I dream of walking through a city of purest gold. The Bible tells us in Revelation 21:18 there will be precious stones like jasper, emerald, sapphire and many more in the walls and foundations. Who would not desire to sit and reign with Him forever in such splendour?
I can't wait oo my broda. Heaven will be glorious!!

Christianity EtcWhat Will It Be Like In Heaven? - Don Stewart by jiggaz(op): 7:31pm On May 11, 2017
The Bible tells us many things about the character, or nature, of heaven, the presence of God.

1. No Death

In heaven there will be no death.

Then Death and Hades were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. . . there shall be no more death (Revelation 20:14, 21:4).

2. No Tears

Sadness and pain will be a thing of the past for there will be no tears in this new heaven.

And God shall wipe away every tear from their eyes . . . nor sorrow, nor crying; and there shall be nor more pain, for the former things have passed away (Revelation 21:4).

This fulfills what the prophet Isaiah said.

Then the Lord GOD will wipe away the tears from all faces, and the disgrace of His people He will take away from all the earth, for the LORD has spoken (Isaiah 25:cool.

3. Free From Impurity

Heaven will be pure.

But nothing unclean will enter it, nor anyone who practices abomination or falsehood, but only those who are written in the Lamb's book of life (Revelation 21:27).

4. Free From Darkness

Heaven is a place that is free from darkness.

And there will be no more night; they need no light of lamp or sun, for the Lord God will be their light, and they will reign forever and ever (Revelation 22:5).

5. Home Of Righteousness

Scripture calls heaven the home of righteousness.

But in keeping with His promise we are looking forward to a new heaven and a new earth, the home of righteousness (2 Peter 3:13).

6. Reunion With Saved Loved Ones

It will be a place where saved loved ones will be re-united.

For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trumpet of God; and the dead in Christ shall rise first. Then we who are alive and remain will be caught up in the clouds together with them to meet the Lord in the air; and so we will be with the Lord forever (1 Thessalonians 4:17).

7. Perfect Rest

Heaven will be a place of perfect rest.

And I heard a voice from heaven saying, "Write this: Blessed are the dead who from now on die in the Lord." "Yes," says the Spirit, "They will rest from their labors, for their deeds follow them" (Revelation 14:13).

The is not cessation of activities but rather the completion of a goal. Our earthly labors are finished, we are now in His presence. All spiritual battles are over.

8. Believers Will Be Perfected

Heaven will also be the place where perfected believers will live. The Bible says that believers who enter heaven will be changed.

Listen, I will tell you a mystery! We will not all die, but we will all be changed (1 Corinthians 15:51).

Three changes will take place: a change of the body, a change of the mind, and a change of the character.

Body Changed

The bodies of believers will be changed. They will be like that of the resurrected Christ. The Bible says.

Beloved, we are God's children now; what we will be has not yet been revealed. What we do know is this: when He is revealed, we will be like Him, for we will see Him as He is (1 John 3:2)

New Mind

Our mind will be free from sin.

Now I know only in part; then I will know fully, even as I have been fully known (1 Corinthians 13:12).

We will have a full knowledge of God in heaven.

New Character

Heaven will also be a place where believers will have a new character. Everyone there will be pure.

Blessed are those who wash their robes, so that they will have the right to the tree of life and may enter the city by the gates (Revelation 22:14).

9. All Our Needs Met

Heaven will be a place where all of our needs will be met.

They will hunger no more, and thirst no more; the sun will not strike them, nor any scorching heat; for the Lamb at the center of the throne will be their shepherd, and He will guide them to springs of the water of life, and God will wipe away every tear from their eyes (Revelation 7:16-17).

10. We Shall See God!

In heaven, we shall see God. Jesus said.

Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God (Matthew 5:cool.

Jesus said believers will be with Him.

And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also (John 14:3).

He prayed to His Father.

Father, I desire that those also, whom You have given Me, may be with Me where I am, to see My glory, which You have given Me because you loved Me before the foundation of the world (John 17:24).

Face To Face

The Apostle Paul spoke of a day when we will be face to face with God.

For now we see in a mirror, dimly, but then we will see face to face (1 Corinthians 13:12).

The Book of Revelation records this happening.

And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, "Now the dwelling of God is with humanity, and He will live with them. They will be His people, and God Himself will be with them and be their God (Revelation 21:3).

They shall see His face, and His name shall be on their foreheads (Revelation 22:4).

11. Service

Although heaven will be a place of rest there is still service to God that will be performed.

And there shall be no more curse, but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it, and His servants shall serve Him (Revelation 22:3).

12. Worship

Heaven is an opportunity where we will have perfect worship of God.

But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him (John 4:23).

13. Experience The Richness Of His Grace

The Bible says that believers will continually experience the riches of God's grace in heaven.

So that in the ages to come He might show the immeasurable riches of His grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus (Ephesians 2:7).

14. Singing

Singing will be a part of our heavenly experience.

And they sang the song of Moses, the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying (Revelation 15:3).

15. Ruling

We will rule with the Lord in the next life.

If we endure, we shall also reign with Him (2 Timothy 2:12).

16. Eating And Drinking

It is possible, though not necessary, to eat and drink in heaven.

And let him who thirsts come, And whoever desires, let him take the water of life freely (Revelation 22:17).

Down the middle of the great street of the city. On each side of the river stood the tree of life, bearing twelve crops of fruit, yielding its fruit every month. And the leaves of the tree are for the healing of the nations (Revelation 22:2).

Jesus told His disciples.

For I tell you I will not drink again of the fruit of the vine until the kingdom of God comes (Luke 22:18).

The Bible speaks of the marriage supper of the Lamb where the believers are banqueting.

Then the angel said to me [John], "Write: 'Blessed are those who are invited to the wedding supper of the Lamb!'" And he added, "These are the true words of God"(Revelation 19:9).

17. No Boredom

Eternity will not be boring. Believers will be busy as servants of the most high God.

For this reason, they are before the throne of God; and they serve Him day and night in His temple; and He who sits on the throne shall spread His tabernacle over them (Revelation 7:15).

There will be no boredom in heaven because everyone wants to be there.

Summary

The Bible describes heaven as a wonderful place. The best thing about heaven is that believers will enjoy God and His presence in heaven.

Believers, believe right. See Christ's message to the church in Laodicea, which still exists today (in the form of beliefs held by some Christians.)

Revelation 3:
15“I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot. I could wish you were cold or hot. 16 So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of My mouth." 17 Because you say, ‘I am rich, have become wealthy, and have need of nothing’—and do not know that you are wretched, miserable, poor, blind, and naked—"

Christ said "I could wish you were cold or hot." The “hot” here is definitely not doing our best at keeping the Law in order to gain right-standing with God while still calling on Jesus, as many teach and believe. This would mean getting cut off from Christ and falling from grace. See Galatians 5:4-
"For if you are trying to make yourselves right with God by keeping the law, you have been cut off from Christ! You have fallen away from God’s grace."

The Law demands perfect obedience from those who try to keep it, but no one can be made righteous in the sight of God by law-keeping. See Romans 3:20. Thanks to the preaching of a different gospel, many Christians are still trying to get right with God through works of the Law, after Christ died to give us this right-standing. This is how to get cut off from Christ.

Believers, our right-standing with God has nothing to do with what we do/did or how well we keep the Law. It's got all to do with what Christ has done, because God loved us so. It's a gift without which one cannot be free from the grip of sin. Romans 5:19 tells us "...so also by one Man's obedience many will be made righteous." 2 Corinthians 5:21 tells us "For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us that we might become the righteousness of God in Him."

The interpretation of being "hot" as Christians doing their best to keep the Law in order to be right with God would also mean that “cold” is having a total disregard for the Law. Christ said “I could wish you were cold or hot.” Why would Christ wish for us to have a total disregard for the Law? He came to fulfil the very same Law for us! That is how holy and upright the Law is. It takes the blood of the Son of God- our Saviour Jesus Christ- to save us from the consequences of disobedience to the Law: death, preceded by its symptoms of curses, sickness, lack, anxiety, oppression, stress, etc.

Believers, the lukewarm church is the church that is neither under Law nor under Grace; neither cold nor hot. One leg on Mount Sinai and the other on Mount Zion. Calling Christ "Saviour" but not believing that He accomplished all that He did for us on the cross.

Think of it as the whole world writing an exam for which the price of failure is death (the wages of sin is death) and where failing one question means our score is zero (you break one law, keep the rest and you are guilty of all according to James 2:10) For us to pass (be saved from eternal damnation, sin and addiction, oppression, sickness, etc) we need a 100% score, no more, no less. But everyone has already failed at least one question (all have sinned; there is none righteous.) We were all doomed.

God saw how hopeless our case was and sent His own Son to die for our sins, because He loved us so.

Christ died the death that we all should have died and righteously offered all of us the requisite 100% score (His Righteousness, see Romans 5:19) that will give us life, the only brand of righteousness that cuts it with God. But many people hang on to their 99% or less score (human effort at keeping the law and doing good works) which is as good as zero because of their 1% or more stain (break one law and you're guilty of all.)

Others attempt to take some marks from Grace (Christ’s freely given 100%) to "complete" their own score (righteousnesses from works of the Law!) Believing that their filthy rags righteous works should count for something with God, these ones say “I know I am not perfect but God will see that I’ve tried my best.” One leg on Mount Zion and the other on Mount Sinai. These ones here are not totally under Law and not totally under Grace. Neither hot nor cold! This is an abomination to the Lord. See Christ's words to this lukewarm church:

Revelation 3:"16 So because you are lukewarm (spiritually useless), and neither hot nor cold, I will vomit you out of My mouth [rejecting you with disgust].17 Because you say, “I am rich, and have prospered and grown wealthy, and have need of nothing,” and you do not know that you are wretched and miserable and poor and blind and naked [without hope and in great need],"

These ones feel that they have some good in them, that they are still "okay.” They forget that if you break one law you are guilty of all (James 2:10.) They do not know that they need white garments (Christ's righteousness). They strive to keep the Law to get some righteousness and think “Jesus will understand, see how hard I tried and do the rest.”

Even we would balk at the thought of drinking a cool glass of seemingly cold water that has just a tiny speck of the offerer's poop in it! Because they reject God's gift of righteousness and hold on to their own filthy rags righteousnesses that proceed from self (self-righteousness,) they are cut off from Christ. See Galatians 5:4.

Believers, let's not be found in this church (with this belief.) Our best can never cut it with the Most High God. It takes only the blood of Jesus (no additives) to escape the full wrath of the Law, overcome sinful acts and live right. It takes Grace. We are accepted in the Beloved, not in our good works.

Better to be totally under Law where you see that you can never pass by your own efforts and be driven to Grace; or totally under grace, where you get to enjoy the full benefits of our Lord's goodness. Only this way can we overcome sin.

See our Saviour's words to this church in Revelation 3 because He loves the sinner so:
"I counsel you to buy from Me gold that has been heated red hot and refined by fire so that you may become truly rich; and white clothes [representing righteousness] to clothe yourself so that the shame of your unclothedness will not be seen; and healing salve to put on your eyes so that you may see. 19 Those whom I [dearly and tenderly] love, I rebuke and discipline [showing them their faults and instructing them]; so be enthusiastic and repent [change your inner self—your old way of thinking, your sinful behavior—seek God’s will].20 Behold, I stand at the door [of the church] and continually knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him (restore him), and he with Me."

He wants to be Saviour to the uttermost to us all.

Did you notice that Christ is outside and not inside the church? This church locked Christ outside, rejecting His perfect work of salvation and holding on to their own righteousnesses to save them.

Did you notice that Christ is knocking on the door of the church in verse 20 and not a brothel or a club for sinners? The sinners are in the church!

Did you notice that the door cannot be opened by proxy? Salvation is personal. The message is for people in the church who are professing Christ yet rejecting His gift of righteousness and boasting in their own righteousnesses from works of the Law.

Believers, let's forsake our own filthy (menstrual) rags righteousnesss from works of the Law and rest in Christ's perfect gift of righteousness to us. With His gift of righteousness comes no condemnation for all who are in Christ Jesus. It's His "Neither do I condemn you"that makes us "Go and sin no more." You will not continue to sin. This is the logic of heaven.

Believers, by His grace, let's not be found here. Let Christ be to you Saviour to the uttermost. He wants nothing more for you to be His sheep and He your Shepherd. Sheep are literally helpless and useless without a shepherd. See Romans 5:17-

"17 For the sin of this one man, Adam, caused death to rule over many. But even greater is God’s wonderful grace and His gift of righteousness, for all who receive it will live in triumph over sin and death through this one Man, Jesus Christ."

The Holy Spirit will teach you all things.

Believe Right and you will Live Right.

Christianity EtcThe Difference Between The Righteous And The Wicked - Olamide Obire by jiggaz(op): 5:56pm On May 05, 2017
Believers, in God's eyes, the difference between the righteous and the wicked is not what they do or do not do. It is HOW they are made righteous. When your believing is right, right living will follow.

The bible tells us in Romans 5:19 - "For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, much more by one Man's obedience many will be made righteous."

Committing acts of sin is not what makes a person a sinner. Adam's sin made the whole human race sinners. Wicked. Committing acts of sin, alongside sickness, stress, depression, lack, oppression, etc are fruits of the old nature (sinner nature) that was inherited from Adam. Everyone with this old nature is under Law. As long as this old nature is intact, sin will multiply. Because "the strength of sin is the Law" (1 Cor. 15:56,) those who try to keep the Law in order to be righteous only strengthen the grip of sin over their lives. The more people with this old nature try to keep the Law, the more they sin. See Romans 7:5:

"When we were controlled by our old nature, sinful desires were at work within us, and the law aroused these evil desires that produced a harvest of sinful deeds, resulting in death."

By the same token, keeping the Law and doing righteous things is not what makes a person righteous in the sight of God. Many non-Christians do their best not to sin but this does not mean they are saved. Romans 3:20 says "For no one can ever be made right with God by doing what the law commands. The law simply shows us how sinful we are."

In Christ, we are a new creation. Reigning over sin, addiction, sickness, stress and all earthly ills are fruits of the new nature that we have in Christ as it is written in Romans 5:17 -

"For if by the one man’s offense death reigned through the one, much more those who receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ.)"

This "death" that reigned through Adam's offense is not just a physical death. It is death preceded by its symptoms - all of the curses in Deuteronomy 28 and every earthly ill - acts of sin, sickness, stress, disease, foolish mistakes, depression, oppression, every ill that came as a result of Adam's sin. As the righteousness of God in Christ, we reign in life over all these things.

Romans 7:4 also shows us how we can produce a harvest of good deeds for God - only when we are dead to the Law and united with Christ!

4 "So, my dear brothers and sisters, this is the point: You died to the power of the law when you died with Christ. And now you are united with the one who was raised from the dead. As a result, we can produce a harvest of good deeds for God."

Remember 2 Corinthians 5:21
"For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us that we might become the righteousness of God in Him." Christ performed a perfect work in cleansing us of all our unrighteousnesses and giving us His own righteousness as a gift.

In Christ, we are made righteous apart from works. In Him, God sees us as 100% righteous. He sees us as Christ is (righteous,) even when we sin, but we do not continue to sin. Why? Because with His gift of righteousness comes no condemnation; there is no condemnation for all who are in Him (says Romans 8:1) and it is His "Neither do I condemn you" that makes us "go and sin no more." In Christ, under grace, you will not continue to sin.

Believe Right and you will Live Right!

Christianity EtcWhat Is God's Will And What Are His Works That We Must Work? - Olamide Obire by jiggaz(op): 6:02pm On May 04, 2017
Many people think: "Saved just by simply believing and not by doing God's will and His works? That is too cheap a gospel. Jesus Himself said in Matthew 7:21 “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven.""

This is the TRUTH. Without doing God's will, no one shall enter the kingdom of heaven.

But such people who quote this verse will never tell you what exactly the will of God is or what the works are that He wants us to do. At best, they say it is keeping the Law and doing good, but "the Law is not of faith" and "without faith it is impossible to please God." According to Galatians 5:4:-"For if you are trying to make yourselves right with God by keeping the law, you have been cut off from Christ! You have fallen away from God’s grace."

But do we really for one moment think that our heavenly Father would make His will and His work that He wants us to do that are so crucial to our salvation vague in any way? Certainly not!

So what is God's will? What are the works that God wants us to do? Some people asked our Saviour Jesus this question in John 6. No better answer or explanation of God's will and His works that we must do than that which comes from our Saviour Jesus Himself!

28 "Then they said to Him, “What shall we do, that we may work the works of God?” 29 "Jesus answered and said to them, “This is the work of God, that you believe in Him whom He sent."

Again, in the same John 6, Christ tells us plainly what God's will is:

39 "This is the will of the Father who sent Me, that of all He has given Me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up at the last day. 40 And this is the will of Him who sent Me, that everyone who sees the Son and believes in Him may have everlasting life; and I will raise him up at the last day.”

Believers, according to our Lord Jesus Christ, this is the work of God that we must do: believe in our Lord Jesus Christ.

This is God's will according to our Lord Jesus Christ: "that everyone who sees the Son and believes in Him may have everlasting life; and I will raise him up at the last day.”

For the New Covenant believer, believing in our Saviour Jesus Christ is obedience. When the believing is right, right living will follow. We GET to do God's work. Under the New covenant, there is only the obedience of faith, not the Law. The Law is not of faith and without faith, it is impossible to please God.

Our salvation in Christ is a finished work. For all who truly believe, there is nothing for us to do -from our being called to Christ (see John 6:44- Our Abba Father called us) to our bodily redemption (the Rapture) in Him; yet we do exploits because "it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me."

Believe Right and you will Live Right.

Christianity EtcGod's Grace Produces True Worship - Olamide Obire by jiggaz(op): 10:57am On May 04, 2017
God's grace produces true worship. You don't talk about your own achievements, your works, what you have done. You talk about what our Saviour Jesus has done.

Grace makes it hard for you to condemn your brother for having a speck in his eye, because your own eyes have been "unlogged" by the Lord to see that "that would be me if it wasn't for God's grace." Grace stops sin.

Like our Saviour Jesus Christ in Matthew 9:36, when you see the crowd confused and scattered away from the path of righteousness, you have compassion on them because you see sheep without a Shepherd:

"36 But when He saw the multitudes, He was moved with compassion for them, because they were weary and scattered, like sheep having no shepherd."

So instead of condemning God's beloved who are going astray and telling them to find their way back on their own with more rules and regulations (the Law) that cannot make any righteous in God's sight (Romans 3:20,) you point them to the Lord our Shepherd (Grace!) who leads us on the path of righteousness; the One that God sent not to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.

Grace makes you see that even our being called to believe Jesus is a precious gift from God, as it is written in John 6:44 "No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him; and I will raise him up at the last day." And there we were thinking that we decided to follow Jesus because of our morality, smarts and good sensesmiley

Grace causes you to do exploits to the glory of God, like Paul in 1 Corinthians 15:10-
"10 But by the grace of God I am what I am, and His grace toward me was not in vain; but I labored more abundantly than they all, yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me."

Grace makes us see that without Christ, we can do nothing. We see how much we need our Saviour and how blessed we are in Him.

This is God's undeserved, unmerited favour. None of me. All of Christ.

The Holy Spirit will teach you all things.

Believe Right and you will Live Right.
