Asking this because what if the parents are not in the country to do the physical affidavit. Would the E-affidavit be accepted for the eariler question I asked where an affidavit of Declaration of Age deposed by parent (father or mother) was requested

E-affidavit is the best. It has a barcode for easy verification. It has been proven to be without doubts, your parents don't need to be in same country physically. Just get their international passport or Voter's card. It requires an ID with the persons signature. So far so good, only Voter's card and international ID meets the requirement.

Please, make sure the signature on the affidavit and the one of the ID tallies.

I don't know you but I'd be guilty if I don't tell you this. Please and please, do the digital affidavit that has barcode to be scanned for verification. A lot of persons have been denied with the anolog stuff. It's difficult for them to verify it. A stitch in time saves nine.

Met a particular guy on the queue and at the entrance. He was putting on glasses and wearing a white shirt.

He applied for opportunity card 1 year ago but reapplied for another visa type this time around.

While inside, you also informed me about the written test.

Please I went for my interview in October and I am still waiting for a decision.

But now my DHL return envelope has expired as it it more than 3 months I purchased it, and the embassy will not be able to return my passport to me.,

and secondly my 15 months health insurance coverage is now remaining 11 months, though I have updated the start date to January 2026. Please what should I do? should I contact the embassy? please is there anyone with similar situation, your advice will be very helpful.

Hi, I share the same ordeal as you. Same October and my DHL tracking wasn't coming up since last week. I was really worried, I had to call DHL and they said they can't find any info using my tracking number. I still called back and a guy picked and told me that when the shipper (German Consulate) has made decisions, it will come up again.

This morning, I made a prayer that God should take the wheel, by exactly 1:30pm, a mail came through from the Consular Service, I checked my portal and realised that decision has been made.

After 4 hours, I got a message from DHL that my parcel is on the way. And the tracking number came back alive.

Just hang on, pray and believe God. Don't panic.

Let me break the silence with some good news

I’m happy to share that I finally received my visa, Decision was made on the 2nd January and i finally received my passport today January 8th.
My interview date was October 22nd, and after waiting patiently until now, it has finally come through.

This journey definitely had its ups and downs. Some people here already know about the back-and-forth and the challenges I faced along the way, but I’m truly grateful that it all worked out in the end. I want to sincerely thank everyone who supported, encouraged, and shared useful information during this process.

To everyone still waiting or preparing for their own visa, I wish you the very best of luck. Stay strong, your turn will come too.

Please, don't be too hard on yourself. I had my interview last week. My WAEC and one other document was laminated but the VO did not frown or make any negative remarks.

Although there has been speculations on the need for one not to laminate their documents, which I see the wrongs also. But for the ones you did in time past, it is assumed that you were not aware. Moving forward, do not laminate again and don't try to pill the one's that stick permanently, it wouldn't remove, rather it will ruin the certificate.

In summary, German Consulate does not frown at laminated documents. All the best in your endeavours.

On another note, this is getting worrisome. 3 months just for visa decision, and we were getting worked up for being under Preliminary Review for up to a month now. Do we not need to organise a prayer session for this as it stands?? I pray for a favourable outcome for you tho.

Hey Hey. I've been okay. So the first thing I did was to find my way to the city center and got a number with telekom and paid for a prepaid subscription. I then proceeded to open a Revolut bank account. I looked for appointment dates to register my anmeldung and couldn't find one close to me so I booked an appointment in another district. Went for the appointment and got my anmeldung in under 10 minutes. I recently got a job and realized that the DR Walter's health insurance does not provide you with an SVNR(social security number) so I had to register with a public health insurance(registered with TK) and government office sent me my SVNR. I currently need to switch from the opportunity visa to a Blue card so I'm running around looking for an appointment before my start date which is next week. Anyone who can help should please reach out.

I did not use a blocked account so I can't help with that.

As for accommodation, I had it all sorted out before I even got to Germany. The landlord has to put your name plate on your mailbox so you can get letters like your tax id, SVNR, insurance number, insurance card, deliveries, e.t.c

As for my job search, I was fortunate to get a job with the first company I interviewed with. I'm an iOS developer so the interview was first a HR interview, a 90 minutes live coding session and "meet the team". I got a job in 6 weeks of being here. If I could do it, you can as well.

I have gotten to the preliminary stage and have been asked to upload documents. I have about one week left. My primary school issued me a testimonial/certificate after I finished. But I have once read here that what is accepted is a primary school certificate issued by government at primary school education board. Please where is this board located in each state?

Also, I am no longer in the state where I did my primary school and everyone I have there don’t seem to know what to do. I have sworn an affidavit in court for the certificate my school issued. Please will it suffice? I need an urgent response.

Hello dear, although i am not Hannania but i can respond to this. a lot of persons used their Testimonials in place of School Leaving Certificate and it sufficed. I used my Testimonial and the VO in charge of my Document has asked me to submit my School Leaving Certificate. It was marked for correction on the portal 3 times. because i am in a different State, I had to ask my brother to help me get it yesterday. this morning, he went there and they issued it to him.

I will advise that you ask a close relation within the jurisdiction where you had your Primary School to help you get it. That is if you wrote the FSLC exam.

Again, kindly note that this OC journey is a journey of peculiarities, what works for me might be rejected for you. make sure you get everything right. All the best dear.

Significantly, there are no much difference between the three phase and the single phase Prepaid meter in terms of calibration.

However, the major difference is that the three-phase meters can take up more loads than the single phase counterpart. and also, as the name implies, the three phase meter is designed to have a three phase wire system. In the sense that when one phase goes bad, the use can easily change or switch to other phases, whereas, the single phase meters are not designed like that.

I'll advise you to ask anyone you can find in DE to issue you a house address, and inform the embassy of your intention to stay there before getting your place. If you're using a sponsorship letter, you'd better use the address of your sponsor

You don't book an appointment yet without. Getting reviewed. Upload all documents and the one you don't have , you can upload something there before they ask you to send for preliminary review.

You don't need to block anything now. Do so when they ask you to send your application. Coracle or Expatrio is best for block account

Since you have B.Eng, you can still get the opportunity card without doing the recognition from Nigeria. As long as your university is rated H+ on Anabin.

As I said, the electrical field is a regulated profession in Germany, and each state have their way of doing it. So using the link below, you can search your city then follow the steps. The idea is to beat time by started it now so you'll just finish up when you enter Germany in order to start working asap when you land a full time role.

Your residence permit will be tied to your city where you're going. So just choose any major city you wanna reside in like Hamburg, Berlin, Munich, Cologne, Frankfurt, Ausburg etc. then follow the process.

All resourceful people are softly skillful - have soft skills - but not all hard skilled people are resourceful - being competent and having the ability to complete a work in a particular career line shouldn't be mistaken and equated to resourcefulness.

Hard skills - they are skills that are job-related competencies and abilities that are necessary to complete work. They are often applicable to a certain career. Bitter truth most people do not know, or can't be discernible enough to relate with, is that the easiest way to remain stagnant in life and/or live unfulfilled life is being hard skills compliance - when you are not a genius in the specific lines of discipline you have acquired the hard skills. A genius shouldn't be mistaken and equated to someone that has acquired a hard skill(s) in a particular area of discipline.

Hard skills without soft skills cannot make you resourceful, but soft skills alone, which do not require all the time and money in this world to acquire, can make you resourceful - of course, soft skills plus grit. And all that you need to have an astronomical rise in life, regardless of where you are presently is resourcefulness.

The reason why the most successful politicians aren't necessarily those that have PhD in political science, or studied political science formally, is because they are resourceful. The same analogy is applicable in the medical, business, etc. world. I am not in any way discouraging anyone from acquiring hard skills - I have some myself - but, I knew earlier enough in life that they are best acquired for bragging rights and not for astronomical financial and occupational rising.

Aim to be resourceful instead of killing yourself to acquire a hard skill(s), especially when fully independent with a lot of responsibilities around you.

Electrical engineers and most especially technicians are in high demand in Germany. The most of where the jobs are happens to be in the blue collar field. Trust me they earn more than most white collar jobs. Just start the recognition process for the city you wanna go to online.

Please apply asap. You have at least 6 months before you can get an appointment. You can reach B1/B2 by then.

With these, your chances of landing a job is 💯. Besides, you can work part-time for 20hrs without touching your block account amount.

This is not a technical role, which means you have to interface in German. Without fluent or decent B2 German, honestly you won't find something. So learn the language, and maybe use your skills in another sector. I'm more interested in what you're doing currently because public administration does not have a clear career path

Hi Hannania, I have a B.Eng in Electrical Engineering. I'm also working in that field as I handle electrical contracts and metering. I recently passed my A2 Germany Language course from Goethe.

Current, I have been looking forward to the Opportunity Card stuff and I am trying to save up the €13000 as stated. Although it's not been easy but it's what I have made up my mind to.

Please, I'd love to know the possibilities of getting a job in Germany within the one year stipulated. And is it worth the investment?
