KaptainAfrika: If you are going for a conference in the US:
1. It should be relevant to your field.
2. Conferences that are "gbam" usually have financial payments attached.
3. Conferences that are "gbam" are usually held by Internationally recognized bodies e.g. IEEE.
4. I.M.H.O, Conferences that are 1-2 days, raise red flags; again my I.M.H.O
5. Don't pay for a conference until you get your visa - paying for a conference before applying for a visa, may or may not make a difference, but to save your money, get the visa first.
6. It is an added plus, if your company has had people go for the same conference, and return as at when due.
7. Know why the conference is relevant to you, and how it would aid your career growth.
8. Attending similar conferences, in other places, can be a plus.
9. If it is self-sponsored, your salary and/or other income should reflect that you can afford this - if it is sponsored by your company, your salary and/or income should reflect that you can sustain yourself in the US. Another important factor, may be the length of time, you have worked for the company.
Cheers. Thanks... Much useful |

Abdulrahmon68: Please I need response this Your issue needs response from someone with technical experience to related or similar case. Just wait and keep reminding at each page so it won't scroll off due to incoming chats... Most of us who haven't responded seeing your request, perhaps have no idea on how to improvise... Hopefully, we will get our dream of going to America for education... |

Please house, I really wanna ask about the chance of getting visa and obtained financial aid... A friend told me that one can be denied. Visa by consular if he is granted financial aid (loan) by proposed school.... According to him, consular accept assistanceship, which gives u more ground to get visa, since it is certain ur tuition fee is covered and won't be liability to their system.. Abeg, how factual is this view? |

As at the Completion of ur MSA program, u can seat for CPA exam over dear... Thereby, becoming a member of AICPA - America Institute of certified public Accountants ... PortableGlo: Can somone paying for your trip mean the same as 'sponsor'... am kinda confused here bcus while filling d D-160, i fill my mum is paying for my trip but my mum don't have the expected amount i need in her account nd my uncle decided to give me his statement of account.
My question is should I tell the VO my uncle is my sponsor or my mum... pls help. Please avert conflict of information, especially when it comes to finance... This is very sensitive... I will advise u do put ur uncle... Most pple who have gotten their visa, use someone. SOA with bouyant account as their sponsor just for documentation, whereas all expenditure are done by them... Let's be careful along the sensitive requirements |

JoeBazz: Hello house...I got the below message via email from Eastern Illinois university:
I am currently reviewing your application to the MS in Cybersecurity – please know that your transcripts cannot be authenticated. As such, your application will not be moved forward.
Accordingly, I am advising you to mail us an official transcripts certified by the Office of the Federal Ministry of Education in your home country in Nigeria. You have also the option to have your transcripts certified by the Education USA Office in Nigeria. The Education USA is located at the following address in Nigeria:
U.S. Consulate Lagos
EducationUSA Advising Center
Public Affairs Section
2 Walter Carrington Crescent Victoria Island Lagos Nigeria
What do you think I should do in this situation? Ensure you use one consolidated account... It's not advisable to use a business account, rather a private account... Because Embassy prefers private savings rather business account... The later can only be use if you are given scholarship by a business/corporate entity |

Please, how long does it take for someone to get a date for interview after applying for visa?
Someone told me to contact any effective and reliable traveling agencies, as they can get for me an interview date within a short time... Also, they can give huge edge of getting visa? How true is this my fellow Narialanders? |

izeekss: From the statement you made that ''you are making moves'', I guess you have not been admitted yet.
I have few questions for you.
a. Have you written any standardize test? b. Do you have good score to get funding? (Even though funding are mostly available in Fall) c. Have you evaluated your transcripts?
The month of ''May'' from now is less than 3 months, which makes it a bit hard considering the time frame. The main thing is getting admitted to your school of choice first before considering embassy.
For now I will advice you apply and get admission first before worrying about the embassy. Quite a few schools still have summer application open for now. You can apply to the embassy even within 30 days to resumption, but applying two months ahead gives you enough time to prepare & even reapply should you be denied on your first attempt. There is no rule of thumb that it must be 2 months before resumption.
Follow this:
1. Search for schools that offers your choice of course and suit your career goal. 2. Check their admission requirement. 3. Apply to atleast 2, 3 or more. ( spread your risk) 4. If admitted. Order for your I20 form. 5. Fill your form DS 160 accurately and correctly. 6. Pay SEVIS fee atleast 3 days before going to the embassy for interview. 7. Pay Visa fee. 8. Prepare very well for your interview. Go to the embassy with these documents or more as it apply to you.
1. Appointment letter 2. Nonimmigrant Visa - Confirmation Page (DS-160) 3. Visa fee receipt (GTB) 4. Original I-20 5. SEVIS I-901 payment confirmation 6. International passport 7. Birth certificate 8. (1) 2X2 passport 9. Diploma or degree Cert. 10. Standardized test scores (if applicable) 11. Admission letter.
9. Get your Visa and then travel within 30 days before the resumption date on your I20
This is my little advice. I think it will be better if you focus on fall admission session. It all depends on you.
I believe the gurus will add or remove from it. Gracias! Very much useful |

Please friends, how can I get personal copy of official transcript from my school. My school refused to give me personal copy of my official transcript, i was told i can only be given student copy wiich will be stamped "Not for official use" ... This is a real challenge to me. I planned applying for 3 schools in us for Masters programme, the officer in charge told me sending official transcript to each of the schools will cost me 15,000, i.e a total of 45,000
But i noticed some persons do have personal copies of their respective official transcript, thus can duplicate and send to many proposed school of their choice.. Please, how do I get my personal of official transcript ? Very urgent my people... |
