oladele007: i will let u know when am ready. If you are still looking for a bricklayer to lay the blocks, I can refer you to one that lives around Ikorodu. He did setting of the blocks for my house in Owode Onirin. I paid him and his labor N5000 per 80 pcs of blocks. If you do the maths, your N1000 pcs of blocks will cost you N62,000 roughly. Let me know if you Need his contact. Also, for plastering a 3 bedroom flat all ensuite (measuring 10.5 x 13 sqm), I paid him N150,000. They did an excellent job. I promised him more business because of his reasonable charge and excellent delivery. Jerrybenchi@yahoo.com |

3. Life is toughER for Immigrants in America. From not having a SSN to get jobs, to people simply discriminating for your "accent". You will LEARN that America is not the least bit tolerant for immigrants. Especially if you come to places that are predominantly white. Unfortunately what I end up seeing Nigerians adopt is the "akata" way. A LOT of them end up trying to speak ebonics and they just sound silly and ridiculous. "nigggaz is tryna hoop yo". No. Your azz never hooped before when did you become a "niggga tryna hoop"? --------- Not totally true. Your confidence will see you through. If you don't mix with the right people and portray yourself for who you are, you will not progress. Accent is not a ground for discrimination. Nigerians speak better than Indians but you see more Indians in Corporate America. My humble message come advise here is 'raise your confidence, mix with the right crowd, break silence and start conversations'. We are smart but we get intimidated with what we see. |
StainlessH, you have a good position in what you do. However, for you to win a better market share, you have to better position your adverts. In the world of onlines/ecmmerce sales, adverts without a measure of prices is too much effort without success. With that said, post samples of your work and include prices on them. That will drive more leads your way. Good luck. |
Very nice job being done! Spyder it's all your effort. Your ideas are unbeatable. |

You would have gotten responses if you posting has prices. At least I would have called you right away. Attaching prices to your listings is the secret to online marketing. |

In a effort to enhance transparency and to bring prospective home owners closer to house builders and finishers, I am setting up this thread to give everyone that has a role to play in building a house the opportunity to advertise themselves. In the past few months, I have embarked on Nairaland periodic searches to dig out contacts of bricklayers, roofers, tilers, welders, carpenters, painters, window installers, supervisors, inspectors, surveyors, C of O processors, property lawyers etc etc. I found out that, though, Nairaland is a rich database of information, there is not centralized forum for these information. With that said, please if you are a bricklayer, painter, electrician, tiler, POP installer, PVC installer, tiler, labourer, sand supplier/tipper owner, welder, building material seller etc etc etc... Please post your contact(s) and the locations you can work in on this thread. There are a lot of people living abroad that visits Nairaland and want to contact you directly for jobs. |
