CrimeRe: What It Means When The Court Grants Bail In The Sum Of N20m Or Any Other Amount by JimIbanga: 8:50am On Apr 18, 2024
jUeLiZ:
WHAT IT MEANS WHEN THE COURT GRANTS BAIL IN THE SUM OF 20M, 50M, 30, 000 OR ANY OTHER AMOUNT.

You see generally bail is a contract/agreement between a defendant (commonly called an accused person) and the court that the defendant will have a temporary liberty (right to move freely) pending his trial and shall appear in court throughout the trial. The agreement is normally in written form and is called a “bail bond”

The bail bond normally stipulates that the defendant cannot be released until he brings a surety (someone who will assure the court that the defendant would always be in court). The terms may also include a requirement that the surety must be someone who has money worth certain amount, example 50M. THIS HOWEVER DOES NOT MEAN that the defendant SHALL pay the 50M as a condition for his release. No! What it means is that if the defendant jumps bail (fails to appear in court when required and as agreed upon in the bail bond without cogent reason), his surety shall forfeit the money. But if he appears in court all the time, the money remains his own.

By reason of the foregoing, whenever you hear that someone had been granted 10M bail, know that what the court means is that anyone who is to stand as a surety to the defendant must afford 10M and shall forfeit the 10M Naira if the defendant jumps bail. Simple!

When a court grants bail in a specific amount, like 20 million, 50 million, or even 30,000, it means that the accused person can be released from custody as long as they pay that amount of money to the court. This payment serves as a form of guarantee that the accused will return for their court appearances. If they fail to appear, they risk forfeiting the bail amount and possibly facing additional legal consequences. The specific amount set by the court depends on various factors, including the severity of the charges and the defendant's flight risk.
FamilyRe: I Am Suspecting My Wife Is Cheating. Should I Confront Her? by JimIbanga: 12:48pm On Sep 06, 2020
owo8184:
I am a young married man with 2 kids. The marriage is 6yrs now. Due to the situation of the country, we’ve not been staying together. I hustle in a University environment in one of the states in Southwest while she works as a freelance for some organizations in Lagos.

I normally come home (Lagos) on monthly basis. But during this lockdown, I have been in Lagos with my family.

Prior to our marriage, there is this guy she met when we had some misunderstanding. They started a date but later called it off when we settled. She didn’t give me the details but based on what I read on her phone back then, I knew they made out together. The said guy is now in Port Harcourt but I am aware he normally comes to Lagos.

Just today, I heard my wife giving someone a description of where they will meet somewhere in Agege (where she uses as her office). I was curious to know the person. I didn’t ask her because she would find a story to cover up. I found a way to check her phone and saw that her ex - the said guy was the one who called. May I say that we have fought over this guy several times even before and after our marriage. She won’t let this guy be in her past. She’s either calling the guy or the guy is calling her. This time, I chose not to raise my voice but monitor her closely. She left home for work today. I may not be able to give details but every surrounding clue indicates that my wife has a date today. She returned home and I found a way to check her whatsapp but alas she has deleted her chats with the guy.

Just this night again, she received a call from another man asking her when she would come to his office. She once told me that the man was asking her out. In all these, I want to believe my wife is up to something. Infidelity is the last I would accept in this marriage.

Should I confront her with all these observations? Please, I am confused.
Just follow these simple instructions and you will know what's going on really.

Download Whatscan from Google play store into YOUR phone.

Open it and click on Whatscan. A bar code will appear. Make sure your data is on and also cancel some ads that might appear as you are clicking on Whatscan.

Get HER phone and quickly go to her WhatsApp. Make sure her data is on, click on the 3 dots at the top and a drop down will appear, click on WhatsApp Web.

From her phone's WhatsApp web, scan the bar code that appeared in YOUR whatscan.

Immediately you scan it successfully, your phone will beep. The scanning won't take upto 5 seconds. Return her phone to the normal home page.

You only need to open your whatscan any time she is online and you will be reading all her current chats irrespective of where she's chatting from.

You can only screenshot those chats with her boyfriend as proof of what she's doing as soon as you see them else she might delete them as usual.

You don't really have to touch her phone any longer in order to see her chats.

If you want to see her chats on Facebook without touching her phone, I can also help you with that.

Hello Npower, thanks for your response to my first question.

I was physically verified and given a serial number and verification logo was displayed on my profile but along the line the verification logo disappeared and I have not been paid since December.

My status is blank and nothing is displaying on my npvn platform as the reason of my not being paid.

Please, kindly attend to my complaint. Thank you.

Distinguished members of this forum, I need help. How do I install Chrome browser on my phone, tecno Y6? I have tried it severally to install it from play store but all to no avail. I even transferred it from someone's phone but installation is the problem. I have enough space in my phone's memory and SD card. Other apps are easily installed on my phone but only chrome can't .

Please your suggestions are welcome. Thanks in advance.

I humbly wish to bring to the notice of the distinguished members of this forum in particular and the general public in all that Mr Utibe Etim of Etimate Global Service, has refunded my money. I got an alert this afternoon and by GOD's special Grace, we have resolved our differences. Thank you all for your concern.

JimIbanga:
I got to know Utibe Etim of Etimate Global Service on facebook in 2014 when I was applying for YOUWIN grants. Then he was parading himself as one that could help those applying for YOUWIN grants in their applications because according to him, he is a professional in business plan writing. I went on to apply without seeking his help because he was charging exorbitantly.

Since then I have been following him through his facebook page and I also subscribed to his blog newsletter.

In June 2016, I got to know about BOI/YES program 2nd phase application through his blog and as usual he offered to assist in writing the application. I called him personally to negotiate the price because I needed a touch of excellence in my boi/yes program application. He then reduced the price from #7,000.00 to #6,000.00. He gave me the account details to pay the money into. On the 1st of July, 2016, I paid in the money and sent him my details-names, CV, proposed business plan and Teller no. He called me to acknowledge receipt of the money and my details. Meanwhile, the closing date for boi/yes program application was on 17/07/2016. I called him the following week to ask him how far he's gone and he told me that he had not started that I shouldn't worry myself.

The arrangement was that he would send me the whole application after writing, I would edit it and finally submit it.

I called him again on 11/07/2016 and he said I should expect it on failingly on 15/07/2016. On 15/07/2016, I called him in the morning and he didn't pick. I called him repeatedly but all to no avail. I sent him numerous text messages and he never replied any. I sent him message through facebook and watsaap platforms, he never replied any.

Then on Sunday, 17/07/2016 which was the closing date, I used an unknown number to call him and he picked, I then identified myself and he said he's sorry that something happened. I asked him why he didn't pick nor return my calls and why he didn't reply my messages. He didn't give me any concrete answer. I told him to do the needful by refunding my money. He later called me on that same day, 17/07/2016, that BOI has extended the application dateline to 31/07/2016. I logged in and found out the same.

The following day, I called him to remind of my application. He said, that week won't pass. I kept calling him and he kept saying the same thing. That week finally passed and I didn't see anything.

Then the final week came, the same thing. He would be promising that the next two hours, he would send but at last, nothing. I spent so much money on calls and texts messages to him. Finally, on Saturday, 30/07/2016, he stopped picking my calls.

I actually had written down one or two things to submit should Utibe Etim fail me. So, on Sunday, 31/07/2016, being the closing date, I tried to log into boi/yesp website to submit what I wrote down myself but the site couldn't open. I tried repeatedly but all to no avail. I tried calling Utibe Etim that same Sunday in the evening, he still didn't pick my calls. I kept my cool and the following week I called him and he picked my called. I told him to refund my money and I gave him my account details. He promised to pay in the money into my account on 03/08/16. I waited, nothing happened. I called him the following day, he promised on Friday and Friday came and nothing happened. He kept on turning me like that till this moment that I am posting this.

Distinguished fellow Nairalanders, over to you. This said Utibe Etim is a member of this noble forum by name wisdombiz. I rest my case.
