Hello all.
Highly impressed with the wealth of knowledge and help received from this thread and it's fast becoming an addiction for me as I get to read it everyday. I was delayed last year and just requested for the GCMS file which is attached. Some of the things written there were discovered not to be true.
1. No record married: I included my marriage certificate, my husband also wrote a consent letter and I indicate in the CIC form that I am married.
2. Diploma in metallurgical & materials engineering: I included my Certificate and transcripts which indicated I had a degree in met & mat and not diploma. I also indicated this in the form.
3. Wishes to enrol in a college degree in a post -diploma in PM: I was admitted for PGD in PM. Not sure if these means the same tho.
4. Currently works as a sales rep: this was in the past. I indicated I was managing my personal business with evidence.
I have however tackled some of the issues stated while I intend explaining the rest with a strong SOP.
Please all I need your help on how best I can tackle them on these points.

I guess this is your first delay (or if second maybe a different app route from first). It has become obvious with the volume of app from Nigeria, many of the applications are not properly assessed. Case files can be used as legal evidence (not for TRV) and you can imagine the grammatical error most of them carry-indeed most assessment are done in a haste. On the the details of yours, they acknowledged that you're married. The "no record" is for the Foss check (previous refusal). PURPOSE is a big deal for all TRVs. For students, these VOs don't care if they return or not cos they know that 90% of applicants may not return. I once chatted with a VO in church and she said to me, the first thing they verify is PURPOSE, the rest is icing on the cake. I suggest you go for a prog that clearly relates to your current line of business cos one that relates to your previous educational background may not pass the test. Except by chance, submitting the same facts even with a better SOP may not give a positive result. SOP is just for matters that are not quite clear. I know a number of students who got their visas without SOP.

@Dbnagato, I don't know where you got that link or maybe you just want to add to Jackson 755 current issue. @Jackson 755, your ability to pay attention to details matters a lot when it comes to immigration matters. Someone posted earlier that it cost CAD 5 to apply for a case file and another person is sending you a link with $46 fee and you cannot even ask questions. I got married august last year and finally my husband got a study visa to trebas institute toronto after he was denied twice. He left Nigeria September. We actually used a lawyer because he helped my husband get his visa. I am so devastated @ the moment, coz I waited for two months and spent so much money using the lawyers. Please I need the gurus in the house to advice me, I beg you guys. I was denied based on travel history,family ties in Canada and in country of residence,length of proposed stay and financial status. My dad wrote a letter that he was going to sponsor me and I used his statement of account. He had over 7million in his account. I really don't know if that affected the visa because am married. I really don't know what went wrong. 1)Can I apply for visitation first, then work permit later?? 2)Also do I have to wait for 30 days to apply again?? I understand how you feel cos my wife is currently going through the same thing. I could tell you a ton of things that possibly went wrong but just to rule out doubts as these files are processed on a case-by-case basis, I strongly recommend you apply for your case file before you do anything further. Since your husband is already in Canada, he can apply for it. I am more than happy to share ideas/experience with you guys.

I went through your post and thought I should share this with you and anyone here that might be in same situation. I used to be regular here back in 2012 before I travelled. Concerning your app, I doubt if anyone exist that would say your documents didn't make a good app but the thing with their refusal letter is that its not detailed enough. It happened to my wife, she was denied solely on travel history but I was advised by a consultant here to request for her case note from CIC which I did, and to my greatest surprise their main reason for denial had to do with finance which was not even ticked on the refusal letter. Sometimes it might happen that when you're trying to repackage based on the reasons on the refusal letter, you might still miss the main reason.
Therefore I suggest that if you have the time and have someone in Canada (cos you can't do it from Nigeria) to request for the case files for the two app, do it. You have to fill out a consent form for the person to do it on your behalf and cic will release your case file within 30 calendar days. Each request cost CAD 5 and I suggest you request for the two apps. It's a very detailed note that states all the reasons and consideration the VO made for his decision. Compare both (I bet there must be something common) and that might be a good place to start repackaging.

@creamygirl, there's nothing u'll submit to cdhc dt will satisfy them of one's coming back here after studies, many will talk about marriage, landed properties, job n so on but i've seen cases of pple submiting loads of those docs n stil get refused wit 'returning back' as part of d reason, n there are also cases of pple not employed, married n no landed properties included esp those going for undergrad prog n they got dr visas. Like many will say, cases are considered individually, even if someone posts all d doc he/she used in securing a visa, n someone else submits exactly d same, it may not work out, cos d 2 may not be of d same age, may not have d same academic standing, may have diff living expense, also may not have d same continuity in educational pursuit n so on.
Finally i'm yet to see a case of one denied solely on d grounds of not returning back, cos most times it usually 'funds' n maybe 'bona fide' being ticked wit 'returning back'. So i feel pple should worry less of ties n more on d more on d others

@snuteria, some issues arose wit my not being able to resume my prog in sept, i'm taking my time to gradually sort it out. My app is still wit Cdhc. I'm looking forward to next yr

@vic4vi, i feel u worry more about things that are secondary to you at this moment, climate, job prospect n so on. I think you should be more concerned about securing an Msc biochem admission which is quite tough since its research based n next ur visa to leave the country when you get there you can relocate to anywhere that suites you

@SB, Not very sure but i guess there should be a no of sch in canada that offer msc comp sci as taught/thesis based without requiring you to identify a supervisor, but if ur sure there's none and you have a passion for research, then you should understand the following,
1. Research based progs in Canada makes you look more like an employee than a student so you should see your self searching for a job ATM.
2. You don't have to wait till app portals are opened before contacting a researcher as most of the progs have multiple start dates. Some arrangements with supervisors may take up to a yr or even 2 depending on how attractive ur CV looks. Mind you, 90% of researchers are looking for students wit previous hands-on experience wit techniques they employ in their research which is rare from naija cos we aint research inclined.
3. Consider every single sch in Canada that offers your prog and ur eligible to apply, as narrowing ur search to some schs wouldn't help cos be sure to get a negatie response from those you will be contacting, considering this time of the yr n also cos u had ur undergrad educ outside North America.
4. Sept/Oct is a very busy period for profs in Canada as they are trying to meet up with DL for grants, so if u don't get a reply from them, don't relent. You can make a follow-up call. I believe you should know the format for making initial contacts to them.
5. The truth is that its not an easy task but its worth it. Like i said consider every sch ur eligible to, don't mind the fees as you will always get support.

Even those wit formal documentation on financial support/scholarship, it is contingent on good academic consistency n Cdhc is very aware of this. If they issue one like that a visa n the person goes there n can't continue to excel in acad n the funding is stopped, how does the person cope? @chukie n cuddlemi, una 2 funny, i was just laughing hell here while i was reading ur posts. Sometimes its even good to c things like this here so others can laugh n forget about cdhc. On a more serious note wit u guys, d truth is dt i don't see anything wrong in chukie's attitude if dts his own way of relaxing himself. Cos i want to believe cdhc is ready to issue u ur visa before asking u for an alternative start date cos its the last measure they will take in ensuring dt d visa is really going for study. So don't panic about it, like i asked when is ur original start date?

But is it that d embassy is understaffed? Cdhc don't process up to half of wt d british embassy processes here o. GOD I TRUST IN YOU. Sure its d best thing i can say for now.

@Okeys112, how far have u gone? Did u update ur docs wit cdhc? My start date is Sept 1 but i've got a grace period til 21st but i've not alerted cdhc on dt. R u sure just an email will do? Bro let me no wts happening on ur side as per correspondences b/w u, cdhc n U of S

@chibs001, thanks for d update. Did they also tell u d duration of it i.e sept 15 to when? And even with dt date, did they also confirm dt d booking must be done before d end of month? I pray one is not misled by what is on klm's website.
