You have this one life. How do you want to spend
it? Apologizing? Regretting? Questioning? Hating
yourself or others? Dieting? Running after people
who don't see or appreciate you?
Be brave. Believe in yourself. Love yourself. Do
what feels good and right. Take risk. Have fun.
You only have this one life. Live it to the fullest
and make every minute of it count. Make yourself
proud |

On Sunday a 23-year-old, identified only as Ugochukwu, was found hanging in his apartment in Festac. It was gathered that on Sunday at about 12pm, Ugochukwu’s mother, identified only as Ngozi, and his two siblings came back from church to find him hanging in the sitting room, dead. The family members were said to have raised the alarm which brought neighbours to the scene, as everyone was taken aback at the sight of Ugochukwu’s dangling body. The 23-year-old reportedly used a rope to hang himself from a ceiling fan. The matter was said to have been reported at the FESTAC Police Division, and the officers reportedly came to remove the corpse. A police source said that Ugochukwu’s relations said the deceased did not give any clue as to why he committed suicide. He said: Another resident in the area, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said the corpse had been taken to the mortuary by the police. She said: One of Ugochukwu’s neighbours, Oluja, said: “Nobody can say why he committed suicide. But two Sundays ago, they caught him mixing cement to drink. The family members had actually gone to church, and he had stayed behind. It was a nieghbour who caught him and alerted the family members. “But all efforts made to find out from him, what went wrong reportedly proved abortive, as he refused to tell anyone anything, including his mother. This morning, the family members went to church again, and Ugochukwu decided to stay back. Nobody suspected anything. It was when the family members came back that they found his corpse.” “Ugochukwu’s father’s whereabouts are unknown, but the boy has a younger brother and an elder sister. “The corpse has been taken to the mortuary. Since he finished secondary school, he had not been able to secure admission. He took the UTME again this year. “Everyone knows him as someone who did not talk too much. But no one knew exactly why he committed suicide. He was not working. He was usually at home. They were staying in a room and parlour. They are an average family.” “I am shocked that Ugochukwu has passed on. I just returned from my church, only to learn that Ugochukwu was found hanging in his apartment. “It was the policemen from FESTAC that took his body away. Everyone in the area is still in shock. “I know that he had been worried about his admission to the university. “He had tried several schools, but never made it. Also, he was having a financial problem. Maybe, it is the sum of these worries that made him commit suicide. Oxytocin:Awwn!.u don't watch or you've stopped watching Which 1? |
Teenagers as young as 13 are now believed to regularly watch pornography. But a slew of studies show regularly consumption may actually re-wire the brain Watching a lot of porn can affect your brain, scientists reckon. It’s a guilty pleasure best enjoyed in moderation, apparently, because too much can make you desensitised in real sexual situations. Porn can also bring out the same characteristics found in drug addicts – but sadly enthusiasts often get diminished pleasure from each ‘fix’. Expert Joe Schrank told Medical Daily: ‘As with anything in life, striving for balance is key. ‘Brains need diversity of activity too.’ Here’s the science bit… When you have sex or watch porn, a neurotransmitter called dopamine is released into your system. And generally that’s a good thing. But a 2014 study which scanned the brains of porn watchers found less was released the more porn they watched – saying they needed extra stimulation. Two other brain chemicals released during sex or watching porn include oxytocin and vasopressin, which recall long term memories. If the feeling of satisfaction comes to be associated with pornography, it keeps people going back to it, rather than actual sexual experiences. The study also found that watching lots of porn could lead to less activity in the left putamen, which usually responds to sexual stimuli. It’s apparently similar to the results found in cocaine addicts – although the research doesn’t conclude whether porn causes the brain changes, or if people with certain brain types just watch more porn. Research by Cambridge University last year found porn enthusiasts responded to erotic images the same way alcoholics respond to seeing pictures of drinks. It’s due to the way the ventral striatum responds to stimulus, but in younger people could increase impulsiveness and risk- taking. So there you have it. Like all good things, it’s best not to overdo it, so to speak. Source: www.joelxclusive..co.ke/2015/08/darm-see-what-watching-p0rn-can-do-to.html?m=1

The game is over for a gang of interstate car snatchers after being trapped by the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS), Ikeja, Lagos. Two members of the gang, Evans Demodia and Benson Obode, were arrested in Benin, the Edo State capital by a team of SARS operatives during a search for a stolen Toyota Corolla. The car had been snatched at gun point from a Lagos businessman, Alhaji Babangida Isah, at Dopemu area of Lagos. The SARS operatives, sources said, had tracked phone calls by the suspects on Isah’s cell phone which they had stolen with his car. Demodia, an auto mechanic, was arrested at his workshop, at No 33, Auchi Road, Benin City. Further search in his house yielded two other cars suspected to have been stolen –a Toyota Camry belonging to one Mr. Lawrence Oaikhena, of Warri, Delta State, and a Honda CRV. The Toyota Camry, was said to have been robbed at gunpoint from its owner, in Warri, Delta State, when a white Peugeot 307 car, with two occupants, double crossed it. Twenty-seven year-old Demodia has confessed that he is a receiver of stolen vehicles from the gang. He claimed to have received over four cars from the gang’s alleged leader, Obode. He said Obode and one Chief Osama, met him in his workshop and lured him into joining the gang. His words:”I joined because I saw there was huge profit in the business. When I met Obode, he told me that he was a car dealer that buys vehicles and he would want me to help him sell in Benin, but later I discovered that he was an armed robber. “My suspicion was confirmed when I saw an expended cartridge in one of the cars, I also discovered that the vehicles usually had no papers. I deal in Toyota products, so I told him that I wanted Toyota cars. I paid him N400, 000 for the Toyota Corolla that he gave me and I sold it to a woman for N500, 000. I also bought a Toyota Camry from him for N350, 000 and sold it for N400, 000. “ I received two other cars which I was yet to sell when the police arrested me. When they interrogated me I told them that, Obode supplied the cars to me and I took them to his house. We didn’t meet him at home , but his landlord was asked to follow us. “A few hours later, Obode, was brought into my cell and his face was covered with bruises. I asked what happened to him and he said he was beaten up by a mob when he got home. He told me that some vigilance men arrested him with a Peugeot 307 and he was identified as the robber who policemen from Lagos were looking for and while he attempted to escape he was chased and they gave him the beating of his life. “On our way to Lagos, Obode, fell very ill and he was taken to the hospital.” Pleading for mercy, Demodia blamed his involvement in crime on greed. “I should have been contented with what I had. I wasn’t doing badly as mechanic and I have operated my own workshop for over five years. It was greed that made me join the gang. I feel very bad about it.” Source :The Nation Source: www.joelxclusive..co.ke/2015/08/police-smash-interstate-car-snatching.html?m=1
