1. ASSESSING THE VALUE CHAIN IN AGRICULTURE
There are multiple rungs and links in the agric value chain vis; Crop and Animal production, processing and export. The opportunities are huge and vast. We cannot exhaust nearly on this treatise.
Factors that make agriculture viable
• Everyone eats food and has need to utilize other derivatives from agricultural activities e.g. hides and skin, glue, wool, pharmaceuticals etc.
• Population; the growing population of humans gives an advantage to profitability in agriculture
• The tedium and careful effort required to engage agriculture makes few people willing to fully deploy. This creates an opportunity for many who would to involve
• Government fully gives support to agriculture, it is the only business that civil servants are allowed to engage legally
• The drive of government to diversify the economy coupled with grants and intervention programs in support of agriculture
• Increasing demand for Nigerian agro products
Opportunities in Agriculture include but not limited to:
i. Cropping e.g. Arable crop farming, cash crops, fruits and veggies
ii. Animal husbandry e.g. poultry, fish, snail, ruminant and bigger animals
iii. Processing; animal feed production and agro milling e.g. garri, starch, palm oil etc.
iv. Agricultural produce marketing and distribution
Challenges in Agricultural Practice
i. Lack of technical knowledge
ii. Non availability of operational space
iii. Finance
iv. Availability of skilled labor
v. Acts of nature
vi. Poor knowledge of marketing
However these challenges can be mitigated effectively

2. ACCESSSING AND BUILDING A COHESIVE VALUE CHAIN IN AGRICULTURE
Every agricultural produce can be transformed into a more valuable product through processing. One can decide on any or many to engage. For example cassava has over twenty derivatives that can be obtained like ethanol production, starch, animal feed production, pharmaceuticals etc.
Such chains can be found and operated in virtually all agricultural products both in crops and animals.

Investment Opportunities in Processing
• One can make money in processing. Processing garri from cassava can earn you quite some income. You can decide to buy cassava tubers from farmers and process into garri.
• Setting up your own processing plant to provide services to processors
• Same processing plants can be set up for oil palm, feed mills, production of yam flour
• In the animal sector, a lot of money can be made for animal processing. Deploying of kilns to dry fish for the huge market.
• Investments in hides and skin production are also viable

3. UNDERSTANDING MARKET NEEDS
Every agricultural produce is on high demand in Nigeria by reason of population and other needs. Each region in Nigeria has agro products that have comparative advantage that can be supplied to another region. Example palm oil is vast in the southern part and need in all parts, the north has lots it can deliver to other parts as well.

Investment opportunities
For export purposes, numerous multiple agricultural products are in demand by other countries.
• Yam is in demand by UK and USA among other goods.
• Sesame is in high demand in Japan
• Shea butter and black soap is in high demand in Kenya, Zambia, USA
• Dried Gall stones found in cows are in demand from Europe
Locally we can make a lot of money in agro marketing by simply locating crops’ areas of comparative advantage and taking them to areas where they are needed
• Ogbono from Taraba and Bayelsa states are in demand in the south of Nigeria
• Chilli pepper from the north is highly in demand down south
• Egusi from Nassarawa is highly sought after in the east and south west
• Garri from benue is cheaper and can be distributed nation wide
• Maize and soya bean is used for animal feeds and is growing in demand.

4. UNDERSTANDING FINANCING OPTIONS
The Nigerian government is seriously interested in and committed to funding agriculture. This has also attracted grants and funds from multilateral agencies. There several funding programs and intervention programs in the development banks
Finance options can be exploited from
• BOA
• BOI
• NIRSAL fund
• Microfinance banks
• Commercial banks (agro funds from CBN)
• Personal funds
• Family and friends
• Grants from multinational and multilateral organizations
There is need to understand how to qualify, apply and obtain these funds
To mitigate the inherent risks associated with using bank loans to run business even agro business one has to:
• Conduct feasibility on any and every venture
• Do a comprehensive business plan
• Seek expert advice from experienced persons and institutions like IITA, NIFOR, HIHORT etc
• Endeavor to be on ground to supervise activities of workers.
• Be careful at the choice of staff

Forty represent life and foresight of growth.

Lies! Wike was the minister when the syllabus was approved. Even if the minister was a Muslim, what of the Director that was in charge of the whole project, and the president who had the final say?
Answer my question, why after five years of approving the syllabus then FFK, CAN and the rest of you hypocrites have to bring it up to Blackmail PMB, and the Muslim population? Painting it as if the syllabus was just created by Adamu Adamu and approved by PMB?
For every Christian student in a Muslim dominated school without CRK teacher there is another Muslim student in another equally Christian dominated school without a CRK teacher.
So why the blackmail as if there IRK teachers in every school ready to find Christian students without teachers and punch on them?
This your hypocrisy only makes you all appear stupid, intolerant and biased.
If you don't want your religion be taught in school then ask for it to be scrapped! But allow those who want to teach and learn their religion to do it.

That a Christian, a Pastor or even the Pope recommends or passes a bill doesn't mean All is Fine. He/She may simply be acting under Influence. Now the word influence is used broadly. Acting under the influence of Ignorance or a Mis-Interpretation/Misunderstanding of Events is the worst of Influences. Foresight is Key! Some of these So called Christian Policy makers come to meetings to talk a 5-year plan with people armed with a 100 years detailed blue print. Somewhere in-between...they sure can squeeze in your short sighted 5-year plan. No Hassles. You were on the look out for Overt acts...They chose Covert acts....we couldn't tell a difference because we lacked foresight.

For your information, just yesterday, a woman said that she registered to write NAPTEP exams. As soon as IRS exam was through, they waited for CRK, and that was the end. CRK paper never came. Yet she registered for the Subject.

Right thoughts. It is not Arabic that is the problem, it is the motive of the people who are in charge of our Educational System that is the problem. CRK is tucked away in Civil Studies. Then they made the Study of either French or Arabic compulsory. So, in Schools where there are no French Teachers, you have to take Arabic. A balanced setting would have been French, Arabic or Hebrew. Remember, a time was when they decreed (Isaiah 10:1) that Western Schools should study Igbo and Hausa, Eastern Schools should study Yoruba and Hausa while Northern Schools should study Yoruba and Igbo. The obedient West and East quickly hired the needed teachers. The North said they could not get Igbo and Yoruba Teachers. The motive was that after a generation all adults in West, East and North would speak Hausa. It would then be easy to declare HAUSA as our LINGUA FRANCA.
So, you can imagine a situation where in ten years time every adult in Nigeria would speak Arabic. It is not easy to learn English without picking English Culture. The Global Goal is to Islamize the Western Hemisphere, but Arabinized Africa, starting from Nigeria.
I could give you 40 "Dummies" they sold us which were illmotivated. For starters, NYSC, where Aquila met Priscilla, was not for National Unity, but to get cheap Graduate Labour for the North. They said Railway System is too difficult to construct and maintain: but if we had a working Railway System what will become of the over 500 Northern Trailers and Tankers that you see in Ogere.
2 Chronicles 7:14, each time they come with a new policy/decree, I "seek the LORD'S face" to know the intention and motive. I know if you ask the LORD, He will reveal their motive on Arabic Studies. Right now, CRK is not on the WAEC TIME TABLE for all KWARA Schools.

Keep on dreaming, I offered CRK throughout my primary and junior secondary school education in Benue state against my wish. The OP complained of Niger state without doing research on other christian states. Other muslim students like I were being forced to offer CRK in christian dominated states too.

Do you have a documented evidence of this your claim?

Going through the points raised by the Op, the main issue is that in some northern states like Niger (where there aren't enough CRK teachers), Christian students have on some occasions been forced to learn IRK.

I'm not too sure I understand how separating CRK and IRK is supposed to solve the above problem.

Yes it will help so that what happened in Niger state will not happen in other parts of the country. With the separation, the students now have choices legally.
