A prisoner of war is a person partaking in the war who surrendered and was arrested. Normally, if a person surrenders, the laws of war is that such a person should not be killed but rather taken in as a prisoner. That is where the term "prisoner of war" comes from

Surrendering is not the prequisite of stopping any fighting especially in battles without preset/agreed rules by those involved, should that be the case, an umpire must be there to observed and ensure compliance.. this happens mostly in contest

Which one is bbc singing "executing prisoners of war" again? In battle field? The questions is.. were these soldiers executed after taken into prisons/custody?
