Even Mali no be beans.
Icon4s:
If u ask me this qualifying series is tougher than the group stage of the U17 WC.

I don't know how WAFU came to accept this devilish arrangement.

How can Nigeria and Ghana, two World giants at this stage have to now be battling for one spot amongst other descent sides like CIV and Burkina Faso. This is devilish.

So who are those that will play the African qualifiers from other zones? Likes of Malawi, Tanzania, South Africa and the likes? Nonsense!

But we hope that the country is our own Nigeria.

safarigirl:
it doesn't matter what they do. Whichever team that qualifies from Southern and Northern Africa will still crash and burn to West Africa

If we get our house in order we will almost always qualify for the World Cup regardless. But, yes, Africa's best talents are in West Africa. The region deserves more slots. The regions should get more slots commensurate with our contribution at the world stage for the last past decade at least.

gamaliel9:
Thats the price that was paid for Issa Hayatou to be defeated...very strange deals ie reformating the qualification to give the regions more chance in world cup qualifiers....more shocking groupings are coming

There are 7 countries in this zone.

Niger, Togo and Ghana make up group A
Nigeria, Burkina Faso, Ivory Coast and Benin are in Group B. Benin disqualified now.

Two teams will emerge from each group to the semis. We have 2 finalists and ONLY THE WINNER makes it to the African U17 Championship.

By Editor - September 2, 2018

Former Ranger Int’l striker Rasak Adegbite and other two Nigerians who currently play for CD Primeiro De Agosto in the Angolan Top League as set for the podium to be crowned Champions if they can secure a win in the team’s last league match at home to Quharo Lobango FC.

On the sort of emotions he is feeling after being able to come this close to the trophy, Rasak said, “It is a special feeling for me because it is my first time of being close to winning the league with CD Primeiro De Agosto but anything short of a win on Sunday kills my dreams so we can’t afford to let our fans down.”

The former Sunshine Star of Akure Striker, concluded by saying he and his colleagues would not have enough time to celebrate as there attention would switch Immediately after the match to their CAF Champions League Quaterfinal and the team is focused on winning a double this season.

His time in the GWG will come.

charlesemeka85:
Emmanuel Bonaventure Dennis is the man on fire in Belgium after he was named for the second straight week in the Team of the Week in Belgium.

Dennis scored his second goal in as many weeks for champions Club Brugge to shoot to the top of the standings.

“Dennis was again the whirlwind we saw at the start of last season,” commented Voetbalkrant after his performance in a comfortable 5-2 win at Zulte-Waregem.

Bonaventure Dennis shoots Club Brugge top

The little known Nigeria forward has taken his chances at Club Brugge in the absence of the club’s more established strikers.

Curiously, the youngster continues to be overlooked by Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr despite his claims of having an extensive scouting network across Europe.

We need to look at their present continuous performance. One thing we know for sure is both Obi and Onazi have not been particularly impressive lately in the GWG. We cannot be too sure that Billing will do better in the GWG. But does he deserve a look in? Yes. He looks better. We should make a move for him, it could pay off eventually. However, there is still no guarantee.

andrew444:
I will not say much,I have already give my opinion.

At billing age obi was balling at inter Milan even onazi balling at lazio

I will only pick billing because those 2 have not been playing well for the eagles.

But I know Nigerians won't agree with my opinion, once player na oyinbo na automatically good for Nigerians eye.

Anyway at least the Sareen Bazee noise has been slowed down on this thread.

Very good point.. These players have to be careful when making statements. And the type of press can influence what they say. We should be aware of this which is why we need to be tactful. They have two nationalities for God sake. Expecting they should love Nigeria exclusively is not logical. Even MANY Nigerians (with only one nationality) are not necessarily patriotic. Ask Nigerians in a visa interview that they should give up their nationality as a requirement to get a visa to America (for example), they will deny Nigeria instantly. Who don't like opportunities. MANY of these players weigh their chances before pitching tents with one nation.

ChrisKels:
Were u expecting him to say otherwise to a national radio/TV while on national assignment? The most interesting thing is that he leaves his options open and according to him, could be playing for any of the two nations soon. Now, the qstn is "which of the two nations wants him the most?“

lol.. maybe we have different measurement of talent. some may be looking at finesse alone, passing range etc.
Even Usman Muhammed is a SPECIAL TALENT grin
komekn:
A youth player plays his first season of senior football in the Championship for Hull gets accolades as the best RB arguably he then goes to Torino and in no time is a starter.

What should we then call Aina, SUPER INCREDIBLE TALENT.huhhuh
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by JoebieII: 5:58am On Sep 03, 2018
It's relative sir. Someone may see his performance in the Atletico friendly as something. Or his showing in the little opportunity he got at club level as something.. but relatively speaking those can be said to be nothing. If I may ask, did you watch the Atletico friendly? It was just a mere friendly but any scout that haven't seen Nwakali play prior to the game will start to take special note of the boy. They would more than likely start to monitor his progress at club level. But sometimes in football, MAYBE in rare cases, some scouts will go by their gut feeling in a considerable short time.

komekn:
Nwakali has done ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to justify a call up to the SE.

Look at players who have played in the championship and lower and performed, do you see any descending to the depths of anonymity and failure to go and play essentially U23's football as Nwakali has in Porto B.

That's demotion in real terms so after demotion a player is rewarded with national team call up.

Putting all biased sentiment aside is that not ABSURD for goodness sake.

SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by JoebieII: 9:03pm On Sep 02, 2018
I said he will come good, I didn't say he will be the best of the lot eventually. I don't sincerely think Nwakali will fade away, but clearly they are better talents out there.

komekn:
That's an assumption based on what huh

Talent is a very fluid it's not a permanent feature the idea someone is special is also about the present continous performance. It's not underpinned with past performances.

Every day new talents are being discovered and for those that have been static i.e. have not progressed. They get overtaken and forgotten.

SPECAIL Talent must be proven in the HERE and NOW not assumed. As stands Kelechi is yesterday's news not today's, he is past special talent. Indeed he may become special but right now he is definitely not. SPECAIL Talent at age 20 years old does not play youth football in a B team.

Consider that the period when Kelechi was being hailed as a special talent and winning international accolades in 2015.

A very unknown Ademola Lookman was playing Sunday football not even non league in 2014 got signed by Charlton Athletic in same year . He was not even called SPECAIL TALENT at least the NFF esteemed and all knowing.g scouting crew didn't think so. By 2015 he was playing in the Championship and winning MOTM awards but was not still called SPECAIL TALENT.

Today where is Ademola Lookman and where is Nwakali huh ❓ And where has the special talent carried him too. Bobby Adekanya was sold to Barcelona and by PSV he is now at Liverpool fc arguably the most outstanding player in thier U23 yet he is not called SPECAIL TALENT. Seyi Ojo bought for £1.8 million at age 14 from MK Dons was not called SPECAIL TALENT.

This whole issue is an insult to those players who are playing senior football and making good progress in thier clubs. It strengthens the claims of corruption and favouritism within the NFF towards certain players.

It's becoming too obvious that MERIT is not the over riding consideration in player selection for the SE.

TheSuperNerd:
It is not emotion at all. It is a simple response to how quick you are to jump in as Solanke's attorney just for a simple truth being said of his inactivity at Liverpool while you stayed mostly silent when K Nwakali was being derided by some here. Especially by Southgate. If you wanna play "show some love" for our players... Then do it for all. Simple.
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by JoebieII: 7:54pm On Sep 02, 2018
oga, we can't go on like this. you are too emotional, telling me park well etc.. please please please.. lets drop this matter.

TheSuperNerd:
Ohhh no... I am only reminding us that at 18, a Nigerian was already taking the EPL by storm even with cameos to his name AT A BIG CLUB TOO. So your excuse of Solanke being in a big club in th EPL as an achievement does not hold water... At all.
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by JoebieII: 7:52pm On Sep 02, 2018
He has done nothing to merit a call up is not tearing the player down.. it's a relative statement. compared to others. you have made your points which are cogent as well.

TheSuperNerd:
Exactly... smiley just as saying K.Nwakali has done nothing when that is an outright lie.
K.Nwakali was being watered down and you said nothing. You tag all that was said salient points? Lol...
And when Comodo offers simple truth about Solanke's, you jump in and wanna play silent defender reminding us that both are Nigerians. Abegi Joebie just park well.

I guess Rohr must be "silly" to invite a player who has done "nothing" for a crucial game where 3points is needed to get our Afcon qualifiers campaign back in track. Yeah choice of words and also timing of it says it all.
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by JoebieII: 7:47pm On Sep 02, 2018
Iheanacho matter again hahaha..

please I said there are only a few Nigerians, IF ANY, with a better record at 20. Don't stress it.. nothing to fight about

TheSuperNerd:
Iheanacho was 18 going on 19 and had already started makinghis mark in the EPL at another big giant in Man City. Nacho still boasts a good record while at City. What has Solanke done in the EPL? That is the problem. And now he is bloody inactive.
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by JoebieII: 7:43pm On Sep 02, 2018
The way some people they argue here you go think say dem dey pay them money.. i no fit ki myself for player matter.. kai see emotions!
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by JoebieII: 7:41pm On Sep 02, 2018
The choice of words says it all.

TheSuperNerd:
We are not talking youth record. Solanke has an U-20 golden ball and world title well so does Nwakali at U-17 level. And he is striker... He is supposed to have more goals naa is he not? Lol...

Fact is we are talking about their progress so far and current situation... K.Nwakali is getting games in a league that is decent. While Solanke is in one of the biggest sides on Earth in arguably the world's best league (although we all can agree La liga is number 1) and he is being constantly left out of matchday squads. Please how is his inactive state better than a functional and super active Nwakali at Porto B?

I believe both are fantastic talents but the truth remains that one is playing and has the attention of his national team right now while the other is still languishing on the outskirts of Liverpool matchday squads and still relying on his youth football records.

Abeg, this is how it is. No colorings.
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by JoebieII: 7:40pm On Sep 02, 2018
What opportunities? To feature for Liverpool in the Premier League is a big achievement for his age. He seized his opportunity with both hands playing in the U20 WC. He is only 20 just like Nwakali. There are only a few (if any) Nigerians out there of the same age with a better record.

comodo:
Live dog & dead lion which one I go take. I'd rather take live dog. Upon all d tutorials & handouts & opportunities wey de solanke don get from 4 years reach now, him dey where him dey. U think say if Nwakali get such him for Neva blow. Abeg leave refuse for lawama. Lizard wey go be male, we dey know am from pikin.
