chrisooblog:
I know hindsight is 20/20 but lai lai I would never have started Chukwueze or Osayi yesterday. I said that much that the two looked suspect when reacting to the Rwanda game.

Personally you only keep a consistent XI when most of them have done enough to earn your trust and right now it's only 5-6 guys I can trust in that team now.
Osayi Especially, RB was the weakest link against RWanda and yesterday. But what do i know grin

ChrisKels:
No disrespect to Ekong, but he is always a big suspect when we play 4 at the back, and from the first blast of the whistle I was expecting a costly error from him. Ekong does better when he has two CBs by his sides.
Correct, But u see Osayi grin, that guy is not a RB
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by joelsteron: 8:41pm On Mar 25, 2025
Even at 80mins that coach believed our defenders are error prone, you just have to keep trying.. if Ekong don't, osayi will, if ekong don't, bassey will... Just keep trying. undecided

It is actually the pre assist I am actually talking about. If you watch the video, you will see where one person failed to do his job. To me, that was what caused it.
Ndidi or Osayi?
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by joelsteron: 7:42pm On Mar 25, 2025
Osimhen's goal
https://x.com/Olamide0fficial/status/1904588687247368394

The cross assist came from Ola Aina from the left, good, but why didn't Chelle see through the match that most threats against Rwanda, and today, were from the right? Why didn't he sub out Osayi, as he did against Rwanda, to bring in Yusuf? @supernerd was right; Chelle is tactically stiff. I don't even want to talk about Ndidi

TheSuperNerd:
When I saw Chelle stick to Osayi at LB, I was not pleased and I was not feeling good somewhat. Aina may be ambipedal, yes... but he is most effective as a RB all day!!!

Chelle made his point with Osayi as RB vs Rwanda but repeating such for Zimbabwe tells me he may have tactical personnel stiffness tendencies.

Bruno is a better LB than Osayi yet Chellechukwu did what he did.
Chelle should have himself to blame.

TheGoodJoe:
There was one in the second half that was ridiculous. cheesy

Ndidi should sit and reduce exposing the defence. He should also just keep his passing simple and scan more to make quick decisions.
Rewatching the goal, i expected Ndidi to tail the scorer before facing Ekong.
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by joelsteron: 7:08pm On Mar 25, 2025
TheGoodJoe:
That goal came from someone from laxity from our offensive press. Maybe exhaustion. But, the guy who gave the assist was supposed to have been tracked to make it difficult for him to give that pass.

After that, we lost shape and it happened. undecided
Correct 100% exhaustion...
But Osayi was culprit in this match.

Osayi cost us this match. Ekong was all covering his ass throughout.

Yeah I thought about that too but I started seeing reports that he like a 3 man midfield. I wouldn't mind 4-4-2 because Iwobi can easily drop into the the midfield
Chukwueze must wake up or benched

Who observed that we don't have a right winger yet. Moses simon can't play there while we pray for chukwueze to rediscover himself.

My lineup. I don't see how any one of these players don't start the game. I might be wrong sha
Nice lineup, But I see chelle playing 2 man upfront, i.e LOOKMAN & OSIMHEN, so MOSES will likely join the midfield of 4

Chelle will make history with the squad.

I can perceive a convincing win against Rwanda on Friday.

Can we have a midfield of Black busquet (Onyedika) , Nwakali, Iwobi?? grin

Our Busquet is a Pirlo/Iniesta in one. feels good watching him rn.

EEGA:
In one of my earlier posts,I reiterated that he has the potential to be better than Rodri.

Currently,at par with Mikel.

Give him the creative midfield role,we assigned to Mikel against African opposition and see him perform wonders.

O boy, that boy is class, technically astute and a good game reader.

A food for thought.

Have the Super Eagles ever failed to score in a game that he was on from the start?
I just rewatched highlight of our last match against Rwanda. Onyedika giving me happiness grin cheesy

And Raphael Onyeballuuuuu scores!!!

Another strike from outside the box goes in beautifully

Club Brugges lead 6-0 now. He scored the 5th.
Super Eagles Pirlo/Busquets. Baller

From observations
1. Yusuf/Ndidi, Onyedika (is a must), Iwobi should be our starting midfield.

2. The RB in the absence is Ola Aina has been calamity from past matches.

3. Bassey has a competitor in Osho

4. Dessers should be given a look and playing as a backup to VO. To qualify for WC, we need a finisher. Not bonface pls.

5. AE is not tactically good for me. Individual brilliance can't take us far.

Rohr really capitalized on set piece in that match. Yeye man he knows SE very well
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by joelsteron: 10:14pm On Nov 14, 2024
AE still not convincing enough with his
1. Tactics
2. Player selections, only to gets it right in 2nd halfs.
3. Iwobi can't start my middle, if all he offers is penetration passes. Please do away with 2 man midfielder regardless.
4. Onyedika is not a bench warmer
5. Eagles weakness is set piece, Rohr that quite well.
6. Lookman and Simon are starters for me if Chukwueze is not serious yet.
God bless Nigeria
