasing the shadow. Since those in power/leadership will be in for this initiative, extend a humble call to them to upgrade infrastructure in order to enjoy the full benefit that this rollout will offer. This is the time we Nigerian should begin to push for answers with every little solution we have for the market. A humble message like ' Mr Governor, for this solution to be fully harnessed, please can you rollout a street and properties identification exercise?' That guy will think twice and embark on it. Planning, Planning and Planning is the key! Who walks without Standing as a baby? Kokjunkie - I see you are from Col OH, synergies is the gateway. Let me know if you need additional thoughts. |
Which roads are fixed? Have you gone inside residential streets? Go to Ishri by Berger, go to Irawo/ Owode Onirin, Go to Towolawi street in Coker Aguda, etc, Which is more important my friend? Pleasure (GPS) or basic necessities (water, good roads etc)? How many households in Lagos can boast of portable drinking water?? People have taken it on themselves to sink boreholes, how many can afford it? What about people who live in areas where boreholes are not feasible? Now, people say Lagos is 'clean': At what expense At the expense of people's lives!!!! The cleaners/sweepers are being knocked down by vehicles everyday because of no value for lives! Why can't the government use sweeper trucks rather than handing brooms and parkers to women and men to stand on expressways with just one cone used as cautions? Common now! Overall, I stall rate the governance maturity as adhoc. Everyone in government needs to go back to the class room and learn leadership. |
GPS technology in Lagos will be waste of money! Fix the roads first and mark the streets with names. A lot of the areas are incorporated. |

First thing to be done is to remove everyone in power presently and start a new leadership with fresh people. Everone in leadership currently is mutilated and induced with insincerity. I think Nigeria has to be professionally managed with a defined leadership framework. Any leader that does not play by it should be jailed for a minimum of 40 years in a special jail located by Kaduna/Abuja expressway where people can see them and lay curses on them. |
