This is what pops up when I put my NIN to start. Could it be network issues?

You can try again at night, midnight to be precise, and from my experience please make sure the passport photograph meets their standard, you can check it out on their website even before you begin your registration,to avoid been stuck at any stage.

😁😁😁😁😁 She wants to chop on top your head.

Visit the NIS website, input your NIN and start, make sure all informations are correct,to avoid having issues at any point in time. Download the needed the documents, and print them.

Get them together and head to their office on the day of capturing, meet the front desk officer, and tell him/her you came for capturing, the will direct you to the office your file will be taken and verified.

Please make sure to go with the originals (i.e as it was issued to by any of the government agency) birth certificate or Attestation,Local Government of origin,NIN slip, and the printed of your payment receipt, Acknowledgement slip and appointment Slip to avoid going twice to their office.

I wish you luck.

Thanks for this thread. I'm thinking towards this line. When I went to the Nigerian immigration office in my state capital, a lady I met told me

5 years is 80k
10 years is 150k

She said as at last month before September 1st
it cost 60k for 5 years
and 10 years is 100k

Follow the normal route, which is Do it yourself, and go with the originals of your local government of origin, birth Certificate or Age declaration from National population council, your application form and appointment Slip, that's all.

Tell them you came for capturing, that is after paying online and your application vetted online, submit those forms and wait for you to be captured, when you are called.

Cost of the five years is 50,000 naira + vat and other charges not exceeding three thousand and ten years should be 100,000 + charges and vat.

I am Team Do it yourself!

Current status of my own application.

They are all the same but APC is just another serial killer party that people of Edo needs to run away from ...

That party has done more harm than good to the Nigeria people.

It has never been this worst ☠️

I am happy you know is the worst, therefore; the party shouldn't be considered an option.

Thanks for the information and I never taught about point one made

I was just considering St Kitts and Nevis without thinking about the disadvantages

Thanks once again

You are welcome, same till I started researching about each of them, was carried away initially because St. Kitts has more visa free countries.

By ticking my boxes, and all that, Grenada it is for me.

Considering other advantages that is helpful to me.

This is one topic I have not be able to find in nairaland so I decide to create it.

Which would you advise?

Note that the following countries have golden visa:

Portugal (€500,000 investment)
Hungary (€250,000 investment)
Greece (€250,000 investment)

You will be issue 3 to 5 years Residence permit which is renewable on expiration or apply for permanent residence which can lead to citizenship

Citizenship by investment

The following countries offer it:

St Kitts and Nevis ($280,000 idonation and haves access to 157 countries including US,UK and Canada)

Antigua and Barbuda ($220,000 donation and access to 151 countries)

Dominical ($200,000 donation and have access to 147 countries)

St Lucia ($200,000 donation and have access to 150 countries)

Grenada ($210 donation and have access to 149 countries)

Which would you recommend and why?

I will always choose Grenada anytime, any day.

Reasons are;

πŸ“ŒIt's one of the safest Island in the Carribbean, and hurricane occurrence is less compared to other islands.

πŸ“ŒI have a chance of having a business in the USA with the E-2 visa agreement between both countries.

πŸ“ŒI have the chance to travel to China for business, without a visa, other Carribbean islands don't enjoy such, and it will boost my importation Business back home .

πŸ“ŒCheaper than St. Kitts that has more visa free countries in the Carribbean, and others. Etc

Ok, I applied since 26th of August and I'm yet to get the approval mail. My biometrics is 24th of this month (next week)

I don't know if I can go without receiving the mail

From experience, you can only book appointment after your application has been approved, check your status again,on the website and click on resume application/status and see if there will be a difference status.

It's no surprise that the officer(s) showed no regard to you. You got first insight into how inhumane officers (not all officers) of Nigeria Immigration Service can be towards do-it-yourself Nigerian passport applicants.
You don't need to book an appointment again. Go back there and you will be captured. Please just make sure all the required documents are in order. Best wishes!
If I may ask, which Passport Office the inhuman treatment meted out to you?

Okay, thank you sir. Exception of the ceased documents,(still in their possession) the local government certificate in the (original format is available now).

Awka, Anambra State.

Officers name can be mentioned too. Wish the was a spy camera to capture things life.

ekitimanalways Good afternoon sir,and thank you for your inputs.

Please sir,I want to ask a question,I was meant to capture on 10th but my application was rejected because the local government of origin certificate was not available(original format),and the version I downloaded online was rejected too, because it was not original,I had to ask for the original to be couriered to me,it even led to the officers seizing my documents with threats of arrest,I found out the were pissed off because it was a DIY application, and one was even saying that I think I am wise abi?

Now that my appointment date has passed, can I reschedule a new appointment date? If yes,how do I go about it,if no can I go on and capture since all required documents are complete.

Ps: I found out I can't reschedule my appointment for my centre, can I go on and capture?

Properties / Anambra State Land Grabbers by jjbest123(m): 6:53am On Aug 04
If the rampant land grabbing in Anambra State is not urgently addressed, it could spiral out of control, creating a situation that no government can manage, stakeholders in the state have warned.

According to landlords and land owners both at family and community levels, these land grabbers, often posing under false pretenses, exploit legal ambiguities and corrupt networks to unlawfully seize land from rightful owners. The growing menace, they note, threatens to undermine property rights, destabilise communities and erode public trust in governance. As stakeholders’ cries reach a crescendo, they warn that the unchecked actions of these individuals could lead to a loss of faith in the legal system and create an atmosphere of fear and insecurity among landowners.

They advise that state authorities take decisive action, enforce strict regulations and hold offenders accountable to prevent the issue from becoming an insurmountable crisis.

A former legislator in Anambra State, Mr Anthony Okafor insisted that protecting the rights of citizens and maintaining social order must be a top priority to ensure the long-term stability and prosperity of the state.

He revealed that land in some communities in the state was becoming a scarce commodity, adding that so many powerful people were swooping on people’s land without the government checking the trend. Okafor urged the state Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, to act on the findings of any White Paper resulting from panels of inquiry established by the state government. These inquiries were set up to investigate land grabbing activities that have reportedly led to loss of life and property destruction in various parts of the state. Addressing the ongoing communal conflicts in the state, Okafor called on the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission to release the findings of any investigations into land issues in Anambra State. He emphasized that making these reports public could help facilitate resolutions between the disputing communities and promote peace. He observed that certain influential individuals, posing as members of the Land Management Committee in the state, exploit this position to manipulate members of conflicting communities. These individuals use the situation to extort and illegally seize land, taking advantage of the disputes for their own gain.

Okafor stated that the government should build more roads in the rural areas as a way of opening the areas to attract the working class. He added that if there are roads, companies will be located in the areas and help to stem the land crises in crisis-prone areas.

Mrs Chinwe Okonkwo, an estate agent who hails from Anambra State, noted that the need for the government to intervene on these land crises is very urgent because when big companies begin to focus on the areas, the crises that will envelop the area will be much. According to her, most of the residents are living in their family house while in the major cities those who live in rented apartments suffer the problem.

According to Mr. David Obodoeze, a property developer, while a challenging economy presents obstacles, it also offers opportunities for growth and innovation in the real estate industry. This is why the Governor should even delve into the disputed land and cite serious development industries there. β€œEmbrace these changes by analysing the market, enhancing your digital presence, diversifying services, and focusing on client relationships. By doing so all these land owners who are in crises will find a way to settle without the Government hearing about it. By making these strategic adaptations in your daily business practices, the governor will position not only to survive but to use the way and settle communal crises in the state.

Stay resilient, stay informed, and remain flexible in your approach. When other state governors are backing away because of political leanings, you will be making progress and stay on course. Embrace these changes, and let them fuel your success in the dynamic world of real estate,” he asserted.
