Former CAF and FIFA instructor and one time coach of the Super Eagles Chief Adegboye Onigbinde has hailed the appointment of u-23 coach Samson Siasia as the new Super Eagles interim coach, saying he is better suited to the job than Sunday Oliseh, who was temperamental and didn't have any experience for the role.

“When Oliseh was being appointed, I did not raise objection to it but I was particular about his background,” Onigbinde told completesportsnigeria.com. "And with the new people that have come on board, I believe they have better coaching pedigree than Oliseh.
And that was my objection when Oliseh was appointed, question of experience and behaviour, those were the two issues I raised. And during his tenure, he exhibited lack of all those things clearly. Siasia has been there once and I hope he would have learnt his lessons. I remember when he first came, in a meeting with the technical committee, I cautioned him on a certain step he was taking. I have no reason to hate any football coach in this country or anywhere, but we are talking about the fate of our country. And just about two weeks ago, as if I knew, I sent a message of commendation to Amuneke.”

Lagos state is serious about crime fighting and has established the first DNA Forensic lab in the country. Read the press statement below...

"In furtherance of its commitment to the criminal justice sector reforms and take the fight against crime to a greater level, the Lagos State Government on Tuesday announced that it has concluded plans to establish the first ever high-powered DNA Forensic Laboratory in Nigeria which will take off within the next six to twelve months.

The lab, which would be called the Lagos State DNA Forensics Centre (LSDFC), when fully operational, would fulfill an unmet need for DNA profiling which is a unique forensic technique that is now being used all over the world.

Addressing journalists at the Bagauda Kaltho Press Centre in Alausa on Tuesday, the State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Mr. Adeniji Kazeem, said the establishment of the centre was another eloquent testimony of Governor Akinwunmi Ambode’s sincerity and seriousness towards fighting all forms of criminality.

Northern Politician and activist, Najatu Muhammad rejects Buhari’s appointment via newspaper advert
Northern politician and activist, Najatu Muhammad, used the quarter page of Daily Trust newspaper publication today, to announce her rejection of an appointment by President Buhari. Buhari had over the weekend ordered the sack of 13 Vice Chancellors of 13 Federal Universities and announced their replacements. Najatu was one of the replacements.

In her publication, Najatu said she was rejecting her appointment to serve as Chairperson of Federal University Dutse for personal reasons. She said she used the pages of a newspaper to reject the appointment because that was how she got to know of her appointment.

President Muhammadu Buhari said Monday in Abuja that the Federal Government has begun mobilizing the military and task forces to stop the sabotage of oil facilities and kidnapping of citizens for ransom in the coastal areas of the country.
Speaking at a meeting with a delegation from the United States Institute of Peace, President Buhari also said that his administration is giving the highest priority to the resettlement of displaced persons and rehabilitation of infrastructure in the Northeast. The President assured the delegation that his administration's ongoing war against corruption will be fought within the ambit of the law and that mechanisms have been put in place to ensure respect for human rights in the fight against terrorism. “We attach great importance to human rights. If there are breaches, they will be investigated and dealt with,” he said.
