Zainab's mom had experienced damnation from all angle, everything began when she married a man from a different tribe she had a strong bond with and her father's people loathed the mother from the first day she ventured her foot in their home for introduction. Her mom could recall the harsh gaze her sister-in-law gave her when the brother said "sister Tosin, this is the lady I want to marry". The nerve of Zainab's mom to simply go straight and embrace her after that sentence from the brother, made the sister-in-law disdain her with energy . People can literally hate you for no reason, Zainab's mom said in her mind. It's been five years since their dad passed on. It was just Zainab, Aminu and Zara that the mother Habiba had, before he died. After his death, life has been very difficult for them, because the husband’s family came and took away the remaining property that the husband had. Leaving the family with nothing. Habiba woke up one day and decided she was going to the city to find greener pasture. So, she left the three kids with her elder sister, who was happy to look after them since she didn’t bear children. The night before her departure, she decided to tell her children the truth about her past. She has been having the inclination that her past has come to haunt her but she didn’t want to truly believe it. She later decided to tell only Zainab her eldest daughter so she will know and then when her siblings come of age they might know too. ******************** It all started when I was in primary 5. I lived in a small village with my parents, we were battling however we were blissful. Life wasn’t a bed of roses for us and so we knew when to talk about food and when not to. When I entered primary 5, I would walk home from school through a certain route. And that was where I first met Ahmed. Ahmed was in Jss 2 when we first met and became friends. We became really close that everyone knew about us. Soon he started calling me his wife. My parents, especially my mother was in support of us because he was from a good family. He would come to our house during the weekends to help my mother with all the necessary things she needed. My mother started blessing him one day and told me in his presence “Habiba the day you leave Ahmed's life is the day you will suffer”. She blessed my future marriage with Ahmed. At that time I was in love with him, I won’t lie but as the day progresses something else happened What happened? Zainab asked. Hmmm!! Well, my mother kicked the bucket. Life in the village became more difficult. I was about graduating from junior secondary school when this happened. Ahmed and I turned out to be exceptionally close. Everyone knew about us. They were all hanging tight for our big day. It was already too much that I was sent to school, they thought. This was because in my village, girls don’t go to school. They are trained at home on how to become a house wife. Taking a girl to school is just providing her ability to be insolent to her husband. That was their ideology. When Ahmed graduated from secondary school. His elder brother took a knife one day and wrote my name on his left arm. It spouted blood that day but it later halted. At the point when he came to show me, I was crying on the grounds that the aggravation was much for himself and he did that to demonstrate the amount he cherished me. |

Christmas is a one day celebration about the birth of Jesus Christ. It is a day event that is globally celebrated mostly by the Christians. In some countries, the celebration usually begins 1st December and ends 31st December. While in some countries the celebration is only done that day 25th December. People celebrate Christmas Day in many ways. Many people decorate their homes, visit family or friends and exchange gifts. … Some groups arrange meals, shelter or charitable projects for people without a home or with very little money. It’s obvious that the pandemic still affected this year but not like last year. Many people couldn’t go home because of that and that is why this post will be very helpful to people spending the Christmas holiday alone and those spending it with family. How to spend the Christmas holiday in 2021? 1. Travel home to Family Christmas is a time that most people have to spend quality time with their family. The spirit of Christmas is so great and much fun when you spend it with the ones you love. While you are with your family, you can do so many things together like: playing a Christmas game, discussing about life, creating new memories that will stay with you till you meet with them again. If you are spending the Christmas alone, you can visit friends that are close to you or you can visit your colleague and try to do the aforementioned. 2. Be a charitable person this Christmas Yes! Be a charitable person this Christmas, by participating in charity fundraising events. Visiting the orphanage home. Telling and convincing people to visit the orphanage home. Volunteering in places that needs help. Visiting those old people near you or even those far from you and help them do stuffs like: cooking for them, fetching firewood, or filling their gas cooker or buying the kerosene, buying them gifts and leaving them with cash that will sustain them for a long time. You can decide to make a change by visiting the prison. Visit those in the hospital and spend a day or an hour with them. 3. Adopt a new cultural celebration Since you have known yourself, spending the Christmas has always been the same routine for you. This Christmas holiday should be different. Dig up some old family culture and pick one and add to the already existing one. How did your grandparents or great grandparents spend their Christmas? What do your aunties and uncles do when they come back home for Christmas? These are some of the questions that will help you dig out some of the cultures. 4. Watch Christmas movies Watching Christmas movies will surely help you be in the mood for Christmas. You will not only watch to enjoy yourself, but you will acquire more knowledge. There are Christmas movies that tells you how and why the Christmas celebration started, these type of movies will help you in knowing how to better celebrate. 5. Go Caroling You can go and watch a Christmas carol. Or you do that yourself. Put on a nice dress, pick a musical instrument or two, call a friend or your sibling or colleague whichever is around you, and start singing Christmas carol. You can first start singing to yourselves before going to your family, then the neighbors. SPENDING CHRISTMAS ALONE? You couldn’t go home because of tight schedules? Well let me help you with some suggestions on how you can make this Christmas count. You can choose from the 5 above, the ones you can do and then add these ones to them. 1. Listen to Christmas songs You can make a playlist of your favorite songs and then add some Christmas songs to them. Make sure to learn the lyrics well, so you will be able to know what you are singing and not biting your tongue. Have you heard? That music is a scientifically-proven way to boost your mood. This happens because of the release of neurotransmitter, like dopamine (which regulates pleasure) and serotonins (which contributes to well-being and happiness). 2. Read books Reading books and sipping either coffee or juice, in your Christmas or normal pajamas will make much sense. Make sure you stay close to the window, so that if you read a little, you can look out to see the outside views easily. 3. Watch parade Go out there and watch the colorful and beautiful Christmas parade. If there is no parade around your area, you can go outside, look for a spot, seat down and watch how people are dressed. Or surf the internet, go through either instagram or Facebook you will definitely see one. Christmas dressing is usually different, which makes it very lovely to watch what others are wearing. 4. Create new memories After reminiscing, you can create new memories by doing those things you have always wanted to do but too afraid to do them. Now is the time to do them. CONCLUSION Christmas holiday is a holiday that should be spent with happiness on your face always. It’s not a time to be sad or mourn or get angry. It’s a time to forgive and do away with every grudges. It’s also a time you make peace with yourself and others around you; especially those who offended you. TRAFFIC HARMONY PART 2 Two months into their relationship, Ayomide invited her for the first time to his house. She wasn’t really sure what to expect because for all she knows, the car he was driving that day might not be his because this had been the case with the guys that always wanted her beautiful friends. They would borrow a car just to entice them and after sleeping with them, they would run away or her friends will find out that the car wasn’t theirs but something always made sure that they were exposed. When she got to his house she became sure that he was indeed wealthy. He served her cold juice with some snacks. He went and prepared well garnished noodles and eggs. After eating, they both sat down looking at each other in a very romantic way. Immediately, Ayomide moved closer to her and placed his lips on hers, it felt magical to Ajoke because that was her first kiss. He kissed her so tenderly and started caressing her breast. She couldn’t resist and so she reciprocated by touching his penis and then all over his body. Ayomide made to carry her to his bedroom but couldn’t because she was heavier than she looked. They both laughed and then walked to the bedroom instead. Although, she was embarrassed but, he told her it was okay that he just needed to go to the gym more. Although his brother contributed in making him rich because he gave him his own riches that he would have had if he were still alive. The story came to Ajoke as a shock. She never expected to hear such a thing because she doesn’t believe in spirits. My brother likes you a lot that was why I had to come to you. He said you were a good person and he would have married you if he was living. When I got to know you better, I discovered all he said about you was true. Now that you know me, I don’t know if you would accept us the way we are? He asked searching for answers from her face. But she kept a neutral facial expression. Another thing you should know, is that he do talk to me, so whenever you see me talking as though I am with someone, just know it is him. That was too much for Ajoke to bear. She begged to be alone for some time. And he granted her the permission. She quickly took her bag and left his house, rejecting his offer to take her home. *********** Life was indeed playing tricks on her, so she thought on her way home. She couldn’t sleep that night. She was just thinking about all that had happened. Although, she enjoyed the party (having sex with two guys at same time) but she was more worried about having to live like that forever. She refused telling anyone because it would be a thing of shame and no one would believe her because such story was unheard of. Two weeks after giving him space and thinking deeply about the whole thing, she accepted to be with him because she had already fallen deeply in love with Ayomide. When she broke the news to him, he was happy to hear it and also told her that his twin brother was very excited with the news too. A year later, when he discovered that she was indeed saying the truth about being okay with everything and how deeply she loves him, he proposed to her and she accepted to marry him. I wanted to give you much time to think about everything and see, if this is what you can take for the rest of your life before proposing marriage to you but now I am fully convinced that you want to spend the rest of your life with me, he said still kneeling down with the ring. Ajoke did have something to boast of, but she didn’t like the talking part of Ayomide, it made him look as if he was mad whenever they were at an event or outside the house. She is okay if they were indoors or alone but when his twin brother starts talking to him outside she finds it embarrassing. My name is Ajoke and the story you are about to read is not the normal story of Cinderella or that of sleeping beauty. I am far from their own love story. Ajoke is a 25 year old. She's fat and at the same time short, with legs as big as that of the Igbo farmer's biggest yam of the new yam festival. And her mouth as wide as that of a big pot. Her face is very flat and sometimes you wonder if a plate was used in designing it. She is all the definition of ugly if you asked her friends who always used her shape to mock and bully her. Ajoke at first would always cry whenever she's bullied but, when they continued nonstop, she became very used to them with all their mockery and bullying and so, it never bothered her. All she was sure of was that, there was a man out there for her. Although Ajoke was ugly, but she wasn’t lacking in the aspects of intelligence, hard work and always finding favors. She graduated same year with her friends but she was the only one with a good and well-paying job. Her friends who used to mock and bully her are either engaged with a menial job or were at home. Ajoke’s story changed on the day she went to work and wasn’t feeling too well, she decided to close early and go home to get some rest as suggested by her boss. On her way to her house, she met a terrible traffic jam. Her city was well-known for having heavy traffic but she didn’t expect there would be any traffic by that time; it wasn’t rush hour yet. While her head was hammering by the left side, she looked out through the window to see if the water sellers were in sight but none was close by, she could hear their shouts of “buy your cold pure water here" but she couldn’t reach any of them to buy one. While she was still searching on how to get one, a blue Porsche car blew a horn that infuriated her. She quickly turned, opened the window very roughly and made the ‘F' sign to the driver. She never intended for the driver or whomever was driving such an expensive car to see what she did. None of the passengers saw her but the driver of the car did see her when she made the sign. When the driver didn’t react nor made any sign of stopping to abuse her or winding down the glass to see who made that sign, when nothing was happening, she concluded that the driver didn’t see her and she thanked her God and swore never to repeat such mistake, she blamed the terrible headache she was having for making her do that “I wasn’t in my right senses" that was her excuse. Just then, the cars and buses began to move slowly and within thirty minutes she was home. ************** 5am the next day, she heard an almost noiseless knock on her door. Being a light sleeper she woke up and opened the door immediately, thinking it was her neighbor who always knocks at that time to beg for either salt or sugar or even pure water, promising to always pay back but never does. Opening the door, she saw a man who is almost her height but a bit taller than she is, standing in front of her door with the ‘F' sign on his right hand. Her brain didn’t help her immediately but when it did, she screamed and knelt down immediately begging him. It was the man in the Porsche car from yesterday she told herself. When you are done begging, can I come inside? She was startled but made way for him to enter, still kneeling down on one kneel. He entered and made himself comfortable by sitting down on her bed because that was the only available place for anyone to seat in her room. She stood up and went close to him, with a pleading face. I’m really sorry for what I did yesterday, I wasn’t in my right senses, please forgive me. She said. He kept on looking at her as though she has been yammering in a language he couldn’t comprehend. I’m not here to listen to your reasons. I’m here because I like you and I want you to be my girlfriend. I made some findings about you and discovered you are not in any relationship now and so I want you to be my girlfriend. Ayomide has always been known as a man who always goes for what he wanted but not in relationship aspect. He was also surprised to hear himself say those words to a total stranger that insulted him yesterday. But he was sure she would complete his story for him. Like Ajoke, he was also bullied while in school. He was very short that no one ever thought he would add an inch to his height. He wasn’t the handsome or prince charming kind of guy but he was moderate but not close to average. His friends classified him as ugly and would make mockery of his big ears that looks a bit like those of the elephants. He somehow enjoyed his past because he had proven to his friends that you don’t need to be handsome to get rich or have a beautiful mansion of your own. “I will be your girlfriend” was the sentence that brought him back from his reminiscing state. But I don’t even know you, she added. You will get to know me soonest, he said to her. Ajoke was happy for at least she now has something she could boast of. She didn’t really know this guy but she believed that since Rome wasn’t built in a day, she too can’t know him in a day, it will take time but they will get to know each other well enough and who knows, I might get married to him, she said to herself smiling sheepishly. |

When I started working with my current boss, he told me that I will learn a lot of things from him, things that will last forever and help me in every aspect of my life. All I needed to do was to keep my ears to the ground and know when to take in the lesson because he won’t always be pin pointing the lesson and wisdom for me. From that day onwards, he started teaching me things from every incident and every encounter we have with the customers. From the lessons he has taught me about every aspect of life, I will be sharing some of the business advice. From this post, you will learn the 6 best business advice from my boss. So, the 6 best business advice from my boss in 2021 are: 1. HAVE A PLAN In every business you do, make sure you have a weekly, monthly and a yearly plan on how the business will be run. What you will buy, how much budget you can make etc. The plan should be a bit flexible but not too flexible to avoid destroying your business. Having a plan will help you know your next step and where your business is headed. It will help make things easier for you. And it will help keep you on track, so that you will be able to achieve your goals. This type of plan is a bit different from the start up business plan. With this plan, your business will grow and be on track. When making this plan, you should make up your mind and stick to it to have a good result. Because, when you make this plans and not stick to it, it’s just tantamount to wasting your time. 2. HONESTY According to my boss, “Honesty is an important ingredient in every business”. As a business man or woman, you need to be transparent, you need to be honest in your dealings with your customers and everyone you come across with in your business. Be honest even to your rank and file workers. You should literally just be an honest person. Honesty builds loyalty and trust in customers and prospects. You never know which action, event or incident can lead you to meeting your biggest client or your biggest connection that can lift your business higher. Honesty can propel your company to long-term success. A key method for building trust is through honesty. Once you have your target audience's trust and loyalty, you will be able to sell any product you have and make good money, and your business will grow without you putting much effort again, because you already have your customers trust. When you gain that trust and loyalty, do not change, stick to being honest. 3. TOO MUCH PROFIT When you focus on making too much profit from your business, you end up killing your business. The main focus shouldn’t be on how much profit you will make from your sales, it should rather be from the turnovers. Waking up to the reconciliation news of the twin brothers is literally the best celebrity news of 2021 for me. The twin brothers Peter Okoye and Paul Okoye haven't been in good terms shortly after the death of their mother (Late Mrs. Josephine Okoye) . There were so many rumors as to why they went their separate ways but no one knew the exact reason. There were so many advice. Some blamed their wives. Some said its because they don’t have a mother to keep them together. Some said it was their elder brother that was to be blamed. There were so many rumors but none was confirmed. These two have been my best artist since childhood. I loved their songs and their dance styles. I knew all the lyrics to their songs. I had wished to see them, but when I heard the news of their separation, even though we weren’t blood related, It hurt me deeply. I still wish to see them though. Before their separation, I didn’t know that twins could be separated, because of the immense bond they share. I love twins and wish to be one, but we know that is impossible (smiles) but you never can tell, I just might give birth to one. But waking up to their reconciliation news on the 17th November, 2021, was the best thing for me especially their 40th birthday reunion which was 18th November, 2021. Peace I must say is something very nice. When you have peace, things will go so well and there will always be happiness and no sorrow. Peace is what we all should strive to maintain especially when there is chaos. When there is peace, you will sleep better. Work better. Do things better. And live better. Forgiveness as well is something we should learn to do, I know it’s difficult but we should strive to forgive those who offend us. There are two things I learnt from their separation and also their reconciliation: Peace and Forgiveness. Its been 5 years since their separation. Fans went crazy, me inclusive when they separated. Some stopped listening to their music because they were not united. Some chose Paul while others chose Peter. But now, their fans went crazy again with the news of their reconciliation, which I pray will last forever because there is no gain in anger, chaos and separation. Conclusion According to Merriam Webster, PEACE means harmony in personal relations. And FORGIVENESS means the act of forgiving. ( Forgiving means to stop feeling anger about something to forgive someone for something wrong). Peace and forgiveness are two virtues we should learn and stick to. “Love your neighbors as you love yourself” so said the scripture in Matthew 22:39; Love as you know is the greatest commandment of God. I wish you will learn from their story and try to resolve any issue before it escalates. Let peace reign in your life for: a better self, better family, better home, better city, better state, better country and a better world. For peace to reign, there should first be forgiveness after a wrong is done, that is why we should strive to forgive when someone offends us. For once there is peace there won't be any room for war and crises or even anger. Three things I want you to learn from this post are: PEACE, LOVE AND FORGIVENESS. It was a very sunny morning, I decided to step outside leaving my comfort zone after listening to ‘Les Brown’ a motivational speaker whom my friend had recently introduced me to. Few minutes into strolling the street, I felt the fresh air take up my gown, penetrating through my entire body. I was still in awe as to how I didn’t think of wearing an underpants’ when a guy in his early thirties rushed towards me and drag me to a corner near an empty shop. I was about asking “what the Bleep is wrong with you?” when he quickly placed his soft pink lips on mine, which melted my whole body. I came to realize that he was being chased by some hoodlums and he wanted me to be his escape route. When the hoodlums (four guys dressed in a very shabby cloth, with daggers and cutlasses in their hands, with their hair looking very dirty as though it hasn’t been washed for years) passed the corner. My normal self would have quickly pushed him away and slapped him too but I found my lips still stocked up in-between his mouth. Our lips were already watery and you could tell by mere looking at our eyes that we wanted something more than just that kiss at that moment. He was the first to pull off from me, which made it really awkward. After he pulled off from me, he stood there staring deeply into my eyes, it took me about ten seconds to fully open my eyes and actually looked at him. When I finally looked back at him, I couldn’t utter a word nor summon the courage to ask why he did that. I just arranged my gown and left immediately. I was almost at the gate of my apartment when I heard footsteps from behind drawing closer to me. I had first noticed it immediately I left him but I never thought it was him trying to follow me up. When I turned, I saw him standing at my back. He looked at me and said “you cannot sleep at your place today, they will come for you”. He didn’t even allow me to finish the question of “Who are you? Who are they? Why can’t I sleep in my own apartment today?” all in one breath question before he carried me up, placed me on his left shoulder and started walking towards a car that was parked five minutes away from my gate. *************** Lateef is a very tall and handsome guy. With his skin as dark as charcoal but as shiny as the sun and as smooth as a new born baby. His eyes are very sexy, with a full eyebrow that can make you keep staring at him when he is talking and looking at you in the face. He just knows how to move his eyes to always bring out the sexiness in them. He has a great sense of dressing and wears a romantic cologne. He looks very taciturn but when he speaks, you will know that he grew up in the street. He has this innocent face that always makes people believe him even without defending himself. When we got to the car, he opened the back door, pushed me inside and slammed the door. He drove for about an hour plus before getting to his place. I had already slept and woke up twice while he kept driving and staring at me through the front mirror. When we got to his place, he asked me to come down and follow him, but I refused. I waited in the car for him to open the door but he went straight and gave his gatekeeper an instruction not to allow me go out and not to allow anyone in. If anyone asked after him, he should tell the person that he has gone on one of his trips and won’t be back any time soon. Three hours later, I was still inside the car. My phone had already gone off after listening to those motivational words, I had wanted to charge it when I got back from my strolling. I stayed in the car for a very long time and when my stomach started singing in agony, I came down and entered his apartment. It was a beautiful house, well decorated with a great scent gushing out every minute from a small machine that was hanging on his wall. I looked around the beautiful house and was amazed at how good and tidy a man’s house could be. All my boyfriends and male friends’ house aren’t as tidy as this one. I stood there looking around and waiting to see if he will come out because I made sure he heard my footsteps when I entered. But he didn’t come out. When I waited for more five minutes and he wasn't coming forth, I walked myself through his kitchen which was already open, went straight to his refrigerator and served myself. His refrigerator was well stocked. After I had finished eating, he came out wearing only panties and leaving the rest of his body exposed. When I saw him, I was very sure he heard me swallowing saliva very loudly. That was the first time I had looked at him and observed him. He told me that I can try and feel at home because I won’t be leaving till after three days when the tension is much calmer. He showed me a room and asked me to feel free to wear anything I liked and if I needed anything else, I should let him know. That was the last time we saw each other that day.
